Ne znam je li još netko primijetio, ali u centru Splita nemoš skoro ništa kupiti. Ajde, moš kupiti žute pačiće koji se nude na nekoliko lokacija, ali kome treba žuti pačić? Pojma nemam. Ne razumijem tržišnu logiku iza tri butige s plastičnim pačićima. Da su jestivi, ni po’ jada, ali ovako... Nisam još ušla ni u jednu od tih trgovina da izbliza osjetim njihovu mističnu privlačnost.
Ostale su tri, četiri butige od cipela, a donedavno ih je bilo na svakom kantunu i za svaki džep, a konfekcije nema ni za lijek, sve je ili odselilo ili propalo. Da bi se pristojna žena, majka i silom domaćica odjenula, mora ići na periferiju u šoping centar – što s indignacijom odbijam jer mrzim šoping centre – ili kupovati onlajn. U mene, posljedično, dostavljači češće svraćaju nego članovi familije. Zato silom domaćica u centru grada može žderati i lokati kad god poželi i šta god poželi. Recimo “asian spices”. Jebate život... Kome trebaju kineski začini?
– Sad vam je to u modi – rekla mi je tetica iz susjedstva, zaposlena u jednoj takvoj butigi. – Svi oće azijsku hranu.
– Ma čekajte – velim ja. – Koju azijsku hranu? Šta? Šišmiše? Mačke?
– Nemojte tako – nasmijala se teta. – Jedu oni i piletinu. I prasetinu.
– Ali dobro – opet ću ja. – Šta je azijsko u prasetini i piletini?
– Začini! – spremno odgovori teta.
Nisam nos promolila ni u jednu od tih radnji. Mislim, prasetinu skoro i ne jedemo, osim kad se tu i tamo dokopamo pršuta ili pancete iz Promine, a što se piletine tiče, ne kužim šta fali našim začinima. Kad je ono Zakoniti prije nekoliko godina poslovno gostovao u Pekingu, vratio se, nevoljnik, gladan svega. Njegov ga je domaćin smjestio u normalni kineski hotel u kojem odsjedaju normalni kineski ljudi, a ne turisti, i on je danima preko Skajpa kukao kako je spiza užasna, kako svako jelo ima isti okus i kako kruva uopće nema, te kako je prva trgovina “u susjedstvu hotela” na nekih pola ure vožnje. Njegovo kinesko iskustvo bilo je takvo da je glatko odbio ponudu domaćina, uglednog dekana nekog uglednog fakulteta, da nas dvoje – alo, oboje! – iduće godine ugosti na cijelih mjesec dana.
– Prvo i prvo – rekao je Zakoniti – let do tamo traje desetak sati, a ti desetak sati nemoš bez cigarete. Drugo i drugo, ženo božja, ta hrana... Oni kusaju ki blesavi neke nudle, a meni se drob okreće...
– Baš si nudl – rekla sam ja. – Izdržala bih ja deset sati bez duvana, nisam toliki džanki.
– Jesi, jesi – rekao je on.
– A i šta fali, upoznati malo druge kulture – rekla sam ja.
– Ljube – kazao je Zakoniti – ako ti se upoznavaju druge kulture, ili ih upoznavaj bez mene, ili se drži History kanala. Ja ti više ni mrtav ne idem u Kinu.
– A Japan? – upitala sam ga.
– Isti đavo! – kategorički je rekao.
No zato su asian spices shopovi svuda po Splitu. A nešto baš i ne vidim asian tourists. Sve neki Amerikanci i Englezi. I svi odreda su prihvatili splitske đireve u kojima je dvi godine nešto jako u modi, poslije se moda premjesti, a prethodna turbo destinacija bude zaboravljena. Prolazim nekidan niz Plinarsku. Red od pedeset metara ispred restorana kojeg je prije držao Aljoša Asanović. Sad je to skroz drukčije mjesto gdje stranci stoje u redu na ulici u deset ujutro da bi jeli. Satima stoje i mirno čekaju. U deset ujutro. Ne kužim.
– To ti je Cucina Mare – kaže Zakoniti. – Taj đir traje još od lani, Cucina Mare je magnet za turiste.
– Bogati? – pogledam ga ja. – Ol je ti poznaš?
– Koga?
– Pa tu Maru? Šta joj je Cuce? Ćaća? – upitam ja.
On me je samo sažalno pogledao kao što se i inače pogleda glupasta osoba.
– Misliš Kučina Mare? – shvatim konačno talijansku jezičnu logiku.
– Ne znam je li iz Kučina – odgovori on. – Ali dobro joj ide i u Splitu.
Slastičarna, međutim, u kojoj je, sjećate se, i Kolinda Grabar Kitarović strpljivo stajala u redu ne bi li se domogla sladoleda, sad je ispala iz đira. Ni reda, ni navale. Istina, Kolinda je dotjerala liniju, vidjela sam na portalima, ne bi joj bilo ni pametno nasrtati na slatkiše, ali...
