Posljednjih mjeseci nije bilo njegovih tekstova u "Novom listu". Nije ni sudjelovao na zajedničkoj kritičarskoj listi najboljih filmova 2021. godine za film-mag.net. Sve to je sugeriralo da nešto nije u redu, ali ne i da je ono najgore.

Međutim, današnja vijest je bila neumoljiva: nakon teške bolesti u 66. godini preminuo je Dragan Rubeša, dugogodišnji filmski kritičar "Novog lista". Smrt se dogodila svega dan nakon ovogodišnje dodjele priznanja Hrvatskog društva filmskih kritičara koje je Rubeši već dalo nagradu "Vladimir Vuković" za kritiku.

To je iznimno veliki gubitak za hrvatsku filmsku kritiku, novinarstvo i kulturu. Dragi kolega je bio jedan od naših najboljih kritičara i posljednji festivalski Mohikanac hrvatske kritike.

On je jedini kritičar koji je od početka 2000-ih redovno pohađao sva tri najveća europska festivala (Cannes, Venecija, Berlin) i pisao izvještaje o pogledanim filmovima. Ostali kritičari polako su se festivalski osipali unatrag desetak godina. Rubeša je ostao.

Po izvještajima iz Cannesa i Venecije ga je potpisnik ovog "in memoriama" najprije i zapazio, čitajući njegove festivalske reportaže u časopisu "Hollywood". Svaki tekst je odisao filmofilijom, lucidnošću i filmskom erudicijom. U Veneciji smo se i upoznali 2005. te nastavili sretati u Cannesu i razmijenjivati dojmove u kratkim pauzama između projekcija i pisanja.

Pogledati što više filmova Rubeši je bio najveći prioritet, po mogućnosti nehollywoodskih, egzotičnih, rubnih, radikalnih, subverzivnih, a onda o viđenom izvijestiti čitatelje i buduće gledatelje. Za takva ostvarenja, koja je otkrivao i na manjim festivalima poput onog istočnoazijskog filma u Udinama ili Locarna, Rubeša je bio kritičarski specijalist, zasigurno i najveći u Hrvatskoj.

Zato, nije čudno da se njegova "best of" knjiga tekstova, nažalost jedina, zove baš "Govor tijela: zapisi o neholivudskom filmu" ("od kineskog gay-filma, francuskog filmskog etna, art-pornića, katalonskih 'movida', te o autorima s ruba filmske industrije, kultnim redateljima, neobičnim motivima...").

Također, nije čudno ni da je kao programski savjetnik radio baš za Subversive FF od svih hrvatskih festivala i bio bliski suradnik riječkog Art kina "Croatia". Pisao je Rubeša redovito i kritike blockbustera i komercijalnih filmova, ali najviše se osjećao kao doma pišući o festivalcima i naslovima izvan "mainstreama".

Sjećam se našeg posljednjeg susreta 2020. u Rijeci na prvom Riječkom filmskom festivalu u organizaciji Art-kina i njegovih planova da ode na Veneciju unatoč koroni i rigoroznim festivalskim mjerama. Za festivale i festivalske filmove Rubeša je živio svim srcem.

Posljednjih mjeseci nije bilo njegovih tekstova u "Novom listu". Nije ni sudjelovao na zajedničkoj kritičarskoj listi najboljih filmova 2021. godine za film-mag.net. Sve to je sugeriralo da nešto nije u redu, ali ne i da je ono najgore.

Međutim, današnja vijest je bila neumoljiva: nakon teške bolesti u 66. godini preminuo je Dragan Rubeša, dugogodišnji filmski kritičar "Novog lista". Smrt se dogodila svega dan nakon ovogodišnje dodjele priznanja Hrvatskog društva filmskih kritičara koje je Rubeši već dalo nagradu "Vladimir Vuković" za kritiku.

To je iznimno veliki gubitak za hrvatsku filmsku kritiku, novinarstvo i kulturu. Dragi kolega je bio jedan od naših najboljih kritičara i posljednji festivalski Mohikanac hrvatske kritike.

On je jedini kritičar koji je od početka 2000-ih redovno pohađao sva tri najveća europska festivala (Cannes, Venecija, Berlin) i pisao izvještaje o pogledanim filmovima. Ostali kritičari polako su se festivalski osipali unatrag desetak godina. Rubeša je ostao.

Po izvještajima iz Cannesa i Venecije ga je potpisnik ovog "in memoriama" najprije i zapazio, čitajući njegove festivalske reportaže u časopisu "Hollywood". Svaki tekst je odisao filmofilijom, lucidnošću i filmskom erudicijom. U Veneciji smo se i upoznali 2005. te nastavili sretati u Cannesu i razmijenjivati dojmove u kratkim pauzama između projekcija i pisanja.

Pogledati što više filmova Rubeši je bio najveći prioritet, po mogućnosti nehollywoodskih, egzotičnih, rubnih, radikalnih, subverzivnih, a onda o viđenom izvijestiti čitatelje i buduće gledatelje. Za takva ostvarenja, koja je otkrivao i na manjim festivalima poput onog istočnoazijskog filma u Udinama ili Locarna, Rubeša je bio kritičarski specijalist, zasigurno i najveći u Hrvatskoj.

Zato, nije čudno da se njegova "best of" knjiga tekstova, nažalost jedina, zove baš "Govor tijela: zapisi o neholivudskom filmu" ("od kineskog gay-filma, francuskog filmskog etna, art-pornića, katalonskih 'movida', te o autorima s ruba filmske industrije, kultnim redateljima, neobičnim motivima...").

Također, nije čudno ni da je kao programski savjetnik radio baš za Subversive FF od svih hrvatskih festivala i bio bliski suradnik riječkog Art kina "Croatia". Pisao je Rubeša redovito i kritike blockbustera i komercijalnih filmova, ali najviše se osjećao kao doma pišući o festivalcima i naslovima izvan "mainstreama".

Sjećam se našeg posljednjeg susreta 2020. u Rijeci na prvom Riječkom filmskom festivalu u organizaciji Art-kina i njegovih planova da ode na Veneciju unatoč koroni i rigoroznim festivalskim mjerama. Za festivale i festivalske filmove Rubeša je živio svim srcem.

Za festivale i festivalske filmove živio je svim srcem: odlazak Dragana Rubeše veliki je gubitak za hrvatsku filmsku kritiku, novinarstvo i kulturu

Posljednjih mjeseci nije bilo njegovih tekstova u "Novom listu". Nije ni sudjelovao na zajedničkoj kritičarskoj listi najboljih filmova 2021. godine za film-mag.net. Sve to je sugeriralo da nešto nije u redu, ali ne i da je ono najgore.

Međutim, današnja vijest je bila neumoljiva: nakon teške bolesti u 66. godini preminuo je Dragan Rubeša, dugogodišnji filmski kritičar "Novog lista". Smrt se dogodila svega dan nakon ovogodišnje dodjele priznanja Hrvatskog društva filmskih kritičara koje je Rubeši već dalo nagradu "Vladimir Vuković" za kritiku.

To je iznimno veliki gubitak za hrvatsku filmsku kritiku, novinarstvo i kulturu. Dragi kolega je bio jedan od naših najboljih kritičara i posljednji festivalski Mohikanac hrvatske kritike.
