Nedavna smrt glumca Mathhewa Perryja, Chandlera iz kultne serije Friends, ukazala je na postojanje lijeka s opakim "dvosmjernim" djelovanjem: ketamina, na "sivoj listi" već neko vrijeme, otkad su otkrivene nuspojave, ali i zloporaba.

Uporaba ketamina seže u šezdesete godine prošlog stoljeća, kad je lijek rabljen u svrhu humane i veterinarske medicine kao anestetik. Danas je formalno u sferi antidepresiva, ali se zlorabi i kap "party-droga" s psihodeličnim učincima koji nude "izvantjelesno iskustvo" koje nazivaju i "rajskim".

Obdukcija tijela 54-godišnjeg glumca, koji se u svom losanđeleskom domu utopio, pokazala je visoku koncentraciju ketamina, koji bi mogao posredno biti i uzrok smrti (neposredan je, rekosmo, utapanje).

Ketamin je poznat kao lijek za ozbiljnije slučajeve depresije. Prije 18 godina istraživanja ustanove National Institutes of Health pokazala su da intravenski ubrizgana doza ketamina u roku od nekoliko sati "briše depresiju", instantno, dok su za medikamente poput Prozaca i Zolofta potrebni mjeseci kako bi "prodjelovali" - i to ne na svakome. Dakle, Prozac i Zoloft za ketamin bili su šećerna vodica, kamilica.

Ketamin je dr. Martin Teicher dvanaest godina kasnije, 2018. godine, proglasio jednim od najvećih otkrića u psihijatriji nakon puno vremena. Štoviše, preporučio je njegovu uporabu, a liječnikov autoritet prisnažuje činjenica da je profesor na Harvard Medical School ustanovi, te direktor razvojno-istraživačkog programa na bolnici McLean Hospital.

Godinu kasnije (2019.) pojavio se na tržištu - sa svim potrebnim administrativnim odobrenjima - nazalni sprej (za nos) kao prvi službeni antidepresiv na bazi "obećavajućeg ketamina".

‘Antidepresiv budućnosti‘

Pokojni Perry koristio je ketaminsku terapiju u vlastitoj borbi protiv depresije i tjeskobe, a posljednju je dozu uzeo tjedan dana prije smrti, rečeno je.

No, postavlja se pitanje kako se u tijelu zadržala toliko dugo? Nejasno je kako je Perry primio (to jest, u tijelu zadržao) toliko ketamina neposredno prije smrti utapanjem.

Čini se da "antidepresiv budućnosti" ipak nije dovoljno istražen.

Istraživači također pokušavaju proširiti učinak ketamina. Nedavna smrt glumca Mathhewa Perryja, Chandlera iz kultne serije Friends, ukazala je na postojanje lijeka s opakim "dvosmjernim" djelovanjem: ketamina, na "sivoj listi" već neko vrijeme, otkad su otkrivene nuspojave, ali i zloporaba.

Uporaba ketamina seže u šezdesete godine prošlog stoljeća, kad je lijek rabljen u svrhu humane i veterinarske medicine kao anestetik. Danas je formalno u sferi antidepresiva, ali se zlorabi i kap "party-droga" s psihodeličnim učincima koji nude "izvantjelesno iskustvo" koje nazivaju i "rajskim".

Obdukcija tijela 54-godišnjeg glumca, koji se u svom losanđeleskom domu utopio, pokazala je visoku koncentraciju ketamina, koji bi mogao posredno biti i uzrok smrti (neposredan je, rekosmo, utapanje).

Ketamin je poznat kao lijek za ozbiljnije slučajeve depresije. Prije 18 godina istraživanja ustanove National Institutes of Health pokazala su da intravenski ubrizgana doza ketamina u roku od nekoliko sati "briše depresiju", instantno, dok su za medikamente poput Prozaca i Zolofta potrebni mjeseci kako bi "prodjelovali" - i to ne na svakome. Dakle, Prozac i Zoloft za ketamin bili su šećerna vodica, kamilica.

Ketamin je dr. Martin Teicher dvanaest godina kasnije, 2018. godine, proglasio jednim od najvećih otkrića u psihijatriji nakon puno vremena. No, postavlja se pitanje kako se u tijelu zadržala toliko dugo? Nejasno je kako je Perry primio (to jest, u tijelu zadržao) toliko ketamina neposredno prije smrti utapanjem.
