Treba nam i ovako kvalitetnih serija u moru štanceraja. “Tokyo Vice” bi lako mogao završiti na samom vrhu serijske “best of” liste godine... Izvadak je to iz recenzije serije “Poroci Tokija”, napisane i objavljene sredinom travnja 2022. godine. Tako je i bilo: “Tokyo” Vice” našao se na top-ten listi najboljih serija 2022. “Slobodne Dalmacije”. Drugi mediji uglavnom nisu “Poroke Tokija” stavljali na “best of” liste, ali serija je zabilježila dobre kritike, a i publika joj je bila sklona.

HBO Max nije puno čekao za najavu druge sezone. Dvije godine kasnije, druga sezona doživjela je premijeru, pomalo i naglo s obzirom na to da se “Tokyo Vice 2” nije nalazio u serijskim najavama 2024., tako da su se fanovi pribojavali da će biti odgođen za 2025., kao jedna u nizu prolongiranih serija zahvaljujući štrajku hollywoodskih glumaca i scenarista protiv uporabe umjetne inteligencije na velikom i malom ekranu.

Kao i u slučaju prve sezone, “Poroci Miamija 2” ne djeluju kao da ih je napisao AI, što se može reći za mnoge moderne serije. Naprotiv, kreator serije jest J. T. Rogers, cijenjeni dramatičar nagrađen Tonyjem.

Rogers je serijski prilagodio istinitu priču, odnosno memoare “Tokyo Vice: An American Reporter On The Police Beat In Japan” iz pera američkog istražiteljskog novinara Jakea Adelsteina (glumi ga opet Ansel Elgort), prvog Amerikanca koji je radio za neke japanske novine, konkretno “Yomiuri Shimbun”, u seriji pretvorene u vodeći tokijski dnevni list “The Meicho Shimbun”.

A iako nijednu epizodu druge sezone nije režirao velikan Michael Mann (“Posljednji Mohikanac”), kao izvrsni pilot prve, s obzirom na to da je bio zauzet režijom “Ferrarija”, ostao je uključen u projekt kao izvršni producent.

Mannov rukopis još uvijek je vidljiv u “Porocima Tokija 2”, koji vizualno podsjećaju na neonski noir “Lopova”, “Vrućine” i “Collaterala”, a sama je serija, ponovimo, najbliža “Probuđenoj savjesti” kao dramski kriminalistički triler ili krimi-trilerska drama. “Tokyo Vice” i dalje uzima velike bodove vizualnom atmosferom Tokija na tragu “Izgubljenih u prijevodu” i “Crne kiše”, koji s guštom nanovo posjećujemo.

Korumpirani milje

Priča nastavlja pratiti Jakea tijekom njegova daljnjeg silaska u tokijsko podzemlje napučeno yakuzama (rivalni klanovi Tozawa i Chihara-Kai) koji su opisani kao “bešćutni muškarci”. Oslikana leđa yakuza krase uvodnu špicu serije, podsjećajući na slične vizualne motive iz uvoda akcijskog filma “Obračun u Malom Tokiju”.

Jake ni u drugoj sezoni nije toliko zanimljiv i karizmatičan lik, ali zato su tu drugi intrigantni(ji) karakteri, poput njegova mentora Hirota (vječno odlični Ken Watanabe), šefice Emi (upečatljiva Rinko Kikuchi), prijatelja Trendyja (solidni Takaki Uda), hostese Samanthe (dojmljiva Rachel Keller) ili mladog yakuze Satoa (kradljivac scena, ako ne i cijele serije Shô Kasamatsu).

Na kraju prve sezone nasmrt je prebijena Samanthina prijateljica, hostesa Polina (Ella Rumpf), a njezino ubojstvo pokreće priču druge i odvodi Jakea dalje u korumpirani politički i gangsterski milje Tokija.

“Poroci Tokija 2” mogli bi biti fokusirani i samo na yakuze da budu interesantni kao serija o organiziranom kriminalu, ali balans između njih i ostalih likova je pogođeno ravnomjeran. Tokio se nanovo promeće u zaseban lik serije i neodoljivo je privlačan noću zahvaljujući zavodljivim neonskim svjetlima, neovisno o tome koliko je opasan.

Noćne scene crpe inspiraciju iz Mannovih filmova, uvlače gledatelja u priču i daju joj dodatni trilerski puls. Povijest bi se mogla ponoviti i nije isključeno i da “Tokyo Vice 2” također završi na top-ten listi serija godine.

