U Galeriji umjetnina u Splitu postavljena je skupna izložba "Drugi grad – izbor radova splitskih i dubrovačkih suvremenih umjetnika/ca" koju je tijekom studenoga premijerno imala prilike vidjeti dubrovačka publika.
Budući da je izložba rezultat suradničkog projekta Umjetničke galerije Dubrovnik i Galerije umjetnina iz Splita, već smo imali prilike pisati o tome kako "Drugi grad" progovara o zajedničkim temama, prvenstveno o problematici življenja u gradovima koji se pod turističkim stampedom pretvaraju u destinacije, darovne dućane i filmske kulise.
Zastupljeni umjetnici tumače ugroženost javnog prostora, apartmanizaciju, betonizaciju i utrku za novcem, izokrenute vrijednosti te društvene pojave, kao što su sve češća povlačenja građana u zadnje oaze humaniteta.
Splitska selekcija umjetnika generacijski okuplja imena koji su radom već kasnih osamdesetih godina počeli promišljati svoje okruženje, preko onih koji su na prijelazu milenija kroz umjetnički i pedagoški rad značajno promijenili splitsku scenu uspostavivši vezu s relevantnim domaćim i međunarodnim pojavama u suvremenoj umjetnosti.
Konačno, tu su i friški diplomanti splitskog UMAS-a, koji su djelovanjem više-manje izravno ostali vezani uz Split.
Raznoliki kreativni bazen
Raznoliki je to kreativni bazen, i konceptualno i medijski, i formalno, i nemoguće je iz njega izliti neku dominantnu struju, ali to samo govori o slojevitosti, i života grada i prakse njegovih umjetnika. Međutim, ono što je zajedničko svim zastupljenim umjetnicima jest to da o predmetu svog rada, o gradu u svojoj suvremenosti, ne izlažu pojednostavljeno, dvodimenzionalno i klišeizirano.
U tekstu kataloga, kustosica Jasminka Babić ovako je to objasnila: "Split je podjednako grad i Vidovića i Meštrovića, ali i Crvenog Peristila i Zlatana Dumanića. Grad je to koji se prema svojim umjetnicima, a i oni prema njemu, odnosio i odnosi istovremeno s poštovanjem i s porugom.
Nemoguće je ograničenim izborom umjetnika prikazati svu spomenutu slojevitost i složenost percepcije grada i dinamične odnose koji tvore njegovu svakodnevicu. No važno je još jednom napomenuti da su se postojećim odabirom nastojala prikazati promišljena istraživanja i radovi koji prkose površnim, banaliziranim i stereotipnim predodžbama suvremenog Splita."
Uz Babić, koja kustoski potpisuje splitski dio izložbe, kustosica dubrovačkog dijela je Rozana Vojvoda, a umjetnici koji izlažu su: Valentino Bilić Prcić, Duška Boban, Pasko Burđelez, Viktor Daldon, Tanja Deman, Ivana Dražić Selmani, Rino Efendić, Marko Ercegović, Tina Gverović, Ivana Jelavić, Ana Kuzmanić, Toni Meštrović, Ana Opalić, Ivana Pegan Baće, Vedran Perkov, Luko Piplica, Boris Poljak, Viktor Popović, Ana Požar Piplica, Kristina Restović, Neli Ružić, Lana Stojićević, Slaven Tolj, Gildo Bavčević i Ivona Vlašić.
Izložba je u Galeriji umjetnina otvorena do 31. siječnja 2021. godine.

U Galeriji umjetnina u Splitu postavljena je skupna izložba "Drugi grad – izbor radova splitskih i dubrovačkih suvremenih umjetnika/ca" koju je tijekom studenoga premijerno imala prilike vidjeti dubrovačka publika.
Budući da je izložba rezultat suradničkog projekta Umjetničke galerije Dubrovnik i Galerije umjetnina iz Splita, već smo imali prilike pisati o tome kako "Drugi grad" progovara o zajedničkim temama, prvenstveno o problematici življenja u gradovima koji se pod turističkim stampedom pretvaraju u destinacije, darovne dućane i filmske kulise.
Zastupljeni umjetnici tumače ugroženost javnog prostora, apartmanizaciju, betonizaciju i utrku za novcem, izokrenute vrijednosti te društvene pojave, kao što su sve češća povlačenja građana u zadnje oaze humaniteta.
Splitska selekcija umjetnika generacijski okuplja imena koji su radom već kasnih osamdesetih godina počeli promišljati svoje okruženje, preko onih koji su na prijelazu milenija kroz umjetnički i pedagoški rad značajno promijenili splitsku scenu uspostavivši vezu s relevantnim domaćim i međunarodnim pojavama u suvremenoj umjetnosti.
Konačno, tu su i friški diplomanti splitskog UMAS-a, koji su djelovanjem više-manje izravno ostali vezani uz Split.
Raznoliki kreativni bazen
Raznoliki je to kreativni bazen, i konceptualno i medijski, i formalno, i nemoguće je iz njega izliti neku dominantnu struju, ali to samo govori o slojevitosti, i života grada i prakse njegovih umjetnika. Međutim, ono što je zajedničko svim zastupljenim umjetnicima jest to da o predmetu svog rada, o gradu u svojoj suvremenosti, ne izlažu pojednostavljeno, dvodimenzionalno i klišeizirano.
U tekstu kataloga, kustosica Jasminka Babić ovako je to objasnila: "Split je podjednako grad i Vidovića i Meštrovića, ali i Crvenog Peristila i Zlatana Dumanića. Grad je to koji se prema svojim umjetnicima, a i oni prema njemu, odnosio i odnosi istovremeno s poštovanjem i s porugom.
Nemoguće je ograničenim izborom umjetnika prikazati svu spomenutu slojevitost i složenost percepcije grada i dinamične odnose koji tvore njegovu svakodnevicu. No važno je još jednom napomenuti da su se postojećim odabirom nastojala prikazati promišljena istraživanja i radovi koji prkose površnim, banaliziranim i stereotipnim predodžbama suvremenog Splita."
Uz Babić, koja kustoski potpisuje splitski dio izložbe, kustosica dubrovačkog dijela je Rozana Vojvoda, a umjetnici koji izlažu su: Valentino Bilić Prcić, Duška Boban, Pasko Burđelez, Viktor Daldon, Tanja Deman, Ivana Dražić Selmani, Rino Efendić, Marko Ercegović, Tina Gverović, Ivana Jelavić, Ana Kuzmanić, Toni Meštrović, Ana Opalić, Ivana Pegan Baće, Vedran Perkov, Luko Piplica, Boris Poljak, Viktor Popović, Ana Požar Piplica, Kristina Restović, Neli Ružić, Lana Stojićević, Slaven Tolj, Gildo Bavčević i Ivona Vlašić.
Izložba je u Galeriji umjetnina otvorena do 31. siječnja 2021. godine.
