U krajnje neobičnom medicinskom slučaju ispostavilo se da je osoba koja je u Italiji prolazila tranziciju iz ženskog u muški spol, a koja se približavala završetku cijelog procesa tako što joj je trebala biti izvađena maternica - trudna čak pet mjeseci.

O slučaju je izvijestio talijanski dnevni list La Republica, koji je osobu koja prolazi tranziciju prozvao Marco: "Marco, kako ćemo nazvati protagonista priče, nije se prepoznao u svojem tijelu. Osjećao se kao muškarac, a ne kao žena. Tako je počeo dug i težak put do promjene spola."

Za Marca je prije svega to bio psihološki proces koji je utvrdio spolnu nedosljednost, a zatim je uslijedila hormonska terapija. Marcovo tijelo počelo se mijenjati te se uskoro podvrgnuo mastektomiji, operaciji uklanjanja grudi. Marcu je u tom periodu sudskim procesom odobrena promjena identiteta u službenim dokumentima.

U posljednjem koraku tranzicije Marco se trebao podvrgnuti histerektomiji, operaciji uklanjanja maternice. No, tada su šokirani kirurzi ustanovili da je Marco - u petom mjesecu trudnoće.

- Ovo medicinsko stanje stvara vrlo složenu situaciju s kojom se trenutno suočavaju liječnici u Rimu. Nakon otkrivanja trudnoće ključna je trenutna obustava hormonske terapije - rekla je Giulia Senofonte, endokrinologinja iz Rima za list La Republica.

- Ako se terapija ne prekine odmah, može doći do posljedica, osobito u prva tri mjeseca trudnoće, što je delikatno vrijeme za razvoj djetetovih organa - rekla je Senofonte.

Visoke razine muških i ženskih hormona predstavljaju kardiološki rizik zbog mogućih problema s krvnim tlakom i koagulacijom.

Iako hormonska terapija blokira menstrualni ciklus, ona ne djeluje kao kontracepcija, te se osobe koje prolaze kroz tranziciju savjetuje da koriste kontracepcijske pilule i tijekom hormonske terapije. Situacija s Marcom je komplicirana jer talijanski zakon dopušta pobačaj nakon 90 dana samo u slučajevima ozbiljnih malformacija fetusa ili značajnih zdravstvenih rizika za majku.

Ako Marco trudnoću stoga iznese do kraja, on će postati biološka majka i zakoniti otac, što također predstavlja izazov, posebno u zemlji u kojoj istospolne obitelji još nemaju određena prava. Talijanske vlasti pod konzervativnom agendom premijerke Giorgie Meloni donose nove mjere usmjerene na LGBTQ+ obitelji i otežavaju im rađanje djece. Umjetna oplodnja ili posvajanje nisu opcija za LGBTQ+ parove, a posljednjih mjeseci vode se burne rasprave o zakonu koji će pokušati kriminalizirati surogat-majčinstvo u inozemstvu.

Toni Brandi, predsjednik konzervativne katoličke organizacije Pro Vita e Famiglia, izrazio je nadu da bi trudnoća mogla potaknuti Marca da preispita i prihvati spol koji je pripisan rođenju. Brandi je kritizirao teorije rodne fluidnosti, ustvrdivši da žena ostaje žena, bez obzira na samopercepciju, te da ovaj slučaj osporava takve teorije ističući biološku sposobnost za rađanje.

- Ako sebe sutra doživljavam kao ženu, to me ne čini sposobnom roditi dijete - izjavio je.

U krajnje neobičnom medicinskom slučaju ispostavilo se da je osoba koja je u Italiji prolazila tranziciju iz ženskog u muški spol, a koja se približavala završetku cijelog procesa tako što joj je trebala biti izvađena maternica - trudna čak pet mjeseci.

O slučaju je izvijestio talijanski dnevni list La Republica, koji je osobu koja prolazi tranziciju prozvao Marco: "Marco, kako ćemo nazvati protagonista priče, nije se prepoznao u svojem tijelu. Osjećao se kao muškarac, a ne kao žena. Tako je počeo dug i težak put do promjene spola."

Za Marca je prije svega to bio psihološki proces koji je utvrdio spolnu nedosljednost, a zatim je uslijedila hormonska terapija. Marcovo tijelo počelo se mijenjati te se uskoro podvrgnuo mastektomiji, operaciji uklanjanja grudi. Marcu je u tom periodu sudskim procesom odobrena promjena identiteta u službenim dokumentima.

U posljednjem koraku tranzicije Marco se trebao podvrgnuti histerektomiji, operaciji uklanjanja maternice. No, tada su šokirani kirurzi ustanovili da je Marco - u petom mjesecu trudnoće.

- Ovo medicinsko stanje stvara vrlo složenu situaciju s kojom se trenutno suočavaju liječnici u Rimu. Nakon otkrivanja trudnoće ključna je trenutna obustava hormonske terapije - rekla je Giulia Senofonte, endokrinologinja iz Rima za list La Republica.

- Ako se terapija ne prekine odmah, može doći do posljedica, osobito u prva tri mjeseca trudnoće, što je delikatno vrijeme za razvoj djetetovih organa - rekla je Senofonte.

Visoke razine muških i ženskih hormona predstavljaju kardiološki rizik zbog mogućih problema s krvnim tlakom i koagulacijom.

Iako hormonska terapija blokira menstrualni ciklus, ona ne djeluje kao kontracepcija, te se osobe koje prolaze kroz tranziciju savjetuje da koriste kontracepcijske pilule i tijekom hormonske terapije. Toni Brandi, predsjednik konzervativne katoličke organizacije Pro Vita e Famiglia, izrazio je nadu da bi trudnoća mogla potaknuti Marca da preispita i prihvati spol koji je pripisan rođenju.
