Chia sjemenke za koje izvan Srednje Amerike do prije nekoliko godina gotovo nitko nije ni čuo brzo su se udomaćile u svakom kutku svijeta. Postoje mnoge kulinarske primjene za ove sitne sjemenčice, uključujući izradu niskokaloričnog pudinga, kašice od zobenih pahuljica i smoothieja bogatih vlaknima, a mnogi ih konzumiraju i zbog njihove visoke nutritivne vrijednosti - bogate su proteinima i omega-3 masnim kiselinama te mikronutrijentima poput željeza, cinka i kalcija zbog čega su saveznik u mršavljenju, poboljšanju cirkulacije, probave i imuniteta te za zdravlje kostiju.

Zbog svega navedenog izvrstan su dodatak prehrani, no manje je poznato da je moguće konzumirati previše chia sjemenki i to ne bez posljedica.  Bogat sadržaj vlakana u chia sjemenkama može uzrokovati probavne probleme kod osjetljivijih osoba, a u većim količinama mogu utjecati na krvni tlak, što nije zanemarivo za osobe koje piju lijekove za hipertenziju, kao i utjecati na razinu šećera u krvi, krvarenje i zgrušavanje. Nekuhane chia sjemenke, pak, predstavljaju i opasnost od gušenja.

Kako ih konzumirati na najbolji i najsigurniji način? Za početak, držite se propisanih količina koje ne bi smjele prelaziti tri pune žlice na dan. Druga preporuka je da ih nipošto ne jede ako nisu prokuhane ili dovoljno dugo namočene u tekućini da su je pretvorile u gel.

Ako vam ove zdrave sjemenčice izazivaju tegobe, razmislite o alternativama kao što su sjemenke lana, koje sadrže jednako bogatstvo proteina, zdravih masti i vlakana, a u kulinarstvu ih možete koristiti na jako slučan način, osobito ako vam treba "chia-jaje" (o tome smo vam nedavno pisali), a u istu svrhu zgušnjavanja možete koristiti i ljuskice psylliuma. Dobra alternativa  su i sjemenke konoplje, sezama, suncokreta ili bundeve, pšenične klice i kvinoja, koju smo vam nedavno nahvalili (podsjetite se ovdje), a sjajno mogu zamijeniti chia sjemenke u pudinzima i pecivima.

Chia sjemenke za koje izvan Srednje Amerike do prije nekoliko godina gotovo nitko nije ni čuo brzo su se udomaćile u svakom kutku svijeta. Postoje mnoge kulinarske primjene za ove sitne sjemenčice, uključujući izradu niskokaloričnog pudinga, kašice od zobenih pahuljica i smoothieja bogatih vlaknima, a mnogi ih konzumiraju i zbog njihove visoke nutritivne vrijednosti - bogate su proteinima i omega-3 masnim kiselinama te mikronutrijentima poput željeza, cinka i kalcija zbog čega su saveznik u mršavljenju, poboljšanju cirkulacije, probave i imuniteta te za zdravlje kostiju.

Zbog svega navedenog izvrstan su dodatak prehrani, no manje je poznato da je moguće konzumirati previše chia sjemenki i to ne bez posljedica.  Bogat sadržaj vlakana u chia sjemenkama može uzrokovati probavne probleme kod osjetljivijih osoba, a u većim količinama mogu utjecati na krvni tlak, što nije zanemarivo za osobe koje piju lijekove za hipertenziju, kao i utjecati na razinu šećera u krvi, krvarenje i zgrušavanje. Nekuhane chia sjemenke, pak, predstavljaju i opasnost od gušenja.

Kako ih konzumirati na najbolji i najsigurniji način? Za početak, držite se propisanih količina koje ne bi smjele prelaziti tri pune žlice na dan. Druga preporuka je da ih nipošto ne jede ako nisu prokuhane ili dovoljno dugo namočene u tekućini da su je pretvorile u gel.

Ako vam ove zdrave sjemenčice izazivaju tegobe, razmislite o alternativama kao što su sjemenke lana, koje sadrže jednako bogatstvo proteina, zdravih masti i vlakana, a u kulinarstvu ih možete koristiti na jako slučan način, osobito ako vam treba "chia-jaje" (o tome smo vam nedavno pisali), a u istu svrhu zgušnjavanja možete koristiti i ljuskice psylliuma. Dobra alternativa  su i sjemenke konoplje, sezama, suncokreta ili bundeve, pšenične klice i kvinoja, koju smo vam nedavno nahvalili (podsjetite se ovdje), a sjajno mogu zamijeniti chia sjemenke u pudinzima i pecivima.

Chia sjemenke za koje izvan Srednje Amerike do prije nekoliko godina gotovo nitko nije ni čuo brzo su se udomaćile u svakom kutku svijeta. Postoje mnoge kulinarske primjene za ove sitne sjemenčice, uključujući izradu niskokaloričnog pudinga, kašice od zobenih pahuljica i smoothieja bogatih vlaknima, a mnogi ih konzumiraju i zbog njihove visoke nutritivne vrijednosti - bogate su proteinima i omega-3 masnim kiselinama te mikronutrijentima poput željeza, cinka i kalcija zbog čega su saveznik u mršavljenju, poboljšanju cirkulacije, probave i imuniteta te za zdravlje kostiju.