Ima slatkoguzog svijeta i bez nje. Ali svijet se premjestio dolje, još bliže centru centra Splita, kraj nekadašnje željezare Mikačić koja je davno rahmetli i gdje je sada neki fensi-šmensi ugostiteljski objekt. Pedeset ljudi, a nisu svi ni debeli – ali bit će, ne brini! – stoji po pola ure u redu na toplom suncu babljeg ljeta i čeka sladoled. Ko da nema sladoleda i na drugim mjestima... Mislim, ja pola ure čekam jedino kad je za zdravlje, a za želudac... Brate mili, šta mogu drpiti odmah, super, a šta moram čekati, tome i ne prilazim.
Primjećujem i da su rujanski turisti, otkako je temperatura pala ispod trideset, malo pristojniji. Ima još onih šta goli hodaju po gradu, ali ih je znatno manje. Sad prevladavaju relativno normalno odjeveni ljudi koji, izgleda, nisu došli samo lokati i seksati se. Neki od njih su voljni i komunicirati s domorocima, a sve u svrhu upoznavanja drugih kultura. To jest naše kulture. Koja je raskošna i bombastična u svakom pogledu.
Eno, nekidan je na Rivi – a gdje drugo? – održana trka za izlječenje, po naški Race for the Cure. Pokušali smo se, u znak podrške ljudima koji se bore ili su se izborili s karcinomom, pridružiti manifestaciji bez trčanja, ali nije nam pošlo za rukom. Za gužvu još kako-tako, ali buka iz pedesetak pojačala činila me izrazito nervoznom i nekako mi se nije dopala buvljačka atmosfera ogrnuta humanim ciljem. Ali, šta ću, do mene je, nije do manifestacije.
Međutim navečer... Sjedim na skalama baveći se meditacijom i udisanjem duvanskoga dima, kadli... Vatromet! I to veliki. Buba sve u šesnaest, sve mi srce preskače. Na kući preko puta otvore se grilje, otvori se prozor, a iznutra izviri ricava glava jednog evidentno stranog državljanina.
– Sorry! – zaviče put mene, a oči mu unezvijerene. – Is it national holiday? Or something?
– Just something – odgovorim ja. – Dont worry, be happy!
Tko će Amerikancu afričkog porijekla objasniti da se u ovom gradu borba protiv karcinoma obilježava vatrometom? Nema šanse.

Ne znam je li još netko primijetio, ali u centru Splita nemoš skoro ništa kupiti. Ajde, moš kupiti žute pačiće koji se nude na nekoliko lokacija, ali kome treba žuti pačić? Pojma nemam. Ne razumijem tržišnu logiku iza tri butige s plastičnim pačićima. Da su jestivi, ni po’ jada, ali ovako... Nisam još ušla ni u jednu od tih trgovina da izbliza osjetim njihovu mističnu privlačnost.
Ostale su tri, četiri butige od cipela, a donedavno ih je bilo na svakom kantunu i za svaki džep, a konfekcije nema ni za lijek, sve je ili odselilo ili propalo. Da bi se pristojna žena, majka i silom domaćica odjenula, mora ići na periferiju u šoping centar – što s indignacijom odbijam jer mrzim šoping centre – ili kupovati onlajn. U mene, posljedično, dostavljači češće svraćaju nego članovi familije. Zato silom domaćica u centru grada može žderati i lokati kad god poželi i šta god poželi. Recimo “asian spices”. Jebate život... Kome trebaju kineski začini?
– Sad vam je to u modi – rekla mi je tetica iz susjedstva, zaposlena u jednoj takvoj butigi. – Svi oće azijsku hranu.
– Ma čekajte – velim ja. – Koju azijsku hranu? Šta? Šišmiše? Mačke?
– Nemojte tako – nasmijala se teta. – Jedu oni i piletinu. I prasetinu.
– Ali dobro – opet ću ja. – Šta je azijsko u prasetini i piletini?
– Začini! – spremno odgovori teta.
Nisam nos promolila ni u jednu od tih radnji. Mislim, prasetinu skoro i ne jedemo, osim kad se tu i tamo dokopamo pršuta ili pancete iz Promine, a što se piletine tiče, ne kužim šta fali našim začinima. Kad je ono Zakoniti prije nekoliko godina poslovno gostovao u Pekingu, vratio se, nevoljnik, gladan svega. Njegov ga je domaćin smjestio u normalni kineski hotel u kojem odsjedaju normalni kineski ljudi, a ne turisti, i on je danima preko Skajpa kukao kako je spiza užasna, kako svako jelo ima isti okus i kako kruva uopće nema, te kako je prva trgovina “u susjedstvu hotela” na nekih pola ure vožnje. Njegovo kinesko iskustvo bilo je takvo da je glatko odbio ponudu domaćina, uglednog dekana nekog uglednog fakulteta, da nas dvoje – alo, oboje! – iduće godine ugosti na cijelih mjesec dana.
