Ginger Baker, legendarni britanski bubnjar rock i blues grupe iz 60-ih, "Cream", umro je u nedjelju u bolnici u koju je primljen u kritičnom stanju prije desetak dana, objavila je na Twitteru njegova obitelj.

Članovi benda, Ginger, basist Jack Bruce i gitarist Eric Clapton u manje od dvije godine prodali su 35 milijuna ploča i proslavili se hitovima poput "I Feel Free", "Sunshine of Your Love", "White Room" i "Crossroads".

Ginger je jedan od osnivača grupe "Cream" iz hipijevskih 60-ih, koji je regrutirao Erica Claptona i Jacka Brucea u bend 1966. godine.

Cream se smatra prvim 'superbendom' dosad, premda se raspao nakon samo tri godine na vrhuncu karijere. Njihov album 'Wheels of Fire' bio je prvi dvostruki platinasti album na svijetu.

Godine 1969. je s Claptonom, Ricom Greshom i Steveom Winwoodom osnovao grupu "Blind Faith", a nakon toga 1970. vlastiti sastav Ginger Baker's Air Force koji je eksperimentirao s jazzom i rockom.

Gingera smatraju jednim od najboljih britanskih bubnjara svih vremena.

Zbog višegodišnjeg pušenja i do 50 cigareta dnevno Ginger je 2013. obolio od KOPB-a (kronične opstruktivne bolesti pluća), a zbog degenerativnog osteoartritisa patio je od kronične boli u leđima. Usto je prije tri godine podvrgnut operaciji srca.

Na njegovo je zdravlje bez sumnje pridonijela i 20 godina duga borba s ovisnošću o heroinu, koje se uspio riješiti tek 1981. godine.

Ginger Baker, legendarni britanski bubnjar rock i blues grupe iz 60-ih, "Cream", umro je u nedjelju u bolnici u koju je primljen u kritičnom stanju prije desetak dana, objavila je na Twitteru njegova obitelj.

Članovi benda, Ginger, basist Jack Bruce i gitarist Eric Clapton u manje od dvije godine prodali su 35 milijuna ploča i proslavili se hitovima poput "I Feel Free", "Sunshine of Your Love", "White Room" i "Crossroads".

Ginger je jedan od osnivača grupe "Cream" iz hipijevskih 60-ih, koji je regrutirao Erica Claptona i Jacka Brucea u bend 1966. godine.

Cream se smatra prvim 'superbendom' dosad, premda se raspao nakon samo tri godine na vrhuncu karijere. Njihov album 'Wheels of Fire' bio je prvi dvostruki platinasti album na svijetu.

Godine 1969. je s Claptonom, Ricom Greshom i Steveom Winwoodom osnovao grupu "Blind Faith", a nakon toga 1970. vlastiti sastav Ginger Baker's Air Force koji je eksperimentirao s jazzom i rockom.

Gingera smatraju jednim od najboljih britanskih bubnjara svih vremena.

Zbog višegodišnjeg pušenja i do 50 cigareta dnevno Ginger je 2013. obolio od KOPB-a (kronične opstruktivne bolesti pluća), a zbog degenerativnog osteoartritisa patio je od kronične boli u leđima. Usto je prije tri godine podvrgnut operaciji srca.

Na njegovo je zdravlje bez sumnje pridonijela i 20 godina duga borba s ovisnošću o heroinu, koje se uspio riješiti tek 1981. godine.
