Idejno rješenje
Gradska uprava, naime, raspisala je otvoreni natječaj za njegovo idejno rješenje, a pozvano je pet umjetnika - Kažimir Hraste, Kuzma Kovačić, Jozo Vrdoljak, Slavomir Drinković te Tomislav Kršnjavi. Pobjednik natječaja odnijet će slavu i 70 tisuća kuna, drugonagrađeni 50, a trećeplasirani 30 tisuća kuna.
O izgledu spomenika legendarnoj hrvatskoj brigadi odlučivat će, pak, deveteročlani žiri u sastavu: Mate Milić, Jure Šundov, Zoran Jermaz, Josip Botteri, dr. sc. Drago Šimundža, Ante Verzotti, Ivan Mršić, dr. sc. Joško Belamarić te Joško Čelan. Inače, odavanje počasti IV. gardijskoj brigadi, popularnim “Pucima” koji su u Domovinskom ratu predstavljali elitnu postrojbu Hrvatske vojske, jedan je od četiriju spomenika koja iza sebe namjerava ostaviti gradonačelnik Kerum.
Očekivano, gradska uprava odlučila se da spomenik “Paucima” bude prvi, jer je odluka o njegovu postavljanju, kao i odavanju počasti papi Ivanu Pavlu II., donesena jednoglasno, za razliku od brončane statue Franji Tuđmanu, prvom hrvatskom predsjedniku, na Rivi, i spomenika slobodi na mjestu nekadašnje Bajamontijeve fontane ispred Prokurativa.

Jedina udarna
Četvrta gardijska brigada osnovana je 28. travnja 1991. godine, a prvi borbeni zadatak bio joj je akcija oslobađanja Kruševa, a potom niz akcija na području od Zadra, preko Sinja, Drniša, Šibenika do oslobađanja Dubrovnika. Nakon toga brigada je sudjelovala u operaciji “Maslenica”, a onda u “Oluji” i “Maestralu”. Sve borbene zadaće “Pauci” su obavljali pod geslom “In hoc signo vinces” (u tom znaku pobjeđuješ op.a), a posebno joj služi na čast što nikada tijekom rata nisu izgubili bitku ili položaj te je stoga prozvana i jedinom “udarnom” brigadom u Hrvatskoj. Nažalost, tijekom Domovinskog rata poginula su 193 pripadnika postrojbe, čije su slike, zajedno sa slikama umrlih gardista, postavljene su u spomen-kapeli Vojarne “Sveti križ” na Dračevcu.

Idejno rješenje
Gradska uprava, naime, raspisala je otvoreni natječaj za njegovo idejno rješenje, a pozvano je pet umjetnika - Kažimir Hraste, Kuzma Kovačić, Jozo Vrdoljak, Slavomir Drinković te Tomislav Kršnjavi. Pobjednik natječaja odnijet će slavu i 70 tisuća kuna, drugonagrađeni 50, a trećeplasirani 30 tisuća kuna.
O izgledu spomenika legendarnoj hrvatskoj brigadi odlučivat će, pak, deveteročlani žiri u sastavu: Mate Milić, Jure Šundov, Zoran Jermaz, Josip Botteri, dr. sc. Drago Šimundža, Ante Verzotti, Ivan Mršić, dr. sc. Joško Belamarić te Joško Čelan. Inače, odavanje počasti IV. gardijskoj brigadi, popularnim “Pucima” koji su u Domovinskom ratu predstavljali elitnu postrojbu Hrvatske vojske, jedan je od četiriju spomenika koja iza sebe namjerava ostaviti gradonačelnik Kerum.
Očekivano, gradska uprava odlučila se da spomenik “Paucima” bude prvi, jer je odluka o njegovu postavljanju, kao i odavanju počasti papi Ivanu Pavlu II., donesena jednoglasno, za razliku od brončane statue Franji Tuđmanu, prvom hrvatskom predsjedniku, na Rivi, i spomenika slobodi na mjestu nekadašnje Bajamontijeve fontane ispred Prokurativa.

Jedina udarna
Četvrta gardijska brigada osnovana je 28. travnja 1991. godine, a prvi borbeni zadatak bio joj je akcija oslobađanja Kruševa, a potom niz akcija na području od Zadra, preko Sinja, Drniša, Šibenika do oslobađanja Dubrovnika. Nakon toga brigada je sudjelovala u operaciji “Maslenica”, a onda u “Oluji” i “Maestralu”. Sve borbene zadaće “Pauci” su obavljali pod geslom “In hoc signo vinces” (u tom znaku pobjeđuješ op.a), a posebno joj služi na čast što nikada tijekom rata nisu izgubili bitku ili položaj te je stoga prozvana i jedinom “udarnom” brigadom u Hrvatskoj. Nažalost, tijekom Domovinskog rata poginula su 193 pripadnika postrojbe, čije su slike, zajedno sa slikama umrlih gardista, postavljene su u spomen-kapeli Vojarne “Sveti križ” na Dračevcu.
