Dan antifašističke borbe obilježava se u znak sjećanja na 22. lipnja 1941., kada je u šumi Brezovica pored Siska osnovan Prvi sisački partizanski odred. Bila je to prva antifašistička postrojba ne samo u Hrvatskoj, nego i u ovom dijelu Europe.
Počevši od Siska, antifašistički ustanak u Hrvatskoj razvijao se postupno, sa sve većim opredjeljenjem hrvatskog naroda za partizanski pokret. Za vrijeme II. svjetskog rata na području Hrvatske pod kontrolom antifašističkog pokreta Zemaljsko antifašističko vijeće narodnog oslobođenja Hrvatske (ZAVNOH) obavljalo je vrhovnu zakonodavnu i izvršnu funkciju, da bi 1945. godine ZAVNOH prerastao u Narodni sabor Hrvatske. Tako je i tijekom narodnooslobodilačke borbe u Hrvatskoj očuvan povijesni kontinuitet hrvatskog državnog suvereniteta.
Završetkom Drugoga svjetskog rata 1945. godine konstituirana je Narodna Republika Hrvatska kao federalna jedinica ondašnje Federativne Narodne Republike Jugoslavije koja je iz Drugog svjetskog rata izašla kao pobjednica na strani savezničkih snaga.
Dragovoljac Domovinskog rata, Splićanin Damir Banić u svojoj 19. godini priključio se obrani Hrvatske, a svoj najveći doprinos u Domovinskom ratu dao je kao dragovoljac 9. bojne HOS a, no imao je tu nesreću da nagazi na minu, zbog čega je ostao bez lijeve noge, piše Zagreb info.
Banić dodaje kaže kako ništa ne bi mijenjao u svom životu, a osobito činjenicu da je njegov djed bio partizan i antifašist..

No, svako vrijeme ima svog neprijatelja, u moje vrijeme bila je to srpska vojska i JNA, a u vrijeme mog djeda neprijatelji su bili nacisti. Dakle, moji djedovi i ja napravili smo najlogičniju stvar, uzeli oružje i svoje domove branili od okupatora", ispričao je Banić za navedeni medij te je dodao da je antifašizam kao pokret itekako svijetla točka povijesti, bez kojeg ne bi bilo današnje moderne i neovisne Hrvatske.
"Zamislite da nisu pobijedili antifašisti, svijetom bi sada vladali nacisti, a svi znamo kakvo je to zlo. Podsjećam, i ja i moj djed borili smo se protiv fašista. No, problem je što antifašizam u Hrvatskoj ima pogrešan predznak zbog komunizma koji je sve partizanske odlike pripisao sebi i na neki se način pretplatio na antifašistička postignuća. Dan antifašističke borbe obilježava se u znak sjećanja na 22. lipnja 1941., kada je u šumi Brezovica pored Siska osnovan Prvi sisački partizanski odred. Bila je to prva antifašistička postrojba ne samo u Hrvatskoj, nego i u ovom dijelu Europe.
Počevši od Siska, antifašistički ustanak u Hrvatskoj razvijao se postupno, sa sve većim opredjeljenjem hrvatskog naroda za partizanski pokret. Za vrijeme II. svjetskog rata na području Hrvatske pod kontrolom antifašističkog pokreta Zemaljsko antifašističko vijeće narodnog oslobođenja Hrvatske (ZAVNOH) obavljalo je vrhovnu zakonodavnu i izvršnu funkciju, da bi 1945. godine ZAVNOH prerastao u Narodni sabor Hrvatske. Tako je i tijekom narodnooslobodilačke borbe u Hrvatskoj očuvan povijesni kontinuitet hrvatskog državnog suvereniteta.
Završetkom Drugoga svjetskog rata 1945. godine konstituirana je Narodna Republika Hrvatska kao federalna jedinica ondašnje Federativne Narodne Republike Jugoslavije koja je iz Drugog svjetskog rata izašla kao pobjednica na strani savezničkih snaga.
Dragovoljac Domovinskog rata, Splićanin Damir Banić u svojoj 19. godini priključio se obrani Hrvatske, a svoj najveći doprinos u Domovinskom ratu dao je kao dragovoljac 9. bojne HOS a, no imao je tu nesreću da nagazi na minu, zbog čega je ostao bez lijeve noge, piše Zagreb info.
Banić dodaje kaže kako ništa ne bi mijenjao u svom životu, a osobito činjenicu da je njegov djed bio partizan i antifašist..
"Iako mi je zbog mog stava o temi antifašizma određeni broj ljudi okrenuo leđa, ne pada mi na pamet skrivati ili se sramiti činjenice da je jedan od mojih djedova bio partizan, a ja hrvatski branitelj u HOS-u.

No, svako vrijeme ima svog neprijatelja, u moje vrijeme bila je to srpska vojska i JNA, a u vrijeme mog djeda neprijatelji su bili nacisti. Dakle, moji djedovi i ja napravili smo najlogičniju stvar, uzeli oružje i svoje domove branili od okupatora", ispričao je Banić za navedeni medij te je dodao da je antifašizam kao pokret itekako svijetla točka povijesti, bez kojeg ne bi bilo današnje moderne i neovisne Hrvatske.
"Zamislite da nisu pobijedili antifašisti, svijetom bi sada vladali nacisti, a svi znamo kakvo je to zlo. Podsjećam, i ja i moj djed borili smo se protiv fašista. No, problem je što antifašizam u Hrvatskoj ima pogrešan predznak zbog komunizma koji je sve partizanske odlike pripisao sebi i na neki se način pretplatio na antifašistička postignuća. Međutim, to nije točno", ističa za taj medij splitski dragovoljac i branitelj.
