Točno osamdeset godina je prošlo od one herojske zore kad je grupa komunista iz Siska, čuvši na radiju da je Hitler napao SSSR, odlučila otići u šumu kod sela Žabno (kasnije će se prebaciti u šumu Brezovica), gdje će osnovati Prvi sisački partizanski odred i povesti antifašističku borbu u Hrvatskoj.
Danas slavimo taj besmrtni partizanski odred.
Od njih 77, bilo je 72 Hrvata, uz troje Srba i dvoje Slovenaca. Oslobođenje zemlje dočekalo ih je samo 38: više od polovice ih je izginulo u antifašističkoj borbi.
Ti mladi Hrvati dobro su znali da zločinačka, rasistička i veleizdajnička NDH nije i ne može biti „izraz vjekovnih težnji hrvatskog naroda”.
Tog 22. lipnja 1941. ti hrabri mladi Siščani radikalno su promijenili svoje živote. Tog dana svoje građanske egzistencije zamijenili su ilegalom: odlaskom u šumu prestali su biti radnici, studenti i seljaci, posvetivši se isključivo oružanoj borbi s ciljem otpora fašizmu i oslobađanja zemlje.
Prvu akciju izveli su već sutradan: minirali su željezničku prugu Zagreb-Sisak. Ta eksplozija označila je neslužbeni početak antifašističke borbe u Hrvatskoj, kojoj su se pridružili i mnogi nekomunisti, pa je do kraja rata Hrvatska dala čak 230.000 partizana, a na njezinu teritoriju formirane su 52 brigade, 17 divizija i pet od 11 korpusa Narodnooslobodilačke vojske (NOV).
Golemi doprinos antifašističkoj borbi dali su i Split i čitava Dalmacija. Samo na Sutjesci poginulo je tri tisuće dalmatinskih partizana – od čega gotovo polovica iz Šibenika i Splita - a od 16 partizanskih brigada u toj najtežoj bitki Drugog svjetskog rata najviše su stradale upravo tri dalmatinske brigade.
A Split je bio nepojamna i neprobojna tvrđava antifašizma. Iz grada koji je 1941. brojio tek 40.000 žitelja, njih čak 12.500 otišlo je u partizane, dok ih je svega 50 otišlo u ustaše, a 45 u četnike: na jednog domaćeg izdajnika dolazilo je 130 partizana. Tadašnjim Splićanima nije trebalo crtati koja je prava strana.
Njihova je antifašistička borba omogućila da se 1945. konstituira Narodna Republika Hrvatska (kao federalna jedinica ondašnje Federativne Narodne Republike Jugoslavije), a prva Narodna vlada Hrvatske formirana je 14. travnja 1945. upravo u Splitu.
I stoga, u spomen na sve dalmatinske i hrvatske partizanske heroje, svim čitateljima čestitamo Dan antifašističke borbe.

Točno osamdeset godina je prošlo od one herojske zore kad je grupa komunista iz Siska, čuvši na radiju da je Hitler napao SSSR, odlučila otići u šumu kod sela Žabno (kasnije će se prebaciti u šumu Brezovica), gdje će osnovati Prvi sisački partizanski odred i povesti antifašističku borbu u Hrvatskoj.
Danas slavimo taj besmrtni partizanski odred.
Od njih 77, bilo je 72 Hrvata, uz troje Srba i dvoje Slovenaca. Oslobođenje zemlje dočekalo ih je samo 38: više od polovice ih je izginulo u antifašističkoj borbi.
Ti mladi Hrvati dobro su znali da zločinačka, rasistička i veleizdajnička NDH nije i ne može biti „izraz vjekovnih težnji hrvatskog naroda”.
Tog 22. lipnja 1941. ti hrabri mladi Siščani radikalno su promijenili svoje živote. Tog dana svoje građanske egzistencije zamijenili su ilegalom: odlaskom u šumu prestali su biti radnici, studenti i seljaci, posvetivši se isključivo oružanoj borbi s ciljem otpora fašizmu i oslobađanja zemlje.
Prvu akciju izveli su već sutradan: minirali su željezničku prugu Zagreb-Sisak. Ta eksplozija označila je neslužbeni početak antifašističke borbe u Hrvatskoj, kojoj su se pridružili i mnogi nekomunisti, pa je do kraja rata Hrvatska dala čak 230.000 partizana, a na njezinu teritoriju formirane su 52 brigade, 17 divizija i pet od 11 korpusa Narodnooslobodilačke vojske (NOV).
Golemi doprinos antifašističkoj borbi dali su i Split i čitava Dalmacija. Samo na Sutjesci poginulo je tri tisuće dalmatinskih partizana – od čega gotovo polovica iz Šibenika i Splita - a od 16 partizanskih brigada u toj najtežoj bitki Drugog svjetskog rata najviše su stradale upravo tri dalmatinske brigade.
A Split je bio nepojamna i neprobojna tvrđava antifašizma. Iz grada koji je 1941. brojio tek 40.000 žitelja, njih čak 12.500 otišlo je u partizane, dok ih je svega 50 otišlo u ustaše, a 45 u četnike: na jednog domaćeg izdajnika dolazilo je 130 partizana. Tadašnjim Splićanima nije trebalo crtati koja je prava strana.
Njihova je antifašistička borba omogućila da se 1945. konstituira Narodna Republika Hrvatska (kao federalna jedinica ondašnje Federativne Narodne Republike Jugoslavije), a prva Narodna vlada Hrvatske formirana je 14. travnja 1945. upravo u Splitu.
I stoga, u spomen na sve dalmatinske i hrvatske partizanske heroje, svim čitateljima čestitamo Dan antifašističke borbe.
