Skiper s čamca koji je plovio u blizini Valencije nedavno je uočio kita koji je bio zapetljan u ribarsku mrežu. Odmah je pozvao veterinarsku službu i primijetio da je 17 metara dugo i 40 tona teško tijelo životinje - oštro savijeno, piše National Geographic.

Čim su stigli, biolozi i veterinari su pomoću snimke s drona zaključili da kit ima - skoliozu. 

"Stanje kita izgledalo je toliko ozbiljno da je odmah poslati spasilački tim, navodi se u Facebook objavi Oceanografske zaklade u Valenciji.  

Biolozi su se nadali da će na kita moći pričvrstiti na odašiljač, ali deformacija njegove kralježnice to je učinila nemogućim. Poslije nekoliko sati, kit je teško plivajući napustio obalu.

Skolioza među kitovima je rijetka, ali kada se pojavi, uvijek bude shvaćena ozbiljno. Nekoliko godina ranije, 2019. je otkriven jedan kit manji od ovog, s istom deformacijom kičme te su istraživači dobili priliku da izbliza prouče anatomski utjecaj skolioze na kitove.

Njihovi nalazi ukazuju na zajedničku mehaničku osnovu za skoliozu i kod ljudi i kitova. Ispostavilo se da ljudi mogu razumjeti koje bolove kitovi prolaze više nego bilo koji drugi sisavci, jer su ljudi jedina vrsta sisavaca kojima se ovaj zdravstveni problem razvija spontano i bez očiglednog uzroka. 

S druge strane, anatomija kitova osigurava ovim "morskim divovima" kralježnične stubove koji su manje skloni savijanju pod opterećenjem tijela.

U slučaju kita uočenog kod Valencije, nejasno je kako je došlo do deformacije njegove kralježnice. S porastom globalnog brodskog prometa, susret s moćnim oceanskim brodom mogla bi, na žalost, biti objašnjenje za njegovo stanje.

Procjene sugeriraju da svake godine umre do 20.000 kitova zbog sudara s plovilima diljem svijeta svake godine, a većina ovih sudara uključuje kitove perajare, druge najveće sisavce na svijetu - jer provode dosta vremena blizu površine oceana. Sljedeća najčešća žrtva su grbavi kitovi.

"Potresne slike njegovog iskrivljenog tijela sve su nas uznemirile. Vjerojatno je trpio velike bolove, a ipak je plivao tisućama kilometara", navodi se u priopćenju za medije, koje je tada objavio BC Whales.

"To putovanje učinilo ga je potpuno iscrpljenim i u vidno lošem stanju. To je realni prikaz zdravlja kitova koji se sudare s brodom, i govori o dugotrajnoj patnji koju kitovi trpe nakon toga. To također govori o njihovom instinktu i navikama, odnosno koliko daleko idu samo da bi se uklopili u obrasce ponašanja."

I 2005. godine je u Britanskoj Kolumbiji pronađena i jedna orka koja je navodno rođena sa skoliozom. To je utjecalo na njenu sposobnost da pliva i lovi. Osnovni razlog za urođenu abnormalnost ovog stvorenja je nepoznat, ali nažalost, orka je umrla relativno mlada.

Slična urođena abnormalnost uočena je i kod dupina. Dupin sa skoliozom snimljen je prije desetak godina, dok je plivao s kitovima.

Skiper s čamca koji je plovio u blizini Valencije nedavno je uočio kita koji je bio zapetljan u ribarsku mrežu. Odmah je pozvao veterinarsku službu i primijetio da je 17 metara dugo i 40 tona teško tijelo životinje - oštro savijeno, piše National Geographic.

Čim su stigli, biolozi i veterinari su pomoću snimke s drona zaključili da kit ima - skoliozu. 

"Stanje kita izgledalo je toliko ozbiljno da je odmah poslati spasilački tim, navodi se u Facebook objavi Oceanografske zaklade u Valenciji.  

Biolozi su se nadali da će na kita moći pričvrstiti na odašiljač, ali deformacija njegove kralježnice to je učinila nemogućim. Poslije nekoliko sati, kit je teško plivajući napustio obalu.

Skolioza među kitovima je rijetka, ali kada se pojavi, uvijek bude shvaćena ozbiljno. Nekoliko godina ranije, 2019. je otkriven jedan kit manji od ovog, s istom deformacijom kičme te su istraživači dobili priliku da izbliza prouče anatomski utjecaj skolioze na kitove.

Njihovi nalazi ukazuju na zajedničku mehaničku osnovu za skoliozu i kod ljudi i kitova. Ispostavilo se da ljudi mogu razumjeti koje bolove kitovi prolaze više nego bilo koji drugi sisavci, jer su ljudi jedina vrsta sisavaca kojima se ovaj zdravstveni problem razvija spontano i bez očiglednog uzroka. 

S druge strane, anatomija kitova osigurava ovim "morskim divovima" kralježnične stubove koji su manje skloni savijanju pod opterećenjem tijela.

U slučaju kita uočenog kod Valencije, nejasno je kako je došlo do deformacije njegove kralježnice. S porastom globalnog brodskog prometa, susret s moćnim oceanskim brodom mogla bi, na žalost, biti objašnjenje za njegovo stanje.

Procjene sugeriraju da svake godine umre do 20.000 kitova zbog sudara s plovilima diljem svijeta svake godine, a većina ovih sudara uključuje kitove perajare, druge najveće sisavce na svijetu - jer provode dosta vremena blizu površine oceana. Sljedeća najčešća žrtva su grbavi kitovi.

"Potresne slike njegovog iskrivljenog tijela sve su nas uznemirile. Vjerojatno je trpio velike bolove, a ipak je plivao tisućama kilometara", navodi se u priopćenju za medije, koje je tada objavio BC Whales.

"To putovanje učinilo ga je potpuno iscrpljenim i u vidno lošem stanju. To je realni prikaz zdravlja kitova koji se sudare s brodom, i govori o dugotrajnoj patnji koju kitovi trpe nakon toga. To također govori o njihovom instinktu i navikama, odnosno koliko daleko idu samo da bi se uklopili u obrasce ponašanja."

I 2005. godine je u Britanskoj Kolumbiji pronađena i jedna orka koja je navodno rođena sa skoliozom. To je utjecalo na njenu sposobnost da pliva i lovi. Osnovni razlog za urođenu abnormalnost ovog stvorenja je nepoznat, ali nažalost, orka je umrla relativno mlada.

Slična urođena abnormalnost uočena je i kod dupina. Dupin sa skoliozom snimljen je prije desetak godina, dok je plivao s kitovima.

Skiper usred mora uočio kita. Ali ono što je vidio doslovce ga je zaprepastilo, ovako što se rijetko viđa

Skiper s čamca koji je plovio u blizini Valencije nedavno je uočio kita koji je bio zapetljan u ribarsku mrežu. Odmah je pozvao veterinarsku službu i primijetio da je 17 metara dugo i 40 tona teško tijelo životinje - oštro savijeno, piše National Geographic.

Čim su stigli, biolozi i veterinari su pomoću snimke s drona zaključili da kit ima - skoliozu. 

"Stanje kita izgledalo je toliko ozbiljno da je odmah poslati spasilački tim, navodi se u Facebook objavi Oceanografske zaklade u Valenciji.  

Biolozi su se nadali da će na kita moći pričvrstiti na odašiljač, ali deformacija njegove kralježnice to je učinila nemogućim. Poslije nekoliko sati, kit je teško plivajući napustio obalu.

Skolioza među kitovima je rijetka, ali kada se pojavi, uvijek bude shvaćena ozbiljn...
