Gert-Jan Oskam (40) iz Nizozemske ostao je paraliziran nakon biciklističke nesreće u Kini prije više od desetljeća. Mislio je da, nakon što je slomio vrat 2011. godine, više nikada neće hodati, ali sada se ponovo penje stepenicima i hoda više od 100 metara.

Sve mu je to pošlo za rukom nakon operacije tijekom koje su mu liječnici ugradili medicinski uređaj, koji stvara direktnu neurološku vezu između njegova mozga i leđne moždine očitavajući moždane valove i šaljući upute kralježnici kako bi pokrenula prave mišiće, piše The Guardian.

"Prije nekoliko mjeseci prvi put sam, nakon više od 10 godina, mogao ustati i popiti pivo sa svojim prijateljima. Bilo je to prilično cool. Želim to koristiti u svakodnevnom životu", izjavio je Oskam.

"Ranije sam probao puno stvari, a sada moram ponovo naučiti normalno hodati, kao prirodno, jer tako funkcionira sustav”, rekao je presretni Nizozemac. Naveo je kako trenutno može hodati najmanje 100 metara, od dana do dana, kao i stajati bez uporabe ruku nekoliko minuta.

"Digitalni most" najnoviji je podvig tima neuroznanstvenika iz Švicarske koji dugi niz godina razvijaju program za razvoj sučelja mozak-stroj u svrhu prevladavanja paralize. Projekt ima za cilj korištenje bežičnih signala za ponovno povezivanje mozga s mišićima koji postaju beskorisni kad su živci leđne moždine slomljeni. Prethodna istraživanja pokazala su kako ciljani električni impulsi mogu stimulirati dijelove nogu potrebnih za hodanje.

Gert-Jan Oskam (40) iz Nizozemske ostao je paraliziran nakon biciklističke nesreće u Kini prije više od desetljeća. Mislio je da, nakon što je slomio vrat 2011. godine, više nikada neće hodati, ali sada se ponovo penje stepenicima i hoda više od 100 metara.

Sve mu je to pošlo za rukom nakon operacije tijekom koje su mu liječnici ugradili medicinski uređaj, koji stvara direktnu neurološku vezu između njegova mozga i leđne moždine očitavajući moždane valove i šaljući upute kralježnici kako bi pokrenula prave mišiće, piše The Guardian.

"Prije nekoliko mjeseci prvi put sam, nakon više od 10 godina, mogao ustati i popiti pivo sa svojim prijateljima. Bilo je to prilično cool. Želim to koristiti u svakodnevnom životu", izjavio je Oskam.

"Ranije sam probao puno stvari, a sada moram ponovo naučiti normalno hodati, kao prirodno, jer tako funkcionira sustav”, rekao je presretni Nizozemac. Naveo je kako trenutno može hodati najmanje 100 metara, od dana do dana, kao i stajati bez uporabe ruku nekoliko minuta.

"Digitalni most" najnoviji je podvig tima neuroznanstvenika iz Švicarske koji dugi niz godina razvijaju program za razvoj sučelja mozak-stroj u svrhu prevladavanja paralize. Projekt ima za cilj korištenje bežičnih signala za ponovno povezivanje mozga s mišićima koji postaju beskorisni kad su živci leđne moždine slomljeni. Prethodna istraživanja pokazala su kako ciljani električni impulsi mogu stimulirati dijelove nogu potrebnih za hodanje.

Gert-Jan Oskam (40) iz Nizozemske ostao je paraliziran nakon biciklističke nesreće u Kini prije više od desetljeća. Mislio je da, nakon što je slomio vrat 2011. godine, više nikada neće hodati, ali sada se ponovo penje stepenicima i hoda više od 100 metara.

Sve mu je to pošlo za rukom nakon operacije tijekom koje su mu liječnici ugradili medicinski uređaj, koji stvara direktnu neurološku vezu između njegova mozga i leđne moždine očitavajući moždane valove i šaljući upute kralježnici kako bi pokrenula prave mišiće, piše The Guardian.

"Prije nekoliko mjeseci prvi put sam, nakon više od 10 godina, mogao ustati i popiti pivo sa svojim prijateljima. Bilo je to prilično cool. Želim to koristiti u svakodnevnom životu", izjavio je Oskam.

"Ranije sam probao puno stvari, a sada moram ponovo naučiti normalno hodati, kao prirodno, jer tako funkcionira sustav”, rekao je presretni Nizozemac. Naveo je kako trenutno može hodati najmanje 100 metara, od dana do dana, kao i stajati bez uporabe ruku nekoliko minuta.

"Digitalni most" najnoviji je podvig tima neuroznanstvenika iz Švicarske koji dugi niz godina razvijaju program za razvoj sučelja mozak-stroj u svrhu prevladavanja paralize. Projekt ima za cilj korištenje bežičnih signala za ponovno povezivanje mozga s mišićima koji postaju beskorisni kad su živci leđne moždine slomljeni. Prethodna istraživanja pokazala su kako ciljani električni impulsi mogu stimulirati dijelove nogu potrebnih za hodanje.
