Stanovnike australskog grada Menindee šokirao je prizor milijuna mrtvih riba u rijeci Darling-Baaka, javlja BBC, a prenosi Jutarnji list.

Pomor ribe u velikim razmjerima prijavljen je u petak ujutro na krajnjem zapadu Novog Južnog Walesa i gradiću gdje živi otprilike 500 ljudi.

Državne uprave za rijeke priopćile su da je pomor ribe posljedica toplotnog vala koji je zahvatio rijeku Darling-Baaka, koja je dio najvećeg australskog riječnog sustava Murray Darling Basina.

Mještani kažu da je ovo dosad najveći pomor ribe koji je pogodio grad, iako su isti prizor doživjeli i prije tri godine.

Lokalni stanovnik Menindeeja Graeme McCrabb opisao je ovu pojavu kao nadrealnu. Sa svojim sumještanima očekuje dodatno pogoršanje situacije, jer ribe koje se trenutno raspadaju isisavaju kisik iz vode potreban preostalim živim ribama.

- Možete samo zamisliti da ostavite ribu da trune u kuhinji, sa zatvorenim vratima i bez klima uređaja. Mi ih imamo na milijune, požalio se McCrabb.

Rekao je i da se lokalno stanovništvo oslanja na riječnu vodu za pranje i tuširanje, pa se boji da ljudi više neće moći koristiti vodu za osnovne potrebe.

- To je jednostavno sramotno, nadodao je McCrabb.

Odjel za primarnu industriju NSW-a, priopćio je da je toplinski val dodatno opteretio sustav koji je iskusio ekstremne uvjete zbog velikih poplava, a u suradnji sa saveznim agencijama pronaći će temeljne uzroke smrti.

Uprava Murray Darling Basina rekla je da su poljoprivreda, industrije i zajednica koristile vodu iz riječnog sustava što je rezultiralo manjim protokom vode kroz rijeku.

Područje oko ovog riječnog sustava sklono je ekstremnim vremenskim prilikama i ima vrlo promjenjivu klimu zbog čega je osjetljivo na požare i suše, a očekuje se da će temperature u subotu doseći 41 Celzijevih stupnjeva.

Plan vrijedan 13 milijardi australskih dolara implementiran je 2012. godine s ciljem vraćanja rijeke na zdraviju razinu i zaustavljanja isušivanja.

Stanovnike australskog grada Menindee šokirao je prizor milijuna mrtvih riba u rijeci Darling-Baaka, javlja BBC, a prenosi Jutarnji list.

Pomor ribe u velikim razmjerima prijavljen je u petak ujutro na krajnjem zapadu Novog Južnog Walesa i gradiću gdje živi otprilike 500 ljudi.

Državne uprave za rijeke priopćile su da je pomor ribe posljedica toplotnog vala koji je zahvatio rijeku Darling-Baaka, koja je dio najvećeg australskog riječnog sustava Murray Darling Basina.

Mještani kažu da je ovo dosad najveći pomor ribe koji je pogodio grad, iako su isti prizor doživjeli i prije tri godine.

Lokalni stanovnik Menindeeja Graeme McCrabb opisao je ovu pojavu kao nadrealnu. Sa svojim sumještanima očekuje dodatno pogoršanje situacije, jer ribe koje se trenutno raspadaju isisavaju kisik iz vode potreban preostalim živim ribama.

- Možete samo zamisliti da ostavite ribu da trune u kuhinji, sa zatvorenim vratima i bez klima uređaja. Mi ih imamo na milijune, požalio se McCrabb.

Rekao je i da se lokalno stanovništvo oslanja na riječnu vodu za pranje i tuširanje, pa se boji da ljudi više neće moći koristiti vodu za osnovne potrebe.

- To je jednostavno sramotno, nadodao je McCrabb.

Odjel za primarnu industriju NSW-a, priopćio je da je toplinski val dodatno opteretio sustav koji je iskusio ekstremne uvjete zbog velikih poplava, a u suradnji sa saveznim agencijama pronaći će temeljne uzroke smrti.

Uprava Murray Darling Basina rekla je da su poljoprivreda, industrije i zajednica koristile vodu iz riječnog sustava što je rezultiralo manjim protokom vode kroz rijeku.

Područje oko ovog riječnog sustava sklono je ekstremnim vremenskim prilikama i ima vrlo promjenjivu klimu zbog čega je osjetljivo na požare i suše, a očekuje se da će temperature u subotu doseći 41 Celzijevih stupnjeva.

Plan vrijedan 13 milijardi australskih dolara implementiran je 2012. godine s ciljem vraćanja rijeke na zdraviju razinu i zaustavljanja isušivanja.

Stanovnike australskog grada Menindee šokirao je prizor milijuna mrtvih riba u rijeci Darling-Baaka, javlja BBC, a prenosi Jutarnji list.

Pomor ribe u velikim razmjerima prijavljen je u petak ujutro na krajnjem zapadu Novog Južnog Walesa i gradiću gdje živi otprilike 500 ljudi.

Državne uprave za rijeke priopćile su da je pomor ribe posljedica toplotnog vala koji je zahvatio rijeku Darling-Baaka, koja je dio najvećeg australskog riječnog sustava Murray Darling Basina.

Mještani kažu da je ovo dosad najveći pomor ribe koji je pogodio grad, iako su isti prizor doživjeli i prije tri godine.