Treba nam i ovako kvalitetnih serija u moru štanceraja. “Tokyo Vice” bi lako mogao završiti na samom vrhu serijske “best of” liste godine... Izvadak je to iz recenzije serije “Poroci Tokija”, napisane i objavljene sredinom travnja 2022. godine. Tako je i bilo: “Tokyo” Vice” našao se na top-ten listi najboljih serija 2022. “Slobodne Dalmacije”. Drugi mediji uglavnom nisu “Poroke Tokija” stavljali na “best of” liste, ali serija je zabilježila dobre kritike, a i publika joj je bila sklona.

HBO Max nije puno čekao za najavu druge sezone. Dvije godine kasnije, druga sezona doživjela je premijeru, pomalo i naglo s obzirom na to da se “Tokyo Vice 2” nije nalazio u serijskim najavama 2024., tako da su se fanovi pribojavali da će biti odgođen za 2025., kao jedna u nizu prolongiranih serija zahvaljujući štrajku hollywoodskih glumaca i scenarista protiv uporabe umjetne inteligencije na velikom i malom ekranu.

Kao i u slučaju prve sezone, “Poroci Miamija 2” ne djeluju kao da ih je napisao AI, što se može reći za mnoge moderne serije. Naprotiv, kreator serije jest J. T. Rogers, cijenjeni dramatičar nagrađen Tonyjem.

Rogers je serijski prilagodio istinitu priču, odnosno memoare “Tokyo Vice: An American Reporter On The Police Beat In Japan” iz pera američkog istražiteljskog novinara Jakea Adelsteina (glumi ga opet Ansel Elgort), prvog Amerikanca koji je radio za neke japanske novine, konkretno “Yomiuri Shimbun”, u seriji pretvorene u vodeći tokijski dnevni list “The Meicho Shimbun”.

A iako nijednu epizodu druge sezone nije režirao velikan Michael Mann (“Posljednji Mohikanac”), kao izvrsni pilot prve, s obzirom na to da je bio zauzet režijom “Ferrarija”, ostao je uključen u projekt kao izvršni producent.

Mannov rukopis još uvijek je vidljiv u “Porocima Tokija 2”, koji vizualno podsjećaju na neonski noir “Lopova”, “Vrućine” i “Collaterala”, a sama je serija, ponovimo, najbliža “Probuđenoj savjesti” kao dramski kriminalistički triler ili krimi-trilerska drama. “Tokyo Vice” i dalje uzima velike bodove vizualnom atmosferom Tokija na tragu “Izgubljenih u prijevodu” i “Crne kiše”, koji s guštom nanovo posjećujemo.

Korumpirani milje

Priča nastavlja pratiti Jakea tijekom njegova daljnjeg silaska u tokijsko podzemlje napučeno yakuzama (rivalni klanovi Tozawa i Chihara-Kai) koji su opisani kao “bešćutni muškarci”. Oslikana leđa yakuza krase uvodnu špicu serije, podsjećajući na slične vizualne motive iz uvoda akcijskog filma “Obračun u Malom Tokiju”.

Jake ni u drugoj sezoni nije toliko zanimljiv i karizmatičan lik, ali zato su tu drugi intrigantni(ji) karakteri, poput njegova mentora Hirota (vječno odlični Ken Watanabe), šefice Emi (upečatljiva Rinko Kikuchi), prijatelja Trendyja (solidni Takaki Uda), hostese Samanthe (dojmljiva Rachel Keller) ili mladog yakuze Satoa (kradljivac scena, ako ne i cijele serije Shô Kasamatsu).

Na kraju prve sezone nasmrt je prebijena Samanthina prijateljica, hostesa Polina (Ella Rumpf), a njezino ubojstvo pokreće priču druge i odvodi Jakea dalje u korumpirani politički i gangsterski milje Tokija.

“Poroci Tokija 2” mogli bi biti fokusirani i samo na yakuze da budu interesantni kao serija o organiziranom kriminalu, ali balans između njih i ostalih likova je pogođeno ravnomjeran. Tokio se nanovo promeće u zaseban lik serije i neodoljivo je privlačan noću zahvaljujući zavodljivim neonskim svjetlima, neovisno o tome koliko je opasan.

Noćne scene crpe inspiraciju iz Mannovih filmova, uvlače gledatelja u priču i daju joj dodatni trilerski puls. Povijest bi se mogla ponoviti i nije isključeno i da “Tokyo Vice 2” također završi na top-ten listi serija godine.
