Svaki pokušaj selfija izaziva vam frustraciju i nije vam jasno zašto vaše frendice na "sebićima" izgledaju bolje nego vi na vašima? Niste jedini, što vas u neku ruku može utješiti. Ako vas ne tješi, možda će vas utješiti jedna psihološka činjenica, piše Gloria.
Naime, ako niste izbrisali baš sve fotografije i ponovno ste ih evaluirali danima nakon fotografiranja, ili čak nakon par mjeseci i godina, možda ste zaključili da čak i niste loše ispali. Onog početnog hejta više nema i izgledate si sasvim dobro.
Ali što to govori o percepciji naše vlastite ljepote, kako u ovom trenutku, tako i tijekom dugog vremenskog razdoblja? Na to pitanje odgovorili su psiholozi za Instyle koji imaju čak nekoliko teorija zašto si izgledamo bolje kada prođe neko vrijeme.
"Kad god nešto procjenjujemo - bilo da se radi o ljepoti, okusu, onome što imamo, to se nikada ne temelji na apsolutnoj vrijednosti koju ta stvar ima ili u pogledu društvenih mreža - je li vrijedno ili nije vrijedno objave. To znači da vaša fotografija nije objektivno ni ‘dobra‘ ni ‘loša‘", rekla je dr. sc. Aenne Brielmann, psihologinja i postdoktorandica koja proučava ljepotu i estetiku na Institutu Max Planck za biološku kibernetiku u Njemačkoj.
Brielmann tvrdi da je naša procjena uvijek u odnosu na naša očekivanja koja su prema samima sebi prilično visoka, a nekad i nerealna.
"Ako očekujemo da će naša fotografija biti bolja od prosjeka, a dobijemo prosječnu fotografiju, veća je vjerojatnost da ćemo biti razočarani. To je dobra fotografija, ali očekivali smo da ćemo imati izvrsnu. Ako tražimo loše stvari, onda ćemo ih i pronaći", dodala je Brielmann.
Efekt nostalgije
Brielmann kaže da je upitno možemo li kasnije procijeniti fotografiju neovisno o sjećanjima koja su s njom povezana. To znači da sjećanje na lijepa vremena, čak i ako su ona bila nedavno, čini procjenu fotografije pozitivnijom. Dakle, skloni smo vidjeti ljepotu kao dio cjelokupnog pozitivnog iskustva, obojenog nostalgijom i lišenog bilo kakvih stresnih faktora koji su nas mučili u tom trenutku.
"Skloni smo odbacivanju negativnih sjećanja, osim onih vrlo averzivnih i stvarnih prijetnji, tako da se uglavnom sjećamo samo dobrih vremena", napominje Brielmann.
Srednja škola i fakultet izvrsni su primjeri. Vjerojatno ste bili pod velikim stresom kao tinejdžer, ali kad kasnije pogledate fotografije, vjerojatno ćete pomisliti "bilo je zabavno".
Brielmann priznaje da je prirodno željeti izgledati bolje. Ali kada pogledate sliku iz srednje škole, želite li se stvarno poboljšati? Ne možete. Ili možda već jeste. U svakom slučaju, ona je druga osoba, a ne onakva kakvu poznajete danas. Čak i ako vam se ne sviđa vaša frizura ili odjeća na toj fotografiji, bitno je da osjećate suosjećanje prema toj verziji sebe i ne budete uvijek sebi najveći kritičar, piše Gloria.
Budite blagi prema sebi i prekinite krug toksičnog kritiziranja koje vam ne donosi apsolutno ništa osim čangrizavosti i lošeg raspoloženja. A tako sigurno ne želite živjeti do kraja života, zar ne?

Svaki pokušaj selfija izaziva vam frustraciju i nije vam jasno zašto vaše frendice na "sebićima" izgledaju bolje nego vi na vašima? Niste jedini, što vas u neku ruku može utješiti. Ako vas ne tješi, možda će vas utješiti jedna psihološka činjenica, piše Gloria.
Naime, ako niste izbrisali baš sve fotografije i ponovno ste ih evaluirali danima nakon fotografiranja, ili čak nakon par mjeseci i godina, možda ste zaključili da čak i niste loše ispali. Onog početnog hejta više nema i izgledate si sasvim dobro.
Ali što to govori o percepciji naše vlastite ljepote, kako u ovom trenutku, tako i tijekom dugog vremenskog razdoblja? Na to pitanje odgovorili su psiholozi za Instyle koji imaju čak nekoliko teorija zašto si izgledamo bolje kada prođe neko vrijeme.
"Kad god nešto procjenjujemo - bilo da se radi o ljepoti, okusu, onome što imamo, to se nikada ne temelji na apsolutnoj vrijednosti koju ta stvar ima ili u pogledu društvenih mreža - je li vrijedno ili nije vrijedno objave. To znači da vaša fotografija nije objektivno ni ‘dobra‘ ni ‘loša‘", rekla je dr. sc. Aenne Brielmann, psihologinja i postdoktorandica koja proučava ljepotu i estetiku na Institutu Max Planck za biološku kibernetiku u Njemačkoj.
Brielmann tvrdi da je naša procjena uvijek u odnosu na naša očekivanja koja su prema samima sebi prilično visoka, a nekad i nerealna.
"Ako očekujemo da će naša fotografija biti bolja od prosjeka, a dobijemo prosječnu fotografiju, veća je vjerojatnost da ćemo biti razočarani. To je dobra fotografija, ali očekivali smo da ćemo imati izvrsnu. Ako tražimo loše stvari, onda ćemo ih i pronaći", dodala je Brielmann.
Efekt nostalgije
Brielmann kaže da je upitno možemo li kasnije procijeniti fotografiju neovisno o sjećanjima koja su s njom povezana. To znači da sjećanje na lijepa vremena, čak i ako su ona bila nedavno, čini procjenu fotografije pozitivnijom. Dakle, skloni smo vidjeti ljepotu kao dio cjelokupnog pozitivnog iskustva, obojenog nostalgijom i lišenog bilo kakvih stresnih faktora koji su nas mučili u tom trenutku.
"Skloni smo odbacivanju negativnih sjećanja, osim onih vrlo averzivnih i stvarnih prijetnji, tako da se uglavnom sjećamo samo dobrih vremena", napominje Brielmann.
Srednja škola i fakultet izvrsni su primjeri. Vjerojatno ste bili pod velikim stresom kao tinejdžer, ali kad kasnije pogledate fotografije, vjerojatno ćete pomisliti "bilo je zabavno".
Brielmann priznaje da je prirodno željeti izgledati bolje. Ali kada pogledate sliku iz srednje škole, želite li se stvarno poboljšati? Ne možete. Ili možda već jeste. U svakom slučaju, ona je druga osoba, a ne onakva kakvu poznajete danas. Čak i ako vam se ne sviđa vaša frizura ili odjeća na toj fotografiji, bitno je da osjećate suosjećanje prema toj verziji sebe i ne budete uvijek sebi najveći kritičar, piše Gloria.
Budite blagi prema sebi i prekinite krug toksičnog kritiziranja koje vam ne donosi apsolutno ništa osim čangrizavosti i lošeg raspoloženja. A tako sigurno ne želite živjeti do kraja života, zar ne?
