Borba za život Geronima, alpake uvezene iz Novog Zelanda u Englesku, još uvijek traje. Geronimova vlasnica, Helen Macdonald, ima nalog za klanje alpake koja je dva puta bila pozitivna na tuberkulozu goveda. Gotovo 100.000 ljudi potpisalo je peticiju protiv tog naloga, a u ponedjeljak su pristaše Geronima marširale Downing Streetom pozivajući na poništenje odluke.

U Geronimovom domu, farmi u selu sjeverno od Bristola, grupa zaštitnika pojavila se da ga brani i Louise Jones (57), njegovateljica i čistačica u školi, iz Pucklechurcha, Južni Gloucestershire, rekla je: Nadajmo se da što je više ljudi ovdje, to će Defra (Odjel za hranu, okoliš i ruralna pitanja) biti teže ući .

- Ovdje sam od otprilike 6 sati, ali neki su ljudi ostali ovdje u automobilima preko noći, a jedan je tip kampirao ovdje u šatoru. Mislim da će ovo pokrenuti mnoge ljude - sad ću biti ovdje svaki dan, prilagođavajući se poslu, dodala je Louise.
Helen Macdonald ne može dobiti dozvolu za trećim testiranjem Geronima. Prošli tjedan izgubila je posljednju žalbu kako bi spasila životinju na visokom sudu u Londonu, a nalog za njezino uništenje je potpisano. Strpljivo su stajali na straži tvrdeći kako će staviti svoja tijela na put svima koji su došli po Geronimo alpaku.
- Ovdje sam od otprilike 6 sati, ali neki su ljudi ostali ovdje u automobilima preko noći, a jedan je tip kampirao ovdje u šatoru. Mislim da će ovo pokrenuti mnoge ljude - sad ću biti ovdje svaki dan, prilagođavajući se poslu, dodala je Louise.
Helen Macdonald ne može dobiti dozvolu za trećim testiranjem Geronima. Prošli tjedan izgubila je posljednju žalbu kako bi spasila životinju na visokom sudu u Londonu, a nalog za njezino uništenje je potpisano. Macdonald je rekla kako je zahvalna na podršci koju je dobila, te dodaje kako je Geronimo momentalno pomalo mrzovoljan od sve pažnje- zadnje vrijeme ga posjećuje puno ljudi.
