Priroda se voli umiješati u ono što čovjek stvori, pa vjetar donese sjeme, kiša ga napoji, a sunce učini ostalo.
Naraste travka, cvjetić, grm, stablo. Korijenom se biljka hrani, pušta ga koliko god duboko treba, ne bi li došla do izvora energije, taj korijen, polako ali sigurno razdvaja isklesane kamene blokove, rastrese i oslabi vezivo, pa se onda razruši ono što smo vjerovali da smo izgradili za sva vremena.
Iako vam ovo izgleda kao uvod u sat prirode i društva za drugi razred osnovne škole, tema je znatno ozbiljnija i svjedoči o neradu, o nebrizi i o nevjerojatnom bezobrazluku onih koji bi trebali skrbiti o baštini. Na velovaroškoj Stagnji još je u 11. stoljeću, preciznije 1068., crkvicu svetome Nikoli, po našemu - Mikuli, dala izgraditi Splićanka Nemira, časna sestra benediktinka iz patricijske obitelji Messagalina.
Vratimo se samo trenutak na sjeme s početka priče, upravo je crkvica svetoga Mikule bila mjesto oko kojeg je počeo rasti Veli Varoš. Narod se nekada davno "udaljio" od gradskih zidina Dioklecijanove palače i stao zapadno od njega graditi svoj svijet.
I u tom svijetu časna sestra započinje, a njezin mlađi brat Ivan završava gradnju.
Zanimljivo je da je Ivan u pregrađivanje zapadnog pročelja crkve uložio novac svoje pokojne žene, a pomagala mu je pritom druga supruga Tiha. O imenu mu svjedoči natpis uklesan na nadvratniku, koji ga naziva "znamenitim i slavnim".

Danas "znameniti i slavni" ne ulažu u nešto što im samima neće donijeti dobit, baš kao i što "odgovorni" ne vode konta o očuvanju spomenika. A crkvica svetoga Mikule to je! Ona je zaštićeno kulturno dobro, na čijem krovu raste korov, grmlje, izgleda poput jako neurednog i neorganiziranog botaničkog vrta.
Još samo nedostaje da po prolaznicima počnu padati kamene ploče s krovišta. A neće, tješimo se, jer, ruku na srce, nema nigdje ni jedne jedine oznake ni oznake kulturnoga dobra ni putokaza prema Mikuli u cijelome gradu. Gradu koji se voli hvaliti da je najbolji u svemu.
Dok čekamo odgovor iz Banovine je li u ovogodišnjem proračunu rezervirano predviđenih 100 tisuća kuna za izradu idejnog projekta obnove crkvice, obilazimo je, gledamo išarane zidove, odbačene otpatke i divimo se. Kažu nam povjesničari da su četiri monolitna klesana stupa, koja su nekada nosila kupolu, donesena ovdje iz palače.
Prema njihovim navodima, crkvicu su u 17. stoljeću oštetili Turci, a narod je potom obnovio, produžujući je i nadograđujući je. Obnavljana je, dodaju, tri puta – 1919., 1949. i 1990. godine... Možete je razgledati iznutra ako nazovete telefonski broj izvješen na ulaznim vratima (nitko se ne javlja, op.a.), a sigurno ćete u njoj moći poslušati svetu misu 6. prosinca, na blagdan svetog Nikole.

Priroda se voli umiješati u ono što čovjek stvori, pa vjetar donese sjeme, kiša ga napoji, a sunce učini ostalo.
Naraste travka, cvjetić, grm, stablo. Korijenom se biljka hrani, pušta ga koliko god duboko treba, ne bi li došla do izvora energije, taj korijen, polako ali sigurno razdvaja isklesane kamene blokove, rastrese i oslabi vezivo, pa se onda razruši ono što smo vjerovali da smo izgradili za sva vremena.
Iako vam ovo izgleda kao uvod u sat prirode i društva za drugi razred osnovne škole, tema je znatno ozbiljnija i svjedoči o neradu, o nebrizi i o nevjerojatnom bezobrazluku onih koji bi trebali skrbiti o baštini. Na velovaroškoj Stagnji još je u 11. stoljeću, preciznije 1068., crkvicu svetome Nikoli, po našemu - Mikuli, dala izgraditi Splićanka Nemira, časna sestra benediktinka iz patricijske obitelji Messagalina.
Vratimo se samo trenutak na sjeme s početka priče, upravo je crkvica svetoga Mikule bila mjesto oko kojeg je počeo rasti Veli Varoš. Narod se nekada davno "udaljio" od gradskih zidina Dioklecijanove palače i stao zapadno od njega graditi svoj svijet.
I u tom svijetu časna sestra započinje, a njezin mlađi brat Ivan završava gradnju.
Zanimljivo je da je Ivan u pregrađivanje zapadnog pročelja crkve uložio novac svoje pokojne žene, a pomagala mu je pritom druga supruga Tiha. O imenu mu svjedoči natpis uklesan na nadvratniku, koji ga naziva "znamenitim i slavnim".

Danas "znameniti i slavni" ne ulažu u nešto što im samima neće donijeti dobit, baš kao i što "odgovorni" ne vode konta o očuvanju spomenika. A crkvica svetoga Mikule to je! Ona je zaštićeno kulturno dobro, na čijem krovu raste korov, grmlje, izgleda poput jako neurednog i neorganiziranog botaničkog vrta.
Još samo nedostaje da po prolaznicima počnu padati kamene ploče s krovišta. A neće, tješimo se, jer, ruku na srce, nema nigdje ni jedne jedine oznake ni oznake kulturnoga dobra ni putokaza prema Mikuli u cijelome gradu. Gradu koji se voli hvaliti da je najbolji u svemu.
Dok čekamo odgovor iz Banovine je li u ovogodišnjem proračunu rezervirano predviđenih 100 tisuća kuna za izradu idejnog projekta obnove crkvice, obilazimo je, gledamo išarane zidove, odbačene otpatke i divimo se. Kažu nam povjesničari da su četiri monolitna klesana stupa, koja su nekada nosila kupolu, donesena ovdje iz palače.
Prema njihovim navodima, crkvicu su u 17. stoljeću oštetili Turci, a narod je potom obnovio, produžujući je i nadograđujući je. Obnavljana je, dodaju, tri puta – 1919., 1949. i 1990. godine... Možete je razgledati iznutra ako nazovete telefonski broj izvješen na ulaznim vratima (nitko se ne javlja, op.a.), a sigurno ćete u njoj moći poslušati svetu misu 6. prosinca, na blagdan svetog Nikole.
