Deseci tisuća ljudi marširali su u Bratislavi u nedjelju zahtijevajući potpunu zabranu pobačaja u Slovačkoj.
Slovački zakoni o pobačaju liberalni su, u usporedbi s Poljskom i Maltom koje imaju najstrože zakone u Europskoj uniji te najčešće dopuštaju pobačaj samo u slučajevima silovanja.
U Slovačkoj je pobačaj legalan do 12. tjedna trudnoće, a zbog zdravstvenih razloga može biti odobren do 24. tjedna trudnoće.
Konzervativni i krajnje desni zastupnici žele dopustiti pobačaj do šest ili osam tjedana trudnoće ili ga potpuno zabraniti.
Parlament će ovoga mjeseca raspravljati o prijedlozima zakona o pobačaju koji predviđaju ograničenja.
Nije jasno hoće li takav prijedlog postati zakon budući da vladajući socijaldemokratski Smer, konzervativan u društvenim pitanjima i manji partner u koaliciji desno centristička Slovačka nacionalna stranka, nisu rekli hoće li podržati neki od zakonskih prijedloga.
Broj pobačaja opada u Slovačkoj te je, u toj zemlji s 5, 4 milijuna stanovnika, prošle godine izvedeno šest tisuća tih postupaka, a prije deset godina gotovo 10 tisuća.
Anketa pokazuje da se 55, 5 posto Slovaka protivi restrikcijama prava na pobačaj, dok ih 34, 6 posto podupire.
Prosvjednici sa sloganima "Čovjek je čovjek neovisno o veličini" i "Tko ubije nerođeno dijete ubija budućnost nacije" marširali su ulicama Bratislave zahtijevajući potpunu zabranu pobačaja, uključujući zabranu u slučajevima silovanja ili teške malformacije fetusa.
"Život svakog čovjeka je neprocjenjiv, stoga mora biti zaštićen od početka do prirodne smrti", rekao je jedan od organizatora prosvjeda, koje podupire Katolička crkva, na pozornici.
Organizatori procjenjuju da je na prosvjedu sudjelovalo oko 50 tisuća ljudi.
Vladajući Smer je na vlasti u Slovačkoj, gotovo bez prestanka od 2006., a izgradio je podršku gospodarskim rastom i ulaganjem u socijalnu državu te društveno konzervativnom politikom.
Uoči izbora iduće godine Smer je obećao podržati zakonsku zabranu homoseksualnih brakova i zabranu usvajanja djece za istospolne brakove.
Slovački zakon ne priznaje životno partnerstvo osoba istoga spola.
Prema posljednjem popisu stanovništva iz 2011. katolici čine 66 posto, a protestanti devet posto stanovništva Slovačke.

Deseci tisuća ljudi marširali su u Bratislavi u nedjelju zahtijevajući potpunu zabranu pobačaja u Slovačkoj.
Slovački zakoni o pobačaju liberalni su, u usporedbi s Poljskom i Maltom koje imaju najstrože zakone u Europskoj uniji te najčešće dopuštaju pobačaj samo u slučajevima silovanja.
U Slovačkoj je pobačaj legalan do 12. tjedna trudnoće, a zbog zdravstvenih razloga može biti odobren do 24. tjedna trudnoće.
Konzervativni i krajnje desni zastupnici žele dopustiti pobačaj do šest ili osam tjedana trudnoće ili ga potpuno zabraniti.
Parlament će ovoga mjeseca raspravljati o prijedlozima zakona o pobačaju koji predviđaju ograničenja.
Nije jasno hoće li takav prijedlog postati zakon budući da vladajući socijaldemokratski Smer, konzervativan u društvenim pitanjima i manji partner u koaliciji desno centristička Slovačka nacionalna stranka, nisu rekli hoće li podržati neki od zakonskih prijedloga.
Broj pobačaja opada u Slovačkoj te je, u toj zemlji s 5, 4 milijuna stanovnika, prošle godine izvedeno šest tisuća tih postupaka, a prije deset godina gotovo 10 tisuća.
Anketa pokazuje da se 55, 5 posto Slovaka protivi restrikcijama prava na pobačaj, dok ih 34, 6 posto podupire.
Prosvjednici sa sloganima "Čovjek je čovjek neovisno o veličini" i "Tko ubije nerođeno dijete ubija budućnost nacije" marširali su ulicama Bratislave zahtijevajući potpunu zabranu pobačaja, uključujući zabranu u slučajevima silovanja ili teške malformacije fetusa.
"Život svakog čovjeka je neprocjenjiv, stoga mora biti zaštićen od početka do prirodne smrti", rekao je jedan od organizatora prosvjeda, koje podupire Katolička crkva, na pozornici.
Organizatori procjenjuju da je na prosvjedu sudjelovalo oko 50 tisuća ljudi.
Vladajući Smer je na vlasti u Slovačkoj, gotovo bez prestanka od 2006., a izgradio je podršku gospodarskim rastom i ulaganjem u socijalnu državu te društveno konzervativnom politikom.
Uoči izbora iduće godine Smer je obećao podržati zakonsku zabranu homoseksualnih brakova i zabranu usvajanja djece za istospolne brakove.
Slovački zakon ne priznaje životno partnerstvo osoba istoga spola.
Prema posljednjem popisu stanovništva iz 2011. katolici čine 66 posto, a protestanti devet posto stanovništva Slovačke.
