Osobe koje svakodnevno nanose ruž za usne, u prosjeku ga dnevno u organizam unesu oko 57 miligrama, a godišnje 'pojedu' otprilike pet cijelih ruževa za usne, procjena je tijela EU-a koja se bave njihovim sastavom i sigurnošću za korisnike.
Zaposlenici koji testiraju kozmetičke i slične proizvode u njemačkoj organizaciji za zaštitu potrošača Stiftung Warentest su, na tragu tih informacija, odlučili pomnije proučiti neke sastojke ruževa za usne te su otkrili da se umjetno prehrambeno bojilo titanijev dioksid nalazi u svih 17 testiranih ruževa, bez obzira na to je li riječ o jeftinoj ili skupoj kozmetici, ili pak onoj koja se prodaje kao "prirodna".
Titanij dioksid u nanoobliku
Ako se spomenuta tvar svakodnevno unosi u organizam, ona bi, po novim znanstvenim studijama, dugoročno mogla imati genotoksično djelovanje, utjecati na poremećaj imunosnog sustava kao i na pojavu tumorskih oboljenja.
Titanijev dioksid, koji se dugo vremena smatrao sigurnim, od svibnja 2021. više nije na popisu sastojaka sigurnih za upotrebu u prehrani Europske agencije za sigurnost hrane (EFSA).

Osim u unosnoj kozmetičkoj industriji, metal titanij u obliku dioksida najčešće se rabi za bojenje mliječnih i konditorskih proizvoda, slatkiša, žvakaćih guma, kolača te pekarskih proizvoda i umaka. Upravo su djeca najviše izložena djelovanju toga kemijskoga spoja. Prosječni dnevni unos titanijeva dioksida za odrasle iznosi oko pola miligrama po kilogramu tjelesne mase, a u djece je taj unos deset do dvadeset puta veći.
Najvažnija promjena u primjeni titanijeva dioksida je nov način njegove tehnološke proizvodnje. "Staro" titanijevo bojilo bilo je klasičan kemijski spoj, a "novi" titanijev dioksid proizvodi se u nanoobliku. Usitnjeni nanotitanijev dioksid lako prolazi biološke zaštitne barijere, poput crijevne ili plućne stijenke te se taloži u mnogim unutrašnjim organima.
Potrošači mogu ustanoviti ima li titanijeva dioksida u ruževima tako da na ambalaži potraže šifru sastojka - CI 77891, pokraj koje ponekad piše i "titanijev dioksid".
Trenutačno se ova tvar još uvijek dodaje u mnoge ruževe za usne koji se nude na tržištu, kaže Thomas Koppmann, voditelj njemačkog projekta testiranja te procjenjuje da će se nakon ponovne procjene EFSA-e to vrlo uskoro promijeniti.

Mineralna ulja
Ne samo da bi vam ruževi trebali odgovarati po traženoj nijansi, već bi istodobno trebali njegovati usne. Neki su napravljeni tako da nakon nanošenja daju usnama sjaj, zbog čega proizvođači u proizvode dodaju komponente mineralnih ulja.
No osobe koje obavljaju testiranja u Stiftung Warentestu i prema njima su vrlo kritične jer se i ovi sastojci s vremenom mogu nakupljati u organima ili u tkivima.
I premda su posljedice za zdravlje još uvijek nedovoljno poznate, EFSA smatra da je količina spomenutih tvari što ih osobe koje koriste ruž već hranom unose u organizam, "potencijalno zabrinjavajuća".

Spomenute tvari i slični sintetski ugljikovodici općenito su zabranjeni za korištenje u certificiranoj prirodnoj kozmetici.
Mineralna ulja, poznata kao MOSH sastojci (Mineral Oil Saturated Hydrocarbons), na pakiranjima proizvoda su označena kao petrolatum, ozokerit, mikrokristalni vosak ili parafin.
Iz navedenih razloga, nijedan od 17 ispitanih ruževa nije ocijenjen "dobrim".
Osobe koje su za njemačku organizaciju testirale ruževe, kvalitetu dvaju ruževa ocijenile su "lošima" zbog povećane količine MOSH-a, a ostali su dobili ocjenu "zadovoljava".
"Sa stajališta zaštite potrošača i zbog mjera opreza ne bismo bezrezervno preporučili nijedan ruž koji smo testirali", stoji u završnom mišljenju Stiftung Warentesta.

