Luk je niskokalorična začinska biljka koja će poboljšati okus svakoga jela bez obzira na to preferirate li svježe komadiće u salati i sendviču, pirjane u juhama, varivima i gulašima, ili pečene s mesom.

Prepoznatljive je sumporaste arome koja potječe iz Azije i Bliskog Istoka. Koristi se za jelo, ali i u ljekovite svrhe već oko 5000 godina.

U najviše zdravstvenih dobrobiti luka uživat ćete ako ga jedete u sirovom obliku. On, naime, sadrži brojne hranjive tvari, od vitamina A, C i E do kalcija, kalija i magnezija, koje imaju blagonaklono djelovanje na ljudski organizam.

Luk sadrži kvercetin, koji snižava visoki krvni tlak, sprječava stvaranje plaka na stjenkama arterija, ali i formiranje krvnih ugrušaka te tako smanjuje mogućnost od bolesti srca i krvožilnog sustava.

Bogat je antioksidansima, koji osnažuju imunitet tijela.

Konzumacija sirovog luka povećava razinu testosterona kod muškaraca i pomaže kod problema erektilne disfunkcije, otkrila je studija objavljena u časopisu Biomolecules.

U najviše zdravstvenih dobrobiti luka uživat ćete ako ga jedete u sirovom obliku. On, naime, sadrži brojne hranjive tvari, od vitamina A, C i E do kalcija, kalija i magnezija, koje imaju blagonaklono djelovanje na ljudski organizam.
