Tajland je zabranio određene vrste kreme za zaštitu od sunca u pokušaju da zaštiti koraljne grebene na svojim netaknutim plažama i otocima. Odluka je donesena nakon što se pokazalo da su upravo ti kozmetički proizvodi zaslužni za štetu počinjenu na okolišu na drugim lokacijama gdje je turizam već uzeo maha.
Novi zakon, koji zabranjuje proizvode s četiri kemijska spoja za koje se pokazalo da uzrokuju izbjeljivanje i uništavanje koralja kao odgovor na stresne uvjete, stupio je na snagu u srijedu. Prekršiteljima prijeti maksimalna kazna od oko 3.000 dolara.
Koralji su bitan dio morskog ekosustava, ali klimatske promjene i porast temperature mora uzrokovali su izbjeljivanje na grebenima diljem svijeta. Taj proces pretvara nekad živopisna staništa u pustare poput groblja kostura. Izbjeljivanje koralja je moguće zaustaviti i ponovno ih oživjeti ako se razine stresa ubrzo smanje. U protivnom bi koralji bi mogli umrijeti od gladi.

"Prikupili smo mnogo znanstvenih podataka o tome kako te kemikalije mogu naštetiti našim koraljnim grebenima. Već neko vrijeme razmišljamo o uvođenju ove mjere," rekao je u videu za VICE direktor Tajlandskog ureda za nacionalne parkove Dumras Phoprasit.
Dumras je rekao da je tu raspravu pokrenuo privatni sektor tajlandske turističke industrije, koji je već dugo zabrinut zbog štete po okoliš. Nadaju se da će sačuvati čuvene tajlandske morske nacionalne parkove koji sadrže neke od najpoznatijih svjetskih plaža.
Zabranjeni kemijski spojevi za zaštitu od sunca su oksibenzon, oktinoksat, 4-metilbenzilid kamfor i butilparaben.
Međutim, dužnosnici neće zapljenjivati štetne kreme za sunčanje od prekršitelja. Proizvodi će se jednostavno oduzeti tijekom boravka i vraćeni nakon što vlasnici napuste područje.

Tajland je zabranio određene vrste kreme za zaštitu od sunca u pokušaju da zaštiti koraljne grebene na svojim netaknutim plažama i otocima. Odluka je donesena nakon što se pokazalo da su upravo ti kozmetički proizvodi zaslužni za štetu počinjenu na okolišu na drugim lokacijama gdje je turizam već uzeo maha.
Novi zakon, koji zabranjuje proizvode s četiri kemijska spoja za koje se pokazalo da uzrokuju izbjeljivanje i uništavanje koralja kao odgovor na stresne uvjete, stupio je na snagu u srijedu. Prekršiteljima prijeti maksimalna kazna od oko 3.000 dolara.
Koralji su bitan dio morskog ekosustava, ali klimatske promjene i porast temperature mora uzrokovali su izbjeljivanje na grebenima diljem svijeta. Taj proces pretvara nekad živopisna staništa u pustare poput groblja kostura. Izbjeljivanje koralja je moguće zaustaviti i ponovno ih oživjeti ako se razine stresa ubrzo smanje. U protivnom bi koralji bi mogli umrijeti od gladi.

"Prikupili smo mnogo znanstvenih podataka o tome kako te kemikalije mogu naštetiti našim koraljnim grebenima. Već neko vrijeme razmišljamo o uvođenju ove mjere," rekao je u videu za VICE direktor Tajlandskog ureda za nacionalne parkove Dumras Phoprasit.
Dumras je rekao da je tu raspravu pokrenuo privatni sektor tajlandske turističke industrije, koji je već dugo zabrinut zbog štete po okoliš. Nadaju se da će sačuvati čuvene tajlandske morske nacionalne parkove koji sadrže neke od najpoznatijih svjetskih plaža.
Zabranjeni kemijski spojevi za zaštitu od sunca su oksibenzon, oktinoksat, 4-metilbenzilid kamfor i butilparaben.
Međutim, dužnosnici neće zapljenjivati štetne kreme za sunčanje od prekršitelja. Proizvodi će se jednostavno oduzeti tijekom boravka i vraćeni nakon što vlasnici napuste područje.
