Spolno prenosiva bolest koje je nekada bila vrlo česta i bez mogućnosti liječenja, danas je rijedak slučaj. Rezultat je to efikasnog liječenja i strogih mjera koje se danas provode. U prošlosti su uzroci ove bolesti bili pogrešno shvaćani, iz čega su proizašle zastrašujuće i neprimjerene metode liječenja - piše National Geographic. 

U početku je bila poznata kao ‘Francuska bolest‘, a danas je poznata kao sifilis. Iako je točno podrijetlo nepoznato, prema jednoj teoriji sifilis su u Europu donijeli Kristofer Kolumbo i njegova posada. Bolest je vrlo brzo preplavila populaciju, a zaraženi su često umirali od posljedica bolesti. 

Vrlo brzo je postalo jasno da se radi o spolnoj bolesti, a ishitreno je i prihvaćen zaključak da bolest prenose isključivo žene. Posebno se upozoravalo na mogućnost zaraze od žena na lošem glasu, odnosno prostitutki. 

Uslijed nedostatka potvrđenih istraživanja o širenju zaraze, sifilis je pogrešno interpretiran široj javnosti. Mjere koje su predlagane za suzbijanje širenja bolesti su bile diskriminirajuće prema ženama. Dok su stručnjaci pozvali seksualne radnice da ‘ostanu čiste‘, muškarcima koji su tražili njihove usluge nije savjetovano isto. 

Jedan od pokušaja liječenja je bila i inokulacija, ubrizgavanje uzročnika bolesti u organizam s ciljem razvoja imuniteta. Tako je nepotrebno povećan i broj oboljelih i broj smrtnih slučajeva.

Spolno prenosiva bolest koje je nekada bila vrlo česta i bez mogućnosti liječenja, danas je rijedak slučaj. Rezultat je to efikasnog liječenja i strogih mjera koje se danas provode. U prošlosti su uzroci ove bolesti bili pogrešno shvaćani, iz čega su proizašle zastrašujuće i neprimjerene metode liječenja - piše National Geographic. 

U početku je bila poznata kao ‘Francuska bolest‘, a danas je poznata kao sifilis. Iako je točno podrijetlo nepoznato, prema jednoj teoriji sifilis su u Europu donijeli Kristofer Kolumbo i njegova posada. Bolest je vrlo brzo preplavila populaciju, a zaraženi su često umirali od posljedica bolesti. 

Vrlo brzo je postalo jasno da se radi o spolnoj bolesti, a ishitreno je i prihvaćen zaključak da bolest prenose isključivo žene. Posebno se upozoravalo na mogućnost zaraze od žena na lošem glasu, odnosno prostitutki. 

Uslijed nedostatka potvrđenih istraživanja o širenju zaraze, sifilis je pogrešno interpretiran široj javnosti. Mjere koje su predlagane za suzbijanje širenja bolesti su bile diskriminirajuće prema ženama. Dok su stručnjaci pozvali seksualne radnice da ‘ostanu čiste‘, muškarcima koji su tražili njihove usluge nije savjetovano isto. 

Jedan od pokušaja liječenja je bila i inokulacija, ubrizgavanje uzročnika bolesti u organizam s ciljem razvoja imuniteta. Tako je nepotrebno povećan i broj oboljelih i broj smrtnih slučajeva.

Pošast poznata kao ‘Francuska bolest‘ preplavila je svijet, a zbog diskriminirajućeg liječenja rastao broj umrlih

Spolno prenosiva bolest koje je nekada bila vrlo česta i bez mogućnosti liječenja, danas je rijedak slučaj. Rezultat je to efikasnog liječenja i strogih mjera koje se danas provode. U prošlosti su uzroci ove bolesti bili pogrešno shvaćani, iz čega su proizašle zastrašujuće i neprimjerene metode liječenja - piše National Geographic. 

U početku je bila poznata kao ‘Francuska bolest‘, a danas je poznata kao sifilis. Iako je točno podrijetlo nepoznato, prema jednoj teoriji sifilis su u Europu donijeli Kristofer Kolumbo i njegova posada. Bolest je vrlo brzo preplavila populaciju, a zaraženi su često umirali od posljedica bolesti. 

Vrlo brzo je postalo jasno da se radi o spolnoj bolesti, a ishitreno je i prihvaćen zaključak da bolest prenose isključivo žene. Posebno se upozoravalo na mogućnost zaraze od žena na lošem glasu, odnosno prostitutki. 

Uslijed nedostatka potvrđenih istraživanja o širenju zaraze, sifilis je pogrešno interpretiran široj javnosti. Mjere koje su predlagane za suzbijanje širenja bolesti su bile diskriminirajuće prema ženama. Dok su stručnjaci pozvali seksualne radnice da ‘ostanu čiste‘, muškarcima koji su tražili njihove usluge nije savjetovano isto. 

Jedan od pokušaja liječenja je bila i inokulacija, ubrizgavanje uzročnika bolesti u organizam s ciljem razvoja imuniteta. Tako je nepotrebno povećan i broj oboljelih i broj smrtnih slučajeva.