– Prvo i prvo – rekao je Zakoniti – let do tamo traje desetak sati, a ti desetak sati nemoš bez cigarete. Drugo i drugo, ženo božja, ta hrana... Oni kusaju ki blesavi neke nudle, a meni se drob okreće...
– Baš si nudl – rekla sam ja. – Izdržala bih ja deset sati bez duvana, nisam toliki džanki.
– Jesi, jesi – rekao je on.
– A i šta fali, upoznati malo druge kulture – rekla sam ja.
– Ljube – kazao je Zakoniti – ako ti se upoznavaju druge kulture, ili ih upoznavaj bez mene, ili se drži History kanala. Ja ti više ni mrtav ne idem u Kinu.
– A Japan? – upitala sam ga.
– Isti đavo! – kategorički je rekao.
No zato su asian spices shopovi svuda po Splitu. A nešto baš i ne vidim asian tourists. Sve neki Amerikanci i Englezi. I svi odreda su prihvatili splitske đireve u kojima je dvi godine nešto jako u modi, poslije se moda premjesti, a prethodna turbo destinacija bude zaboravljena. Prolazim nekidan niz Plinarsku. Red od pedeset metara ispred restorana kojeg je prije držao Aljoša Asanović. Sad je to skroz drukčije mjesto gdje stranci stoje u redu na ulici u deset ujutro da bi jeli. Satima stoje i mirno čekaju. U deset ujutro. Ne kužim.
– To ti je Cucina Mare – kaže Zakoniti. – Taj đir traje još od lani, Cucina Mare je magnet za turiste.
– Bogati? – pogledam ga ja. – Ol je ti poznaš?
– Koga?
– Pa tu Maru? Šta joj je Cuce? Ćaća? – upitam ja.
On me je samo sažalno pogledao kao što se i inače pogleda glupasta osoba.
– Misliš Kučina Mare? – shvatim konačno talijansku jezičnu logiku.
– Ne znam je li iz Kučina – odgovori on. – Ali dobro joj ide i u Splitu.
Slastičarna, međutim, u kojoj je, sjećate se, i Kolinda Grabar Kitarović strpljivo stajala u redu ne bi li se domogla sladoleda, sad je ispala iz đira. Ni reda, ni navale. Istina, Kolinda je dotjerala liniju, vidjela sam na portalima, ne bi joj bilo ni pametno nasrtati na slatkiše, ali...
Ima slatkoguzog svijeta i bez nje. Ali svijet se premjestio dolje, još bliže centru centra Splita, kraj nekadašnje željezare Mikačić koja je davno rahmetli i gdje je sada neki fensi-šmensi ugostiteljski objekt. Pedeset ljudi, a nisu svi ni debeli – ali bit će, ne brini! – stoji po pola ure u redu na toplom suncu babljeg ljeta i čeka sladoled. Ko da nema sladoleda i na drugim mjestima... Mislim, ja pola ure čekam jedino kad je za zdravlje, a za želudac... Brate mili, šta mogu drpiti odmah, super, a šta moram čekati, tome i ne prilazim.
Primjećujem i da su rujanski turisti, otkako je temperatura pala ispod trideset, malo pristojniji. Ima još onih šta goli hodaju po gradu, ali ih je znatno manje. Sad prevladavaju relativno normalno odjeveni ljudi koji, izgleda, nisu došli samo lokati i seksati se. Neki od njih su voljni i komunicirati s domorocima, a sve u svrhu upoznavanja drugih kultura. To jest naše kulture. Koja je raskošna i bombastična u svakom pogledu.
Eno, nekidan je na Rivi – a gdje drugo? – održana trka za izlječenje, po naški Race for the Cure. Pokušali smo se, u znak podrške ljudima koji se bore ili su se izborili s karcinomom, pridružiti manifestaciji bez trčanja, ali nije nam pošlo za rukom. Za gužvu još kako-tako, ali buka iz pedesetak pojačala činila me izrazito nervoznom i nekako mi se nije dopala buvljačka atmosfera ogrnuta humanim ciljem. Ali, šta ću, do mene je, nije do manifestacije.
Međutim navečer... Sjedim na skalama baveći se meditacijom i udisanjem duvanskoga dima, kadli... Vatromet! I to veliki. Buba sve u šesnaest, sve mi srce preskače. Na kući preko puta otvore se grilje, otvori se prozor, a iznutra izviri ricava glava jednog evidentno stranog državljanina.
– Sorry! – zaviče put mene, a oči mu unezvijerene. – Is it national holiday? Or something?
– Just something – odgovorim ja. – Dont worry, be happy!
Tko će Amerikancu afričkog porijekla objasniti da se u ovom gradu borba protiv karcinoma obilježava vatrometom? Nema šanse.
