Uključivanje kikirikija u prehranu djece u ranoj dobi moglo bi pomoći u sprječavanju alergija na mahunarke, koje mogu biti smrtonosne i pogađaju mlade širom svijeta, pokazalo je novo istraživanje objavljeno u petak.
Znanstvenici su otkrili da je uvođenje proizvoda od kikirikija u prehranu beba i dojenčadi i postupno povećanje izloženosti dovelo do veće tolerancije na taj česti alergen.
Recenzirana studija, objavljena u časopisu Lancet, uključivala je 146 djece alergične na kikiriki u dobi od nula do tri godine tijekom dvije i pol godine.
Od grupe, 96 je dobilo proteinski prah od kikirikija svaki dan, a doza se progresivno povećavala na dozu koja odgovara konzumaciji šest kikirikija.
Ostala djeca su dobila placebo od zobenog brašna.
Dvadesetero djece koja su primala prah od kikirikija pokazalo je remisiju alergije, što znači da se nije pojavila alergijska reakcija šest mjeseci nakon završetka terapije.
Jedno dijete u placebo skupini pokazalo je remisiju.
Šest mjeseci nakon tretmana, djeca u remisiji mogla su podnijeti dozu koja odgovara 16 kikirikija.
Dodatnih 20 djece koja su primala prah od kikirikija smatralo se 'desenzibiliziranim', što znači da su imala viši alergijski prag, ali se nije smatralo da su u remisiji.

Ta djeca mogla su podnijeti dozu koja odgovara količini od šest do 12 kikirikija šest mjeseci nakon završetka liječenja.
Najmlađa djeca u istraživanju su najčešće doživljavala remisiju, a najbolji rezultati bili su u skupini mlađoj od 12 mjeseci.
"Vrlo rane intervencije mogu pružiti najbolju priliku za postizanje remisije", rekla je koautorica studije Stacie Jones.
Prema studiji, alergije na kikiriki pogađaju dva posto djece u zapadnim zemljama i mogu trajati cijeli život.
Pogođena djeca moraju izbjegavati jesti kikiriki i imati na raspolaganju adrenalin koji si mogu sami ubrizgati u borbi protiv alergijskih šokova, koji mogu biti smrtonosni ako su slučajno izloženi kikirikiju.
Do izloženosti može doći čak i kada dijete zagrli nekoga tko je upravo pojeo kikiriki.
"Ne postoje mogućnosti liječenja, što rezultira znatnim opterećenjem za alergičnu djecu i njihove skrbnike kako bi se izbjegla slučajna izloženost", rekao je koautor Wesley Burks.
"U teškim slučajevima, to može ograničiti slobode djece alergične na kikiriki, posebno kada je u pitanju kretanje u vrtićima ili školama i javnim prostorima gdje je ugrožen pristup sigurnoj prehrani", dodao je.
Istraživanje je provedeno pod strogim liječničkim nadzorom, a injekcije adrenalina dane su 21 djetetu tijekom ispitivanja.

Uključivanje kikirikija u prehranu djece u ranoj dobi moglo bi pomoći u sprječavanju alergija na mahunarke, koje mogu biti smrtonosne i pogađaju mlade širom svijeta, pokazalo je novo istraživanje objavljeno u petak.
Znanstvenici su otkrili da je uvođenje proizvoda od kikirikija u prehranu beba i dojenčadi i postupno povećanje izloženosti dovelo do veće tolerancije na taj česti alergen.
Recenzirana studija, objavljena u časopisu Lancet, uključivala je 146 djece alergične na kikiriki u dobi od nula do tri godine tijekom dvije i pol godine.
Od grupe, 96 je dobilo proteinski prah od kikirikija svaki dan, a doza se progresivno povećavala na dozu koja odgovara konzumaciji šest kikirikija.
Ostala djeca su dobila placebo od zobenog brašna.
Dvadesetero djece koja su primala prah od kikirikija pokazalo je remisiju alergije, što znači da se nije pojavila alergijska reakcija šest mjeseci nakon završetka terapije.
Jedno dijete u placebo skupini pokazalo je remisiju.
Šest mjeseci nakon tretmana, djeca u remisiji mogla su podnijeti dozu koja odgovara 16 kikirikija.
Dodatnih 20 djece koja su primala prah od kikirikija smatralo se 'desenzibiliziranim', što znači da su imala viši alergijski prag, ali se nije smatralo da su u remisiji.

Najmlađa djeca u istraživanju su najčešće doživljavala remisiju, a najbolji rezultati bili su u skupini mlađoj od 12 mjeseci.
"Vrlo rane intervencije mogu pružiti najbolju priliku za postizanje remisije", rekla je koautorica studije Stacie Jones.
Prema studiji, alergije na kikiriki pogađaju dva posto djece u zapadnim zemljama i mogu trajati cijeli život.
Pogođena djeca moraju izbjegavati jesti kikiriki i imati na raspolaganju adrenalin koji si mogu sami ubrizgati u borbi protiv alergijskih šokova, koji mogu biti smrtonosni ako su slučajno izloženi kikirikiju.
Do izloženosti može doći čak i kada dijete zagrli nekoga tko je upravo pojeo kikiriki.
"Ne postoje mogućnosti liječenja, što rezultira znatnim opterećenjem za alergičnu djecu i njihove skrbnike kako bi se izbjegla slučajna izloženost", rekao je koautor Wesley Burks.
"U teškim slučajevima, to može ograničiti slobode djece alergične na kikiriki, posebno kada je u pitanju kretanje u vrtićima ili školama i javnim prostorima gdje je ugrožen pristup sigurnoj prehrani", dodao je.
Istraživanje je provedeno pod strogim liječničkim nadzorom, a injekcije adrenalina dane su 21 djetetu tijekom ispitivanja.
