U značajnom podvigu ljudske izdržljivosti i medicinskog napretka, Safina Namukwaya, 70-godišnja žena iz Ugande, rodila je blizance in vitro oplodnjom (IVF). Porođaj je održan u Međunarodnoj ženskoj bolnici i centru za plodnost u Kampali, čime je Namukwaya postala najstarija žena koja je rodila u Africi. Otpornost usred izazova
Namukwayin put do majčinstva bio je daleko od glatkog. Tijekom trudnoće naišla je na nekoliko prepreka, među kojima je i odlazak oca njezine djece. U značajnom podvigu ljudske izdržljivosti i medicinskog napretka, Safina Namukwaya, 70-godišnja žena iz Ugande, rodila je blizance in vitro oplodnjom (IVF). Porođaj je održan u Međunarodnoj ženskoj bolnici i centru za plodnost u Kampali, čime je Namukwaya postala najstarija žena koja je rodila u Africi. Izvještava se da su i majka i novorođenčad dobrog zdravlja.
Otpornost usred izazova
Namukwayin put do majčinstva bio je daleko od glatkog. Tijekom trudnoće naišla je na nekoliko prepreka, među kojima je i odlazak oca njezine djece. Unatoč prirodnom padu plodnosti i povećanim zdravstvenim rizicima povezanim s poodmaklom dobi, Namukwayina uspješna trudnoća u 70. godini pokazuje golemi potencijal IVF tretmana i nadu koju oni donose onima koji kasnije u životu žele prihvatiti roditeljstvo.
