Deborah Babu iz Sacramenta u Kaliforniji zaljubila se u Saitotyja Babua dok je 2017. godine putovala Tanzanijom sa svojom kćeri Royce.
60-godišnja Deborah ostala je u kontaktu s 30-godišnjim Saitotyjem, a u prosincu iste godine se vratila u Tanzaniju i prihvatila njegovu bračnu ponudu.
Nakon što su imali tradicionalnu ceremoniju u lipnju 2018., u srpnju ove godine imali su “zapadnjačko” vjenčanje. Nadaju se da će moći organizirati i veće Maasai slavlje, na kojem će se okupiti još više članova obitelji i plemena.

Deborah, koja sada koristi svoje Maasai ime Nashipai, živi sa svojim novim mužem i njegovom obitelji u Tanzaniji. No nisu svi oduševljeni njihovom srećom. Kaže da su je stranci znali pitati je li ga posvojila.
“Saitoty je optužen da je sa mnom samo zbog zelene karte što boli jer znam da nema veliku želju ići u Ameriku”, prepričala je Deborah, piše Daily Mail.
Upoznali su se na plaži u Zanzibaru kada su Deborah i Royce naletjele na dvojicu pripadnika plemena Maasai. Saitoty im je tada ponudio suvenire. Deborah je odbila, ali je pitala može li se fotografirati s njim jer nikada nije upoznala pripadnika plemena Maasai.

“Nismo imale novca sa sobom, ali sam pitala možemo li se fotografirati jer nikad nisam upoznala Maasaija. Sada kad pogledam tu fotografiju, čini se kao da smo se zaljubili na prvi pogled. Saitoty me zamolio da mu pošaljem fotografiju i ostali smo u kontaktu nakon što je dobio moj broj, a sljedeće večeri se pridružio meni i kćeri u šetnji”, ispričala je.
Kaže da su otkrili da imaju puno toga zajedničkog, poput smisla za humor. Tijekom njihove posljednje večeri u Zanzibaru, Saitoty je pozvao Deboru i Royce na ples, no one su ga odbile.
“Moja kći je iznenada ušla i rekla mi da je Saitoty došao u naš hotel. Bio je uznemiren što ne dolazim i što odlazim sljedeći dan. Rekla sam mu da možemo ostati u kontaktu ako želi”, prepričava Deborah, koja u početku nije vidjela romantičnu budućnost za njih zbog razlike u godinama.

“Bila sam sretna, slobodna žena i nije mi se činilo u redu izlaziti s nekim tko je 30 godina mlađi od mene”, rekla je, no kasnije su se stvari promijenile. Saitoty ju je zvao svakog dana i dao joj je do znanja da je želi oženiti.
“Moja starija kći, Tiffany i sin Sherrick, upoznali su ga na FaceTimeu i svidio im se. Nisu imali problema s razlikom u godinama i rekli su mi da ako sam sretna s njim da trebam biti s njim”, ispričala je.
Sada žive u Tanzaniji u vlastitoj kući od blata.

“Kuhamo na vatri i nemamo tekuće vode. Trenutačno gradimo kolibu i čak moramo sami osmisliti ljestve. Saitoty nikad nije jeo sladoled ili ribu prije nego što je upoznao mene. Ovdje u Tanzaniji život je posve drugačiji, ali ja sam sretna”, ispričala je Deborah.
Saitoty, koji se bavi uzgojem stoke, kaže da kad je prvi put vidio Deboru, da se osjećao kao da je vidio anđela.
“Zajedno smo se smijali i fotografirali, a ona mi je jednostavno rastopila srce. Ona je lijepa i draga i podržava me. Za mene je veliki korak biti u braku. Ponosan sam na naš brak. Stvarno me boli kad čujem zlobne komentare, ali u većini slučajeva samo ignoriramo takve stvari. Godine su samo broj i one nisu prepreka ljubavi i brizi koju osjećam prema svojoj ženi”, objasnio je.

