Prema europskom društvu Alzheimer, prevalencija demencije nam ne ide na ruku. Budući da je u 2020. godini jedna petina europskog stanovništva bila starija od 65 godina, za očekivati je, da će ona i dalje rasti. Budući da je starost primarni rizični faktor od razvoja demencije za koju još uvijek nema lijeka, najbolja obrana je njezino rano otkrivanje, piše Živim.
Četiri znaka za demenciju
Dok su problemi s pamćenjem često prvi poziv za uzbunu, Bernadette Mossman, stručnjakinja za demenciju upozorila je kako su rani znakovi često neprepoznati.
- Ne samo da postoji nekoliko različitih tipova demencije, nego se simptomi mogu razlikovati od osobe do osobe, što znakove demencije može učiniti nezgodnima za uočavanje - izjavila je za Express.co.uk.
Iako često nisu prepoznati kao simptomi demencije, ova je stručnjakinja podijelila na koja bismo četiri obrasca morali svakako obratiti pozornost:
- Senzorna pitanja (percepcija dubine i prostorna svijest)
- Osjetljivost na buku
- Promjene osjeta okusa i mirisa
- Problemi s vidom
Osoba sklona demenciji može imati iskrivljenu svijest o objektima u prostoru i poziciji vlastitog tijela u odnosu na objekt. Također, može imati probleme osjetilom sluha i pogrešnu percepciju na udaljenost zvuka. Osim toga, iznenadni gubitak vida koji može biti uzrokovan Alzheimerovom bolešću može biti jedan od signala za stanje demencije.
- U najranijim stadijima bolesti nekima je možda teško čitati, a uz to, mogu lako preskočiti retke teksta - istaknula je Mossman te dodala kako osobe koje pokazuju rane znakove demencije, često ne pomiču pogled.

Prema europskom društvu Alzheimer, prevalencija demencije nam ne ide na ruku. Budući da je u 2020. godini jedna petina europskog stanovništva bila starija od 65 godina, za očekivati je, da će ona i dalje rasti. Budući da je starost primarni rizični faktor od razvoja demencije za koju još uvijek nema lijeka, najbolja obrana je njezino rano otkrivanje, piše Živim.
Četiri znaka za demenciju
Dok su problemi s pamćenjem često prvi poziv za uzbunu, Bernadette Mossman, stručnjakinja za demenciju upozorila je kako su rani znakovi često neprepoznati.
- Ne samo da postoji nekoliko različitih tipova demencije, nego se simptomi mogu razlikovati od osobe do osobe, što znakove demencije može učiniti nezgodnima za uočavanje - izjavila je za Express.co.uk.
Iako često nisu prepoznati kao simptomi demencije, ova je stručnjakinja podijelila na koja bismo četiri obrasca morali svakako obratiti pozornost:
- Senzorna pitanja (percepcija dubine i prostorna svijest)
- Osjetljivost na buku
- Promjene osjeta okusa i mirisa
- Problemi s vidom
Osoba sklona demenciji može imati iskrivljenu svijest o objektima u prostoru i poziciji vlastitog tijela u odnosu na objekt. Također, može imati probleme osjetilom sluha i pogrešnu percepciju na udaljenost zvuka. Osim toga, iznenadni gubitak vida koji može biti uzrokovan Alzheimerovom bolešću može biti jedan od signala za stanje demencije.
- U najranijim stadijima bolesti nekima je možda teško čitati, a uz to, mogu lako preskočiti retke teksta - istaknula je Mossman te dodala kako osobe koje pokazuju rane znakove demencije, često ne pomiču pogled.
Drugim riječima, izgledaju kao da puno zure. Ovo stanje besciljnog pogleda ne mogu primijetiti sami oboljeli, već njihova okolina.
- Sva ova četiri simptoma mogu zahvatiti ljudski mozak još u ranim fazama demencije, međutim, možda ih se neće lako uočiti kao znakove poput gubitka pamćenja i zbunjenosti i baš zato, ako osoba ima navedene simptome, potrebno je otići kod liječnika - zaključila je Mossman, piše Živim.
