Australski su znanstvenici otkrili da pčelinji otrov u laboratorijskim uvjetima uništava neke stanice raka dojke. Pčelinji otrov i njegov sastojak melitin korišteni su protiv dva agresivna oblika raka dojke - trostrukog negativnog i HER2 pozitivnog.

Znstvenici su ranije otkrili da pčelinji otrov može pomoći u liječenju nekih oblika raka, poput melanoma. Međutim, studija australskog Instituta za medicinska istraživanja Harry Perkins, objavljena u znanstvenom časopisu Nature Precision Oncology, pokazala je da je korisna i za liječenje raka dojke, najčešće vrste karcinoma među ženama.

Znanstvenici su testirali otrov više od 300 pčela i bumbara. Kao što je objasnila voditeljica studije Ciara Duffy, ekstrakti su se pokazali izuzetno učinkovitima.

Jedna od koncentracija, rekla je, uništila je stanice raka u jednom satu, dok je ostale stanice minimalno oštetila. Znanstvenici su također otkrili da melittin učinkovito zaustavlja ili usporava rast stanica raka.

Trostruko negativni rak dojke, koji je jedan od najagresivnijih oblika raka dojke, obično se liječi kirurškim zahvatom, kemoterapijom i radioterapijom. Između 10 i 15 posto pacijenata s rakom dojke ima ovaj oblik.

Dug put do primjene

U znanstvenim krugovima ovo je otkriće ocjenjeno kao vrlo uzbudljivo.

"Ovo je još jedan prekrasan dokaz kako se sastojci iz prirode mogu koristiti za liječenje bolesti kod ljudi" - komentirao je profesor Peter Klinken.

No, znanstvenici ipak upozoravaju da će biti potrebna daljnja ispitivanja prije nego što postane jasno može li se pčelinji otrov stvarno koristiti za liječenje raka.

Mnogi aktivni sastojci mogu uništiti stanice raka u laboratoriju ili na miševima. Ali još je dug put do toga da bi se ovo otkriće moglo primjeniti u liječenju", podvukao je Alex Swarbrick iz Garvan instituta za zdravstvena istraživanja u Sydneyu.

Australski su znanstvenici otkrili da pčelinji otrov u laboratorijskim uvjetima uništava neke stanice raka dojke. Pčelinji otrov i njegov sastojak melitin korišteni su protiv dva agresivna oblika raka dojke - trostrukog negativnog i HER2 pozitivnog.

Znstvenici su ranije otkrili da pčelinji otrov može pomoći u liječenju nekih oblika raka, poput melanoma. Međutim, studija australskog Instituta za medicinska istraživanja Harry Perkins, objavljena u znanstvenom časopisu Nature Precision Oncology, pokazala je da je korisna i za liječenje raka dojke, najčešće vrste karcinoma među ženama.

Znanstvenici su testirali otrov više od 300 pčela i bumbara. Kao što je objasnila voditeljica studije Ciara Duffy, ekstrakti su se pokazali izuzetno učinkovitima.

Jedna od koncentracija, rekla je, uništila je stanice raka u jednom satu, dok je ostale stanice minimalno oštetila. Znanstvenici su također otkrili da melittin učinkovito zaustavlja ili usporava rast stanica raka.

Trostruko negativni rak dojke, koji je jedan od najagresivnijih oblika raka dojke, obično se liječi kirurškim zahvatom, kemoterapijom i radioterapijom. Između 10 i 15 posto pacijenata s rakom dojke ima ovaj oblik.

Dug put do primjene

U znanstvenim krugovima ovo je otkriće ocjenjeno kao vrlo uzbudljivo.

"Ovo je još jedan prekrasan dokaz kako se sastojci iz prirode mogu koristiti za liječenje bolesti kod ljudi" - komentirao je profesor Peter Klinken.

No, znanstvenici ipak upozoravaju da će biti potrebna daljnja ispitivanja prije nego što postane jasno može li se pčelinji otrov stvarno koristiti za liječenje raka.

Mnogi aktivni sastojci mogu uništiti stanice raka u laboratoriju ili na miševima. Ali još je dug put do toga da bi se ovo otkriće moglo primjeniti u liječenju", podvukao je Alex Swarbrick iz Garvan instituta za zdravstvena istraživanja u Sydneyu.

Australski su znanstvenici otkrili da pčelinji otrov u laboratorijskim uvjetima uništava neke stanice raka dojke. Pčelinji otrov i njegov sastojak melitin korišteni su protiv dva agresivna oblika raka dojke - trostrukog negativnog i HER2 pozitivnog.

Znstvenici su ranije otkrili da pčelinji otrov može pomoći u liječenju nekih oblika raka, poput melanoma. Međutim, studija australskog Instituta za medicinska istraživanja Harry Perkins, objavljena u znanstvenom časopisu Nature Precision Oncology, pokazala je da je korisna i za liječenje raka dojke, najčešće vrste karcinoma među ženama.

Znanstvenici su testirali otrov više od 300 pčela i bumbara. Kao što je objasnila voditeljica studije Ciara Duffy, ekstrakti su se pokazali izuzetno učinkovitima.
