Direktor UNESCO-a Koichiro Matsuura uručio je u u utorak u Sarajevu predstavnicima vlasti Bosne i Hercegovine certifikat kojim je potvrđeno uvrštavanje mosta Mehmed-paše Sokolovića u Višegradu na popis svjetske kulturne baštine.

Most građen u 16. stoljeću podigao je najveći graditelj Otomanskog Carstva iz tog razdoblja Mimar Sinan kao zadužbinu Mehmed-paše Sokolovića, velikog vezira rođenog upravo u okolici Višegrada, koji je služio čak trojicu turskih sultana.

Erodirana baština

Most je bio važnom poveznicom na trgovačkom putu koji je povezivao Bosnu s Istanbulom, a kasnije je u nekoliko navrata bio oštećen te rekonstruiran, no svoj je izvorni izgled sačuvao do današnjeg dana. Trenutačno se smatra ugroženim zbog erozije dijelova konstrukcije prouzročene čestim povećanim vodostajem Drine, do čega dolazi zbog potreba rada obližnje hidroelektrane.

Svjetski poznat višegradski je most postao kada ga je u svom romanu "Na Drini ćuprija" opisao Ivo Andrić dobivši za to djelo Nobelovu nagradu. Nacionalnim spomenikom Bosne i Hercegovine ovaj je most proglašen 2003. godine.

Komplikacije oko ceremonije

Na popis svjetske baštine UNESCO-a uvršten je u lipnju 2007. godine, a iako je tako bilo ranije najavljivano, ceremonija uručenja UNESCO-va certifikata nije održana u Višegradu i na samom mostu.

Organizatori su procijenili kako postoji sigurnosni rizik s obzirom da su članice udruge bošnjačkih žena "Žene - žrtve rata" u isto vrijeme kada je tamo trebao biti direktor UNESCO-a željele na most postaviti spomen-ploču Bošnjacima ubijenim u Višegradu tijekom rata 1992-1995. godine.

Direktor UNESCO-a Koichiro Matsuura uručio je u u utorak u Sarajevu predstavnicima vlasti Bosne i Hercegovine certifikat kojim je potvrđeno uvrštavanje mosta Mehmed-paše Sokolovića u Višegradu na popis svjetske kulturne baštine.

Most građen u 16. stoljeću podigao je najveći graditelj Otomanskog Carstva iz tog razdoblja Mimar Sinan kao zadužbinu Mehmed-paše Sokolovića, velikog vezira rođenog upravo u okolici Višegrada, koji je služio čak trojicu turskih sultana.

Erodirana baština

Most je bio važnom poveznicom na trgovačkom putu koji je povezivao Bosnu s Istanbulom, a kasnije je u nekoliko navrata bio oštećen te rekonstruiran, no svoj je izvorni izgled sačuvao do današnjeg dana. Trenutačno se smatra ugroženim zbog erozije dijelova konstrukcije prouzročene čestim povećanim vodostajem Drine, do čega dolazi zbog potreba rada obližnje hidroelektrane.

Svjetski poznat višegradski je most postao kada ga je u svom romanu "Na Drini ćuprija" opisao Ivo Andrić dobivši za to djelo Nobelovu nagradu. Nacionalnim spomenikom Bosne i Hercegovine ovaj je most proglašen 2003. godine.

Komplikacije oko ceremonije

Na popis svjetske baštine UNESCO-a uvršten je u lipnju 2007. godine, a iako je tako bilo ranije najavljivano, ceremonija uručenja UNESCO-va certifikata nije održana u Višegradu i na samom mostu.

Organizatori su procijenili kako postoji sigurnosni rizik s obzirom da su članice udruge bošnjačkih žena "Žene - žrtve rata" u isto vrijeme kada je tamo trebao biti direktor UNESCO-a željele na most postaviti spomen-ploču Bošnjacima ubijenim u Višegradu tijekom rata 1992-1995. godine.
