Heroji nikad ne umiru, barem u mislima i srcima svojih suboraca i onih koji poznaju njihovo djelo.

Danas pripadnici Specijalne jedinice Policijske uprave splitsko-dalmatinske BATT sa posebnim pijetetom odaju počast svom suborcu Mariju Selaku koji je poginuo u obrani Kupresa 7.travnja 1992. godine. Selak je zajedno sa još dvojicom svojih suboraca stao ispred nadolazećih tenkova JNA te je RPG-om sa četrdeset metara pogodio i uništio tenk M-84. Nažalost u tom svom herojskom činu i sam je poginuo, zajedno sa svojim suborcima Štekom i Švabom. U trenutku ispaljivanja Marijevog projektila, pucano je i iz tenka prema njemu. Imao je 25 godina, a iza sebe je ostavio oca, majku i dvije sestre koji su njegovo tijelo našli tek 1997 godine, pet godina nakon pogiblje.

Nekadašnji predsjednik splitsko-dalmatinske HVIDRE i bivši Hajdukov povjerenik za navijače Kristijan Petric bio je jedan od specijalaca iz BATT-a koji je svjedok Selakovog herojskog čina.

- Mi smo bili izviđači i krenuli smo prema Zlozeslu, a od tamo je prema Kupresu krenula kolona od pedesetak tenkova JNA. Problem nam je bio što su ti tenkovi imali štitove sa strane tako da su se naši ispaljeni trobloni i zolje odbijali od njih. Jedino su im mogli nauditi projektili - OSA i RPG, ali se tenkovima trebalo opasno približiti na malu udaljenost kako bi pogodak bio učinkovit. Mario je sa četrdeset metara direktno pogodio tenk, ali je nažalost projektil iz istog tenka ubio njega i još dvojicu suboraca. Taj uništeni tenk kao i drugi tenkovi iz JNA kolone imali su senzore na toplinu i nakon osam sekundi bi detektirali prisutnost čovjeka, zato smo ih napadali sa više ljudi da se kupola tenka okreće jer ima više izvora topline, a tenkisti dolaze u dilemu koga sve gađati u tako kratkom vremenu. Ja sam bio udaljen oko sedamdesetak metara od Selaka kada je poginuo. Bilo je to kod kamenoloma u mjestu Olovo - Osmanlije. Od jedne tenkovske granate u toj borbi sam i sam bio ranjen, zadobio sam ozljede potkoljenice i natkoljenice. Selak je bio dragovoljac HOS-a i poginuo je sa tom oznakom i oznakom Specijalne policije. Mislim da je Selak heroj naše postrojbe i da je njegov podvig vječan. Bila mi je velika čast nositi križ na njegoovm spovodu, a sjetim ga se svakog dana, gotovo svakog trenutka, sjetno će Petric.

Selak je živio u Tršćanskoj ulici u Splitu na broju 39 i stanovnici te ulice se sjećaju i njega i njegovog junaštva, kao i dobrote s kojom je pristupao svakom.

- Njemu je pilot Ivan Selak rođak, a Mario je sam nabavljao oružje i svojim autom odlazio na ratne terene. Takvih je junaka malo. Njegov sporovd 1997. godine bio je dan najveće tuge za našu ulicu i za grad Split, rekoše nam dvojca njegovih poznanika.

U spomen na Marija Selaka objavljujemo ovaj video (on je četvrti u koloni) prilikom jedne akcije prije odlaska na Kupres.

- Taj video je snimljen 1991. na dalmatinskom bojištu i evo odlučio sam vam ga ustupiti u znak poštovanja i pijeteta prema svom suborcu, rekao nam je njegov ratni sudrug koji nije želio otkriti identitet.

Heroji nikad ne umiru, barem u mislima i srcima svojih suboraca i onih koji poznaju njihovo djelo.

Danas pripadnici Specijalne jedinice Policijske uprave splitsko-dalmatinske BATT sa posebnim pijetetom odaju počast svom suborcu Mariju Selaku koji je poginuo u obrani Kupresa 7.travnja 1992. godine. Selak je zajedno sa još dvojicom svojih suboraca stao ispred nadolazećih tenkova JNA te je RPG-om sa četrdeset metara pogodio i uništio tenk M-84. Nažalost u tom svom herojskom činu i sam je poginuo, zajedno sa svojim suborcima Štekom i Švabom. U trenutku ispaljivanja Marijevog projektila, pucano je i iz tenka prema njemu. Imao je 25 godina, a iza sebe je ostavio oca, majku i dvije sestre koji su njegovo tijelo našli tek 1997 godine, pet godina nakon pogiblje.

Nekadašnji predsjednik splitsko-dalmatinske HVIDRE i bivši Hajdukov povjerenik za navijače Kristijan Petric bio je jedan od specijalaca iz BATT-a koji je svjedok Selakovog herojskog čina.

- Mi smo bili izviđači i krenuli smo prema Zlozeslu, a od tamo je prema Kupresu krenula kolona od pedesetak tenkova JNA. Problem nam je bio što su ti tenkovi imali štitove sa strane tako da su se naši ispaljeni trobloni i zolje odbijali od njih. Jedino su im mogli nauditi projektili - OSA i RPG, ali se tenkovima trebalo opasno približiti na malu udaljenost kako bi pogodak bio učinkovit. Mario je sa četrdeset metara direktno pogodio tenk, ali je nažalost projektil iz istog tenka ubio njega i još dvojicu suboraca. Taj uništeni tenk kao i drugi tenkovi iz JNA kolone imali su senzore na toplinu i nakon osam sekundi bi detektirali prisutnost čovjeka, zato smo ih napadali sa više ljudi da se kupola tenka okreće jer ima više izvora topline, a tenkisti dolaze u dilemu koga sve gađati u tako kratkom vremenu. Ja sam bio udaljen oko sedamdesetak metara od Selaka kada je poginuo. Bilo je to kod kamenoloma u mjestu Olovo - Osmanlije. Od jedne tenkovske granate u toj borbi sam i sam bio ranjen, zadobio sam ozljede potkoljenice i natkoljenice. Selak je bio dragovoljac HOS-a i poginuo je sa tom oznakom i oznakom Specijalne policije. Mislim da je Selak heroj naše postrojbe i da je njegov podvig vječan. Bila mi je velika čast nositi križ na njegoovm spovodu, a sjetim ga se svakog dana, gotovo svakog trenutka, sjetno će Petric.

Selak je živio u Tršćanskoj ulici u Splitu na broju 39 i stanovnici te ulice se sjećaju i njega i njegovog junaštva, kao i dobrote s kojom je pristupao svakom.

- Njemu je pilot Ivan Selak rođak, a Mario je sam nabavljao oružje i svojim autom odlazio na ratne terene. Takvih je junaka malo. Njegov sporovd 1997. godine bio je dan najveće tuge za našu ulicu i za grad Split, rekoše nam dvojca njegovih poznanika.

U spomen na Marija Selaka objavljujemo ovaj video (on je četvrti u koloni) prilikom jedne akcije prije odlaska na Kupres.

- Taj video je snimljen 1991. na dalmatinskom bojištu i evo odlučio sam vam ga ustupiti u znak poštovanja i pijeteta prema svom suborcu, rekao nam je njegov ratni sudrug koji nije želio otkriti identitet.
