Na više od milijardu svjetlosnih godina od Zemlje, u zviježđu Eridan, snimljena je masivna eksplozija gama-zraka. Eksplozija je zapravo bila smrt zvijezde i početak njezine transformacije u crnu rupu, kažu stručnjaci iz njemačkog "Electron Synchrotrona" u Hamburgu. Ovaj svemirski događaj predstavlja najveću dosad snimljenu eksploziju u svemiru, piše National Geographic.

Masivni rafal gama-zraka sastojao se od kombinacije blistavih rendgenskih i gama zračenja zabilježenih na nebu, koje su emitirali udaljeni ekstragalaktički izvori. Otkrili su ga svemirski teleskopi "Fermi" i "Swift", uz podršku Zemljinog teleskopa "High Energy Stereoscopic System (H.E.S.S.)" u Namibiji.

Iako se nalazi na milijardu svjetlosnih godina od Zemlje, smatra se da je eksplozija događanje unutar našeg "kozmičkog dvorišta", koje dolazi iz zviježđa Eridan.

To je najenergičnije zračenje i s najdužim gama-zračenjem od bilo kojeg rafalnog zračenja otkrivenog do danas, kažu iz njemačkog tima koji ga je zabilježio. Prethodni rafali gama-zraka bili su u prosjeku udaljeni dvadeset milijardi svjetlosnih godina. Rafal koji je nazvan GRB 190829A prvi put je otkriven 29. kolovoza 2019. godine.

Zapažanja H.E.S.S.-a daju novo svjetlo saznanjima o tome na koji način se proizvode gama-zrake u ovim kolosalnim zvjezdanim eksplozijama koje predstavljaju rođenje crnih rupa, navode iz tima.

Dr Andrew Taylor iz njemačkog "Electron Synchrotrona", koautor studije, rekao je da su bili "u prvom redu" kada se dogodio rafal gama-zraka, a znanstvenici su mogli promatrati naknadni sjaj nekoliko dana poslije neviđene emisije energije gama-zraka.

U istraživanje je bila uključena i koautorica ‪Edna Ruiz-Velasco, doktorantica s Instituta za nuklearnu fiziku "Max Planck" u Njemačkoj. Rekla je da su uspjeli odrediti spektar eksplozije do 3,3 teraelektronvolta.

Znanstvenica Sylvia Zhu, jedna od autorica rada, rekla je da su ovi rafali najveće eksplozije u svemiru izazvani kolapsom zvijezde koja se brzo rotira.

- Njihova emisija je podijeljena u dvije različite faze: početna kaotična faza koja traje desetine sekundi, nakon čega slijedi dugotrajna faza naknadnog sjaja - objasnila je Zhu.

Utvrđene teorije pretpostavljaju da se dvije emisijske komponente moraju proizvoditi odvojenim mehanizmima, slično onom kako akceleratori čestica na Zemlji proizvode sjajne rendgenske zrake za znanstvena istraživanja.

Međutim, prema postojećim teorijama činilo se vrlo malo vjerojatnim da bi čak i najmoćnije eksplozije u svemiru mogle ubrzati elektrone dovoljno da direktno proizvedu promatrane gama-zrake vrlo visoke energije. To je zbog "granice sagorijevanja", koja se određuje ravnotežom ubrzanja i hlađenja čestica unutar akceleratora na Zemlji, objašnjavaju stručnjaci.

Ali zapažanja naknadnog sjaja GRB 190829A sada pokazuju da su obje komponente, rendgen i gama-zrak, sinkronizirano izblijedjele. Također, spektar gama-zraka se jasno podudarao sa ekstrapolacijom rendgenskog spektra. Zajedno, svi ovi rezultati snažni su pokazatelj da su eks-zrake i vrlo visokoenergetske gama-zrake proizvedene istim mehanizmom, objašnjeno je na portalu National Geographic.

Na više od milijardu svjetlosnih godina od Zemlje, u zviježđu Eridan, snimljena je masivna eksplozija gama-zraka. Eksplozija je zapravo bila smrt zvijezde i početak njezine transformacije u crnu rupu, kažu stručnjaci iz njemačkog "Electron Synchrotrona" u Hamburgu. Ovaj svemirski događaj predstavlja najveću dosad snimljenu eksploziju u svemiru, piše National Geographic.

