Ako ste mislili da vam se epidemija koronavirusa već dovoljno uplela u životne navike, američki liječnici imaju vijesti koje se neće svidjeti nositeljima kontaktnih leća.
Kako biste kao pojedinac učinili baš sve što možete da širenje prestane, trebali biste, naime, zaboraviti na neko vrijeme na vaše kontaktne leće i obrisati prašinu sa svojih naočala, piše CNN.
Virus koji uzrokuje tešku bolest COVID-19 dosad se pokazao ekstremno brzim kad je u pitanju širenje i to iz više razloga. Ne samo da je u kapljičnom načinu nezaustavljiv, pa lako prelazi s čovjeka na čovjeka, već ostaje aktivan i jednom kada padne na površinu. Koju potom ljudi prstima dodiruju, a naknadno, dirajući lice, zarazu unose, ne znajući, u svoj organizam.
Putem sluznice usta, nosa i oka. No oko je nešto specifičnije. Liječnici objašnjavaju kako virus u respiratorni sustav dospije tek nakon što se u oku razvije konjuktivitis, koji potom trljajući prstima pacijent prenosi dalje do sluznice nosa i usta.
Iz Američkog društva za oftalmologiju preporučuju da u danima trajanja pandemije posegnete za naočalama iz više razloga. Ponajprije, mogle bi vam pomoći, naročito ako morate ići na posao, u trgovinu ili ljekarnu, kao svojevrsan štit. I ne samo od potencijalnih kapljičnih infekcija, već i od vas samih - mogu vas odvratiti od trljanja očiju ili vas spriječiti da ih dodirujete.
Korisnici kontaktnih leća dodiruju sluznicu oka minimalno dvaput dnevno, prilikom stavljanja i tijekom skidanja leća. Ako se dogodi da vam se tijekom boravka van kuće leća pomakne ili ispadne, morate voditi računa o tome da je higijena na najvišoj mogućoj razini, a to nije uvijek jednostavno.
Glasnogovornik spomenutog društva za oftalmologiju, dr. Thomas Steinemann, kaže da korisnici kontaktnih leća imaju običaj češće dodirivati oko od ljudi koji nose naočale, što u trenutnim uvjetima nikako nije poželjno.
"Možete li se razboljeti od koronavirusa samo preko oka? Moguće je, ali rekao bih da su šanse male. Ono što je izglednije je da sve ide tako što virus izazove konjuktivitis, a upalu dodirujemo prstima koje kasnije prinosimo licu", objašnjava dr. William Schaffner, profesor na sveučilištu Vanderbilt u Nashvilleu.

Konjuktivitis je iznimno zarazan, objašnjava dalje. Upali se dio oka koji se naziva očna spojnica, a ona je sluzava baš poput unutrašnjosti nosa ili usta. Simptomi bolesti uključuju pojačano suzenje oka, crvenilo, zamagljen vid, iritacijua (pečenje, svrbež) oka i kapaka, a očni kapci nakon buđenja znaju biti slijepljeni.
No tek je između 1% i 3% pacijenata zaraženih koronavirusom u Kini imalo konjuktivitis. Unatoč niskim brojkama, oftalmološki bi pregledi koji ne spadaju u kategoriju "hitnih", trebali biti odgođeni na neko vrijeme, kažu američki oftalmolozi za CNN. Sluznica oka može biti vrlo zarazna da pacijent to i ne zna, a on dirajući oko može ostaviti virus na nekoj od površina u ambulanti.
Još se uvijek ne zna može li se koronavirus prenositi suzama, kažu oftalmolozi. Kažu i kako njihova najnovija saznanja ne znače, naravno, da je svaki konjuktivitis nužno povezan s koronavirusom, dapače.
Poveznica koronavirusa i konjuktivitisa, dodaju stručnjaci, nije ništa novo kad je riječ o sličnim mikroorganizmima. Postoje brojni drugi virusi koji se lako zalijepe za očnu spojnicu i uzrokuju konjuktivitis. No ukoliko ste uz upalu oka primijetili i neki drugi simptom, poput suhoga kašlja, visoke temperature ili otežanoga disanja, kontaktirajte liječnika.
Ukoliko kišete te vas oči i nos pojačano svrbe, moguće je da se radi i o alergiji.
A ako nemate drugu opciju, pa kontaknte leće naprosto morate nastaviti nositi, doktori savjetuju i ovo:
"Ovo nije vrijeme za rizike. Perite ruke, dezinficirajte površine. Ne dirajte lice. Ne trljajte oči. I vodite računa o higijeni kad su leće u pitanju, ako ste ih uopće odlučili nastaviti nositi...".

