Otprije se zna da vježbanje može spriječiti pojavu raka, a sada su znanstvenici otkrili i kako se to događa te koliko treba vježbati. Istraživanje Centra za rak MD Anderson Sveučilišta u Teksasu provedeno na skupini osoba s Lynchovim sindromom, nasljednim stanjem povezanim s povećanim rizikom za pojavu više vrsta raka, pokazalo je da 45 minuta intenzivnog vježbanja (u ovom slučaju vožnje bicikla) tri puta tjedno može sniziti taj rizik, piše Živim.

Precizne preporuke

- Htjeli smo dati vrlo precizne preporuke za vježbanje i povezati ih sa specifičnim učinkom jer ljudi neće prihvatiti savjet koji kaže ‘samo vježbajte‘. Pokazalo se da upravo ovakvo vježbanje, dizajnirano za studiju, čini imunosni sustav sposobnijim za iskorjenjivanje stanica raka - rekao je voditelj studije, onkolog Eduardo Vilar-Sanchez.

Studija je bila mala, provedena na 21 osobi, no pružila je mnogo dokaza koji povezuju redovitu tjelovježbu sa smanjenim rizikom od raka, osobito raka debelog crijeva. Sudionici, svi s Lynchovim sindromom, bili su podijeljeni u dvije grupe: jedna je dobila godišnji program vježbanja, a druga nije. Znanstvenici su svima pratili srčanu i respiratornu sposobnost te razine prirodnih stanica ubojica i stanica CD8+ T u krvi i u tkivu debelog crijeva. Te su imunosne stanice zadužene za napad na strane entitete, kao što su stanice raka, a kod sudionika koji su vježbali bile su aktivnije. Vježbačima su ujedno pale razine upalnog markera prostaglandina E2, što je bilo usko povezano s rastom broja imunosnih stanica. Obje promjene ukazuju na jači imunosni odgovor, a znanstvenici misle da su povezane s pojačanim "imunosnim nadzorom" koji traži i eliminira stanice koje bi inače postale kancerogene.

Biomarkeri

Već je prije dokazano da redovno vježbanje može prevenirati rak u oko 20 posto slučajeva, što uključuje rak dojke, mokraćnog mjehura, debelog crijeva i želuca. I ranije ovogodišnje američko istraživanje pokazalo je da tjelovježba može ometati signalizaciju unutar stanica raka dojke, odnosno da tijekom kontrakcija mišići oslobađaju faktore koji mogu uništiti stanice raka prije nego što se razviju ili barem usporiti njihov rast, a to se događa i tijekom lakše tjelovježbe kao što je ples ili hodanje. No, studija Centra MD Anderson prva je pokazala vezu između vježbanja i imunosnih biomarkera, a ne samo epidemiološku korelaciju. Vilar-Sanchez još ne povezuje rezultate studije s populacijom širom od osoba s Lynchovim sindromom, no optimističan je i kaže kako bi javnost trebala znati da će bavljenje nekim oblikom tjelovježbe na neki način dovesti do učinka u prevenciji raka, piše Živim.

Istraživanje Centra za rak MD Anderson Sveučilišta u Teksasu provedeno na skupini osoba s Lynchovim sindromom, nasljednim stanjem povezanim s povećanim rizikom za pojavu više vrsta raka, pokazalo je da 45 minuta intenzivnog vježbanja (u ovom slučaju vožnje bicikla) tri puta tjedno može sniziti taj rizik, piše Živim.

Precizne preporuke

- Htjeli smo dati vrlo precizne preporuke za vježbanje i povezati ih sa specifičnim učinkom jer ljudi neće prihvatiti savjet koji kaže ‘samo vježbajte‘. Pokazalo se da upravo ovakvo vježbanje, dizajnirano za studiju, čini imunosni sustav sposobnijim za iskorjenjivanje stanica raka - rekao je voditelj studije, onkolog Eduardo Vilar-Sanchez.

Studija je bila mala, provedena na 21 osobi, no pružila je mnogo dokaza koji povezuju redovitu tjelovježbu sa smanjenim rizikom od raka, osobito raka debelog crijeva. Sudionici, svi s Lynchovim sindromom, bili su podijeljeni u dvije grupe: jedna je dobila godišnji program vježbanja, a druga nije. Znanstvenici su svima pratili srčanu i respiratornu sposobnost te razine prirodnih stanica ubojica i stanica CD8+ T u krvi i u tkivu debelog crijeva. Te su imunosne stanice zadužene za napad na strane entitete, kao što su stanice raka, a kod sudionika koji su vježbali bile su aktivnije. Vježbačima su ujedno pale razine upalnog markera prostaglandina E2, što je bilo usko povezano s rastom broja imunosnih stanica. Obje promjene ukazuju na jači imunosni odgovor, a znanstvenici misle da su povezane s pojačanim "imunosnim nadzorom" koji traži i eliminira stanice koje bi inače postale kancerogene.

Biomarkeri

Već je prije dokazano da redovno vježbanje može prevenirati rak u oko 20 posto slučajeva, što uključuje rak dojke, mokraćnog mjehura, debelog crijeva i želuca. I ranije ovogodišnje američko istraživanje pokazalo je da tjelovježba može ometati signalizaciju unutar stanica raka dojke, odnosno da tijekom kontrakcija mišići oslobađaju faktore koji mogu uništiti stanice raka prije nego što se razviju ili barem usporiti njihov rast, a to se događa i tijekom lakše tjelovježbe kao što je ples ili hodanje. No, studija Centra MD Anderson prva je pokazala vezu između vježbanja i imunosnih biomarkera, a ne samo epidemiološku korelaciju. Vilar-Sanchez još ne povezuje rezultate studije s populacijom širom od osoba s Lynchovim sindromom, no optimističan je i kaže kako bi javnost trebala znati da će bavljenje nekim oblikom tjelovježbe na neki način dovesti do učinka u prevenciji raka, piše Živim.
