Na ovogodišnjem, 13. MAG festivalu u Splitu u ponedjeljak, 29. kolovoza, u Hrvatskom domu nastupa svjetski poznati tereminist Thorwald Jørgensen, čiji su neobičan instrument Splićani već jednom imali prilike čuti.

Naime, nizozemski glazbenik nastupio je u kolovozu 2019. u Muzeju grada Splita, a ove se godine, uz nastup s gudačkim ansamblom MAG, sprema odsvirati duet s gitaristom Josipom Dragnićem, s kojim će praizvesti jedinu skladbu napisanu za ovakav duet, pod nazivom “Oumuamua”. I – napisanu baš za njega. Thorwald potiče stvaranje novog repertoara za teremin, tako da su skladatelji iz cijelog svijeta pisali djela za njega, a i on sam sklada za ovaj, kod nas još slabo poznat instrument.

Što je zapravo teremin?

Teremin ili termenvox je elektronički glazbeni instrument za koji bi se lakše moglo reći da se njime upravlja nego da ga netko svira, i to je jedini instrument na kojem se svira – bez dodira!

Ime je dobio po svojem izumitelju, Leonu Thereminu, radiofizičaru na Institutu Ruske akademije znanosti, koji je patentirao uređaj 1928. godine u Sankt Peterburgu.

Instrument reagira na svaki pokret tijela tereminista, a, ugrubo, sastoji se od kutije s elektronikom i dvije metalne antene. Minucioznim pomicanjem prstiju i zglobova ruku u zraku, te približavanjem ili udaljavanjem od antena glazbenik izvlači različite tonove, što je vrlo interesantno gledati jer se razlikuje od svih općepoznatih tehnika sviranja. Zvuk teremina najviše može podsjetiti na zvuk violine, mada malo – jeziviji.

Stoga je posljednjih 50 godina često korišten za glazbene teme SF filmova, pa je, recimo, soundtrack “Star Treka”, “Zvjezdanih staza”, odsviran upravo na tereminu. I kod nas poznati serijal “Ubojstva u Midsomeru” počinje i završava glazbenom temom na tereminu, a ljubitelji “Teorije velikog praska” mogli su u jednoj epizodi čuti kako zvuči dok ga svira Sheldon, nervirajući svoga cimera Leonarda i Penny.

Teremin se koristi u avangardnoj i novoj glazbi 20. i 21. stoljeća, ali i u popularnim glazbenim žanrovima, rock ga nije zaobišao. Beach Boys koristili su ga u “Good Vibrations”, Led Zeppelin u “Whole Lotta Love”, Rolling Stones u “Please Go Home”, Erykah Badu u “Incense”, a može ga se čuti kako vibrira i kod niza drugih glazbenika. •

Na ovogodišnjem, 13. MAG festivalu u Splitu u ponedjeljak, 29. kolovoza, u Hrvatskom domu nastupa svjetski poznati tereminist Thorwald Jørgensen, čiji su neobičan instrument Splićani već jednom imali prilike čuti.

Naime, nizozemski glazbenik nastupio je u kolovozu 2019. u Muzeju grada Splita, a ove se godine, uz nastup s gudačkim ansamblom MAG, sprema odsvirati duet s gitaristom Josipom Dragnićem, s kojim će praizvesti jedinu skladbu napisanu za ovakav duet, pod nazivom “Oumuamua”. I – napisanu baš za njega. Thorwald potiče stvaranje novog repertoara za teremin, tako da su skladatelji iz cijelog svijeta pisali djela za njega, a i on sam sklada za ovaj, kod nas još slabo poznat instrument.

Što je zapravo teremin?

Teremin ili termenvox je elektronički glazbeni instrument za koji bi se lakše moglo reći da se njime upravlja nego da ga netko svira, i to je jedini instrument na kojem se svira – bez dodira!

Ime je dobio po svojem izumitelju, Leonu Thereminu, radiofizičaru na Institutu Ruske akademije znanosti, koji je patentirao uređaj 1928. godine u Sankt Peterburgu.

Instrument reagira na svaki pokret tijela tereminista, a, ugrubo, sastoji se od kutije s elektronikom i dvije metalne antene. Minucioznim pomicanjem prstiju i zglobova ruku u zraku, te približavanjem ili udaljavanjem od antena glazbenik izvlači različite tonove, što je vrlo interesantno gledati jer se razlikuje od svih općepoznatih tehnika sviranja. Zvuk teremina najviše može podsjetiti na zvuk violine, mada malo – jeziviji.

Stoga je posljednjih 50 godina često korišten za glazbene teme SF filmova, pa je, recimo, soundtrack “Star Treka”, “Zvjezdanih staza”, odsviran upravo na tereminu. I kod nas poznati serijal “Ubojstva u Midsomeru” počinje i završava glazbenom temom na tereminu, a ljubitelji “Teorije velikog praska” mogli su u jednoj epizodi čuti kako zvuči dok ga svira Sheldon, nervirajući svoga cimera Leonarda i Penny.

Teremin se koristi u avangardnoj i novoj glazbi 20. i 21. stoljeća, ali i u popularnim glazbenim žanrovima, rock ga nije zaobišao. Beach Boys koristili su ga u “Good Vibrations”, Led Zeppelin u “Whole Lotta Love”, Rolling Stones u “Please Go Home”, Erykah Badu u “Incense”, a može ga se čuti kako vibrira i kod niza drugih glazbenika. •

Na ovogodišnjem, 13. MAG festivalu u Splitu u ponedjeljak, 29. kolovoza, u Hrvatskom domu nastupa svjetski poznati tereminist Thorwald Jørgensen, čiji su neobičan instrument Splićani već jednom imali prilike čuti.

Naime, nizozemski glazbenik nastupio je u kolovozu 2019. u Muzeju grada Splita, a ove se godine, uz nastup s gudačkim ansamblom MAG, sprema odsvirati duet s gitaristom Josipom Dragnićem, s kojim će praizvesti jedinu skladbu napisanu za ovakav duet, pod nazivom “Oumuamua”. I – napisanu baš za njega. Thorwald potiče stvaranje novog repertoara za teremin, tako da su skladatelji iz cijelog svijeta pisali djela za njega, a i on sam sklada za ovaj, kod nas još slabo poznat instrument.