Ako ste mislili da vam se epidemija koronavirusa već dovoljno uplela u životne navike, američki liječnici imaju vijesti koje se neće svidjeti nositeljima kontaktnih leća.
Kako biste kao pojedinac učinili baš sve što možete da širenje prestane, trebali biste, naime, zaboraviti na neko vrijeme na vaše kontaktne leće i obrisati prašinu sa svojih naočala, piše CNN.
Virus koji uzrokuje tešku bolest COVID-19 dosad se pokazao ekstremno brzim kad je u pitanju širenje i to iz više razloga. Ne samo da je u kapljičnom načinu nezaustavljiv, pa lako prelazi s čovjeka na čovjeka, već ostaje aktivan i jednom kada padne na površinu. Koju potom ljudi prstima dodiruju, a naknadno, dirajući lice, zarazu unose, ne znajući, u svoj organizam.
Putem sluznice usta, nosa i oka. No oko je nešto specifičnije. Liječnici objašnjavaju kako virus u respiratorni sustav dospije tek nakon što se u oku razvije konjuktivitis, koji potom trljajući prstima pacijent prenosi dalje do sluznice nosa i usta.
Iz Američkog društva za oftalmologiju preporučuju da u danima trajanja pandemije posegnete za naočalama iz više razloga. Ponajprije, mogle bi vam pomoći, naročito ako morate ići na posao, u trgovinu ili ljekarnu, kao svojevrsan štit. I ne samo od potencijalnih kapljičnih infekcija, već i od vas samih - mogu vas odvratiti od trljanja očiju ili vas spriječiti da ih dodirujete.
Korisnici kontaktnih leća dodiruju sluznicu oka minimalno dvaput dnevno, prilikom stavljanja i tijekom skidanja leća. Ako se dogodi da vam se tijekom boravka van kuće leća pomakne ili ispadne, morate voditi računa o tome da je higijena na najvišoj mogućoj razini, a to nije uvijek jednostavno.
Glasnogovornik spomenutog društva za oftalmologiju, dr. Thomas Steinemann, kaže da korisnici kontaktnih leća imaju običaj češće dodirivati oko od ljudi koji nose naočale, što u trenutnim uvjetima nikako nije poželjno.
"Možete li se razboljeti od koronavirusa samo preko oka? Moguće je, ali rekao bih da su šanse male. Ono što je izglednije je da sve ide tako što virus izazove konjuktivitis, a upalu dodirujemo prstima koje kasnije prinosimo licu", objašnjava dr. William Schaffner, profesor na sveučilištu Vanderbilt u Nashvilleu.

Konjuktivitis je iznimno zarazan, objašnjava dalje. Upali se dio oka koji se naziva očna spojnica, a ona je sluzava baš poput unutrašnjosti nosa ili usta. Simptomi bolesti uključuju pojačano suzenje oka, crvenilo, zamagljen vid, iritacijua (pečenje, svrbež) oka i kapaka, a očni kapci nakon buđenja znaju biti slijepljeni.
No tek je između 1% i 3% pacijenata zaraženih koronavirusom u Kini imalo konjuktivitis. Unatoč niskim brojkama, oftalmološki bi pregledi koji ne spadaju u kategoriju "hitnih", trebali biti odgođeni na neko vrijeme, kažu američki oftalmolozi za CNN. Sluznica oka može biti vrlo zarazna da pacijent to i ne zna, a on dirajući oko može ostaviti virus na nekoj od površina u ambulanti.
Još se uvijek ne zna može li se koronavirus prenositi suzama, kažu oftalmolozi. Kažu i kako njihova najnovija saznanja ne znače, naravno, da je svaki konjuktivitis nužno povezan s koronavirusom, dapače.
Poveznica koronavirusa i konjuktivitisa, dodaju stručnjaci, nije ništa novo kad je riječ o sličnim mikroorganizmima. Postoje brojni drugi virusi koji se lako zalijepe za očnu spojnicu i uzrokuju konjuktivitis. No ukoliko ste uz upalu oka primijetili i neki drugi simptom, poput suhoga kašlja, visoke temperature ili otežanoga disanja, kontaktirajte liječnika.
Ukoliko kišete te vas oči i nos pojačano svrbe, moguće je da se radi i o alergiji.
A ako nemate drugu opciju, pa kontaknte leće naprosto morate nastaviti nositi, doktori savjetuju i ovo:
"Ovo nije vrijeme za rizike. Perite ruke, dezinficirajte površine. Ne dirajte lice. Ne trljajte oči. I vodite računa o higijeni kad su leće u pitanju, ako ste ih uopće odlučili nastaviti nositi...".