Osobe koje svakodnevno nanose ruž za usne, u prosjeku ga dnevno u organizam unesu oko 57 miligrama, a godišnje 'pojedu' otprilike pet cijelih ruževa za usne, procjena je tijela EU-a koja se bave njihovim sastavom i sigurnošću za korisnike.
Zaposlenici koji testiraju kozmetičke i slične proizvode u njemačkoj organizaciji za zaštitu potrošača Stiftung Warentest su, na tragu tih informacija, odlučili pomnije proučiti neke sastojke ruževa za usne te su otkrili da se umjetno prehrambeno bojilo titanijev dioksid nalazi u svih 17 testiranih ruževa, bez obzira na to je li riječ o jeftinoj ili skupoj kozmetici, ili pak onoj koja se prodaje kao "prirodna".
Titanij dioksid u nanoobliku
Ako se spomenuta tvar svakodnevno unosi u organizam, ona bi, po novim znanstvenim studijama, dugoročno mogla imati genotoksično djelovanje, utjecati na poremećaj imunosnog sustava kao i na pojavu tumorskih oboljenja.
Titanijev dioksid, koji se dugo vremena smatrao sigurnim, od svibnja 2021. više nije na popisu sastojaka sigurnih za upotrebu u prehrani Europske agencije za sigurnost hrane (EFSA).

Osim u unosnoj kozmetičkoj industriji, metal titanij u obliku dioksida najčešće se rabi za bojenje mliječnih i konditorskih proizvoda, slatkiša, žvakaćih guma, kolača te pekarskih proizvoda i umaka. Upravo su djeca najviše izložena djelovanju toga kemijskoga spoja. Prosječni dnevni unos titanijeva dioksida za odrasle iznosi oko pola miligrama po kilogramu tjelesne mase, a u djece je taj unos deset do dvadeset puta veći.
Najvažnija promjena u primjeni titanijeva dioksida je nov način njegove tehnološke proizvodnje. "Staro" titanijevo bojilo bilo je klasičan kemijski spoj, a "novi" titanijev dioksid proizvodi se u nanoobliku. Usitnjeni nanotitanijev dioksid lako prolazi biološke zaštitne barijere, poput crijevne ili plućne stijenke te se taloži u mnogim unutrašnjim organima.
Potrošači mogu ustanoviti ima li titanijeva dioksida u ruževima tako da na ambalaži potraže šifru sastojka - CI 77891, pokraj koje ponekad piše i "titanijev dioksid".
Trenutačno se ova tvar još uvijek dodaje u mnoge ruževe za usne koji se nude na tržištu, kaže Thomas Koppmann, voditelj njemačkog projekta testiranja te procjenjuje da će se nakon ponovne procjene EFSA-e to vrlo uskoro promijeniti.

Mineralna ulja
Ne samo da bi vam ruževi trebali odgovarati po traženoj nijansi, već bi istodobno trebali njegovati usne. Neki su napravljeni tako da nakon nanošenja daju usnama sjaj, zbog čega proizvođači u proizvode dodaju komponente mineralnih ulja.
No osobe koje obavljaju testiranja u Stiftung Warentestu i prema njima su vrlo kritične jer se i ovi sastojci s vremenom mogu nakupljati u organima ili u tkivima.
I premda su posljedice za zdravlje još uvijek nedovoljno poznate, EFSA smatra da je količina spomenutih tvari što ih osobe koje koriste ruž već hranom unose u organizam, "potencijalno zabrinjavajuća".

Spomenute tvari i slični sintetski ugljikovodici općenito su zabranjeni za korištenje u certificiranoj prirodnoj kozmetici.
Mineralna ulja, poznata kao MOSH sastojci (Mineral Oil Saturated Hydrocarbons), na pakiranjima proizvoda su označena kao petrolatum, ozokerit, mikrokristalni vosak ili parafin.
Iz navedenih razloga, nijedan od 17 ispitanih ruževa nije ocijenjen "dobrim".
Osobe koje su za njemačku organizaciju testirale ruževe, kvalitetu dvaju ruževa ocijenile su "lošima" zbog povećane količine MOSH-a, a ostali su dobili ocjenu "zadovoljava".
"Sa stajališta zaštite potrošača i zbog mjera opreza ne bismo bezrezervno preporučili nijedan ruž koji smo testirali", stoji u završnom mišljenju Stiftung Warentesta.