Deborah Babu iz Sacramenta u Kaliforniji zaljubila se u Saitotyja Babua dok je 2017. godine putovala Tanzanijom sa svojom kćeri Royce.
60-godišnja Deborah ostala je u kontaktu s 30-godišnjim Saitotyjem, a u prosincu iste godine se vratila u Tanzaniju i prihvatila njegovu bračnu ponudu.
Nakon što su imali tradicionalnu ceremoniju u lipnju 2018., u srpnju ove godine imali su “zapadnjačko” vjenčanje. Nadaju se da će moći organizirati i veće Maasai slavlje, na kojem će se okupiti još više članova obitelji i plemena.

Deborah, koja sada koristi svoje Maasai ime Nashipai, živi sa svojim novim mužem i njegovom obitelji u Tanzaniji. No nisu svi oduševljeni njihovom srećom. Kaže da su je stranci znali pitati je li ga posvojila.
“Saitoty je optužen da je sa mnom samo zbog zelene karte što boli jer znam da nema veliku želju ići u Ameriku”, prepričala je Deborah, piše Daily Mail.
Upoznali su se na plaži u Zanzibaru kada su Deborah i Royce naletjele na dvojicu pripadnika plemena Maasai. Saitoty im je tada ponudio suvenire. Deborah je odbila, ali je pitala može li se fotografirati s njim jer nikada nije upoznala pripadnika plemena Maasai.

“Nismo imale novca sa sobom, ali sam pitala možemo li se fotografirati jer nikad nisam upoznala Maasaija. Sada kad pogledam tu fotografiju, čini se kao da smo se zaljubili na prvi pogled. Saitoty me zamolio da mu pošaljem fotografiju i ostali smo u kontaktu nakon što je dobio moj broj, a sljedeće večeri se pridružio meni i kćeri u šetnji”, ispričala je.
Kaže da su otkrili da imaju puno toga zajedničkog, poput smisla za humor. Tijekom njihove posljednje večeri u Zanzibaru, Saitoty je pozvao Deboru i Royce na ples, no one su ga odbile.
“Moja kći je iznenada ušla i rekla mi da je Saitoty došao u naš hotel. Bio je uznemiren što ne dolazim i što odlazim sljedeći dan. Rekla sam mu da možemo ostati u kontaktu ako želi”, prepričava Deborah, koja u početku nije vidjela romantičnu budućnost za njih zbog razlike u godinama.

“Bila sam sretna, slobodna žena i nije mi se činilo u redu izlaziti s nekim tko je 30 godina mlađi od mene”, rekla je, no kasnije su se stvari promijenile. Saitoty ju je zvao svakog dana i dao joj je do znanja da je želi oženiti.
“Moja starija kći, Tiffany i sin Sherrick, upoznali su ga na FaceTimeu i svidio im se. Nisu imali problema s razlikom u godinama i rekli su mi da ako sam sretna s njim da trebam biti s njim”, ispričala je.
Sada žive u Tanzaniji u vlastitoj kući od blata.

“Kuhamo na vatri i nemamo tekuće vode. Trenutačno gradimo kolibu i čak moramo sami osmisliti ljestve. Saitoty nikad nije jeo sladoled ili ribu prije nego što je upoznao mene. Ovdje u Tanzaniji život je posve drugačiji, ali ja sam sretna”, ispričala je Deborah.
Saitoty, koji se bavi uzgojem stoke, kaže da kad je prvi put vidio Deboru, da se osjećao kao da je vidio anđela.
“Zajedno smo se smijali i fotografirali, a ona mi je jednostavno rastopila srce. Ona je lijepa i draga i podržava me. Za mene je veliki korak biti u braku. Ponosan sam na naš brak. Stvarno me boli kad čujem zlobne komentare, ali u većini slučajeva samo ignoriramo takve stvari. Godine su samo broj i one nisu prepreka ljubavi i brizi koju osjećam prema svojoj ženi”, objasnio je.