Masivni rafal gama-zraka sastojao se od kombinacije blistavih rendgenskih i gama zračenja zabilježenih na nebu, koje su emitirali udaljeni ekstragalaktički izvori. Otkrili su ga svemirski teleskopi "Fermi" i "Swift", uz podršku Zemljinog teleskopa "High Energy Stereoscopic System (H.E.S.S.)" u Namibiji.

Iako se nalazi na milijardu svjetlosnih godina od Zemlje, smatra se da je eksplozija događanje unutar našeg "kozmičkog dvorišta", koje dolazi iz zviježđa Eridan.

To je najenergičnije zračenje i s najdužim gama-zračenjem od bilo kojeg rafalnog zračenja otkrivenog do danas, kažu iz njemačkog tima koji ga je zabilježio. Prethodni rafali gama-zraka bili su u prosjeku udaljeni dvadeset milijardi svjetlosnih godina. Rafal koji je nazvan GRB 190829A prvi put je otkriven 29. kolovoza 2019. godine.

Zapažanja H.E.S.S.-a daju novo svjetlo saznanjima o tome na koji način se proizvode gama-zrake u ovim kolosalnim zvjezdanim eksplozijama koje predstavljaju rođenje crnih rupa, navode iz tima.

Dr Andrew Taylor iz njemačkog "Electron Synchrotrona", koautor studije, rekao je da su bili "u prvom redu" kada se dogodio rafal gama-zraka, a znanstvenici su mogli promatrati naknadni sjaj nekoliko dana poslije neviđene emisije energije gama-zraka.

U istraživanje je bila uključena i koautorica ‪Edna Ruiz-Velasco, doktorantica s Instituta za nuklearnu fiziku "Max Planck" u Njemačkoj. Rekla je da su uspjeli odrediti spektar eksplozije do 3,3 teraelektronvolta.

Znanstvenica Sylvia Zhu, jedna od autorica rada, rekla je da su ovi rafali najveće eksplozije u svemiru izazvani kolapsom zvijezde koja se brzo rotira.

- Njihova emisija je podijeljena u dvije različite faze: početna kaotična faza koja traje desetine sekundi, nakon čega slijedi dugotrajna faza naknadnog sjaja - objasnila je Zhu.

Utvrđene teorije pretpostavljaju da se dvije emisijske komponente moraju proizvoditi odvojenim mehanizmima, slično onom kako akceleratori čestica na Zemlji proizvode sjajne rendgenske zrake za znanstvena istraživanja.

Međutim, prema postojećim teorijama činilo se vrlo malo vjerojatnim da bi čak i najmoćnije eksplozije u svemiru mogle ubrzati elektrone dovoljno da direktno proizvedu promatrane gama-zrake vrlo visoke energije. To je zbog "granice sagorijevanja", koja se određuje ravnotežom ubrzanja i hlađenja čestica unutar akceleratora na Zemlji, objašnjavaju stručnjaci.

Ali zapažanja naknadnog sjaja GRB 190829A sada pokazuju da su obje komponente, rendgen i gama-zrak, sinkronizirano izblijedjele. Također, spektar gama-zraka se jasno podudarao sa ekstrapolacijom rendgenskog spektra. Zajedno, svi ovi rezultati snažni su pokazatelj da su eks-zrake i vrlo visokoenergetske gama-zrake proizvedene istim mehanizmom, objašnjeno je na portalu National Geographic.

U svemiru snimljena najveća eksplozija dosad: pogledajte kako izgleda smrt zvijezde i rađanje crne rupe

Na više od milijardu svjetlosnih godina od Zemlje, u zviježđu Eridan, snimljena je masivna eksplozija gama-zraka. Eksplozija je zapravo bila smrt zvijezde i početak njezine transformacije u crnu rupu, kažu stručnjaci iz njemačkog "Electron Synchrotrona" u Hamburgu. Ovaj svemirski događaj predstavlja najveću dosad snimljenu eksploziju u svemiru, piše National Geographic.

Masivni rafal gama-zraka sastojao se od kombinacije blistavih rendgenskih i gama zračenja zabilježenih na nebu, koje su emitirali udaljeni ekstragalaktički izvori. Otkrili su ga svemirski teleskopi "Fermi" i "Swift", uz podršku Zemljinog teleskopa "High Energy Stereoscopic System (H.E.S.S.)" u Namibiji.
