Djeca i odrasle osobe koje uzimaju pet često prepisivanih vrsta antibiotika mogu imati veće izglede za razvoj bubrežnih kamenaca od ljudi koji ne uzimaju te lijekove, pokazalo je novo istraživanje.
Znanstvenici su proučavali potrošnju antibiotika prema elektronskim zdravstvenim kartonima 25.981 ljudi koji su dobili bubrežne kamence te u kontrolnoj skupini od 259.797 sličnih pacijenata koji nisu imali kamence u razdoblju od 1994. do 2015.
Utvrdili su da je uzimanje neke od pet skupina antibiotika - sulfonamida, cefalosporina, fluorokinolona, nitrofurantoina/metenamina i penicilina u prethodnih tri do 12 mjeseci bilo povezano s povećanim rizikom od pojave bubrežnih kamenaca.
Povećanje rizika kretalo se u rasponu od 27 posto većih izgleda kod penicilina do više nego dvostruko većeg rizika za kamence nakon uzimanja sulfonamida.
“Bez sumnje antibiotici su spasili milijune života i potrebni su za spriječavanje smrti i ozbiljnih posljedica infekcija i njihova korist nadmašuje moguće štetne posljedice”, kaže voditelj studije dr. Gregory Tasian iz dječje bolnice u Philadelphiji.
“Ti rezultati ne sugeriraju da se antibiotici ne bi trebali prepisivati kad je to potrebno”, kaže Tasian. “No podupiru stav da se antibiotici moraju pažljivo prepisivati samo kad je to potrebno i da se smanji njihovo neprimjereno trošenje za virusna oboljenja.”
Znanstvenici već od ranije znaju da antibiotici utječu na ravnotežu bakterija, virusa i gljivica koje žive u i na ljudskom tijelu.
Promjene u probavnoj i urinarnoj flori od ranije su istraživanjima povezane s bubrežnim kamencima no do sada nijedno nije pokazalo povezanost između korištenja antibiotika i kamenaca, navode znanstvenici u časopisu Journal of the American Society of Nephrology.
Prema istraživanju najveći rizici razvoja kamenaca uočeni su kod djece i tinejdžera. Rizik od razvoja kamenaca smanjuje se s vremenom no ostaje povišen i do nekoliko godina nakon uzimanja antibiotika.
Znanstvenici su proučavali 12 skupina antibiotika no vezu potrošnje antibiotika i bubrežnih kamenaca utvrdili su samo kod pet skupina antibiotika.
Znanstvenik Jeremy Burton sa sveučilišta Western Ontario, koji nije bio uključen u istraživanje, kaže da kamenci pogađaju oko 10 posto ljudi što otežava otkrivanje izravnih veza njihova razvoja i potrošnje antibiotika koje u svom životu gotovo svatko uzme.
“Broj dijagnosticiranih bubrežnih kamenaca je uporastu bez nekog jasnog razloga i mnogo je teorija postavljeno od globalnog zagrijavanja povezanog s premalim unosom tekućine do promjena sastava bakterija, virusa i gljivica u ljudskom tijelu zbog zapadnjačke prehrane", kaže Burton.

Djeca i odrasle osobe koje uzimaju pet često prepisivanih vrsta antibiotika mogu imati veće izglede za razvoj bubrežnih kamenaca od ljudi koji ne uzimaju te lijekove, pokazalo je novo istraživanje.
Znanstvenici su proučavali potrošnju antibiotika prema elektronskim zdravstvenim kartonima 25.981 ljudi koji su dobili bubrežne kamence te u kontrolnoj skupini od 259.797 sličnih pacijenata koji nisu imali kamence u razdoblju od 1994. do 2015.
Utvrdili su da je uzimanje neke od pet skupina antibiotika - sulfonamida, cefalosporina, fluorokinolona, nitrofurantoina/metenamina i penicilina u prethodnih tri do 12 mjeseci bilo povezano s povećanim rizikom od pojave bubrežnih kamenaca.
Povećanje rizika kretalo se u rasponu od 27 posto većih izgleda kod penicilina do više nego dvostruko većeg rizika za kamence nakon uzimanja sulfonamida.
“Bez sumnje antibiotici su spasili milijune života i potrebni su za spriječavanje smrti i ozbiljnih posljedica infekcija i njihova korist nadmašuje moguće štetne posljedice”, kaže voditelj studije dr. Gregory Tasian iz dječje bolnice u Philadelphiji.
“Ti rezultati ne sugeriraju da se antibiotici ne bi trebali prepisivati kad je to potrebno”, kaže Tasian. “No podupiru stav da se antibiotici moraju pažljivo prepisivati samo kad je to potrebno i da se smanji njihovo neprimjereno trošenje za virusna oboljenja.”
Znanstvenici već od ranije znaju da antibiotici utječu na ravnotežu bakterija, virusa i gljivica koje žive u i na ljudskom tijelu.
Promjene u probavnoj i urinarnoj flori od ranije su istraživanjima povezane s bubrežnim kamencima no do sada nijedno nije pokazalo povezanost između korištenja antibiotika i kamenaca, navode znanstvenici u časopisu Journal of the American Society of Nephrology.
Prema istraživanju najveći rizici razvoja kamenaca uočeni su kod djece i tinejdžera. Rizik od razvoja kamenaca smanjuje se s vremenom no ostaje povišen i do nekoliko godina nakon uzimanja antibiotika.
Znanstvenici su proučavali 12 skupina antibiotika no vezu potrošnje antibiotika i bubrežnih kamenaca utvrdili su samo kod pet skupina antibiotika.
Znanstvenik Jeremy Burton sa sveučilišta Western Ontario, koji nije bio uključen u istraživanje, kaže da kamenci pogađaju oko 10 posto ljudi što otežava otkrivanje izravnih veza njihova razvoja i potrošnje antibiotika koje u svom životu gotovo svatko uzme.
“Broj dijagnosticiranih bubrežnih kamenaca je uporastu bez nekog jasnog razloga i mnogo je teorija postavljeno od globalnog zagrijavanja povezanog s premalim unosom tekućine do promjena sastava bakterija, virusa i gljivica u ljudskom tijelu zbog zapadnjačke prehrane", kaže Burton.
