Toliko nasumičnih duhova i čarolija leti unaokolo da ni ja ne mogu sve pratiti – notira lik u tumačenju Laurencea Fishburnea u Netflixovu filmu “Škola dobra i zla” (“The School For Good and Evil”). Izjava Fishburneova lika, tzv. Učitelja škole, može se dvojako pročitati. Svijet streaming servisa nalazi se posljednjih godina pod opsadom fantazijskih filmova i serija među kojima se, u franšiznom smislu, grčevito traži novi “Harry Potter”, “Gospodar prstenova” ili barem “Hobit”, odnosno nova “Igra prijestolja”.

Od filmova spomenimo samo “Kronike iz Narnije”, “Percyja Jacksona”, “Kronike Spiderwick”, “Čarobnjakova učenika”, “Sedmog sina”, “U šumi”, “Gospodaricu zla”, “Dom gospođice Peregrine za čudnovatu djecu”... Od serija, pak, “His Dark Materials”, “Carnival Row”, “The Witcher”, “Shadow and Bone”, “The Irregulars”, “Warrior Nun”, “Cursed”...

U potrazi za novim “LOTR-om” i “GOT-om” ove godine su se snimili serijski “Lord Of The Rings” i “House Of Dragon”, a novi “Harry Potter” želi postati ekranizacija bestselerskog serijala Somana Chainanija.

I tu se vraćamo na Učitelja škole. “Škola dobra i zla” je prekrcan film: toliko duhova i čarolija drugih “fantasy” spektakala leti unaokolo u njegovim kadrovima da je to teško upratiti. Praktički svaka od navedenih fantazija opstoji u većoj ili manjoj mjeri u “The School For Good and Evil”, najviše “Potter”, a film se pokušava šlepati i na druge uspješnice poput “Romea i Julije” i “Bridgertona” (zabranjene i ine romanse), djelujući kao da ga je sklepala umjetna inteligencija na “mashup” temu “za svakog ponešto”.

Početak nije loš u (anti)bajkovitom smislu, nakon uvodne scene duela svjetlećim mačevima a la “Ratovi zvijezda” u kojem sudjeluju braća blizanci, osnivači dviju suprostavljenih škola, stvorenih za treniranje junaka bajki (sretnici) i negativca (nesretnici).

”Jednom davno živjela je djevojka Sophie kojoj je bilo suđeno da promijeni svijet”, slušamo naraciju Cate Blanchett i gledamo tu djevojku kako kroči u staklenim cipelicama Pepeljuge. Ispostavlja se da je to plavokosa Sophie (Sophia Anne Caruso) samo sanjala. Ubrzo nam se predstavlja i tamnoputa djevojka po imenu Agatha (Sofia Wylie) koja “ima sve da postane prava vještica”.

Sophie i Agatha su najbolje prijateljice, jedna odjevena u bijelo, druga u crno, a njihovo prijateljstvo s komplikacijama zasigurno je privuklo režiji Paula Feiga (“Špijunka”, “Last Christmas”) kao nekoga koga zanima taj motiv (“Djeveruše”, “Specijalne agentice”, “Slatka mala tajna”, “Istjerivačice duhova”).

Jednog dana neko krilato biće ščepa prijateljice i odnese ih u Školu dobra i zla, svijetlu i tamnu verziju Hogwartsa. Suprotno očekivanjima, ptičurina ispušta Agathu u školu dobra, a Sophie u školu zla, gdje bi naše Harriete Potter mogle spoznati svoju pravu prirodu umjesto one kakvu im je nametnulo predrasudno društvo.

Zgodna postavka jedva daje “Školi dobra i zla” trun vlastitog “ja”, kao i to da “maturanti proživljavaju stvarne događaje koji mijenjaju svijet, a koji postaju priče koje mijenjaju svijet”, drugim riječima Snjeguljica i Pepeljuga su bile stvarne, a neki učenici su potomci kralja Arthura, princa Šarmantnog, kapetana Kuke...

Nažalost, sve se to gubi i nestaje u očajničkom forsiranju franšizacije, posvemašnjoj generičnosti produkcije i pretjeranoj digitaliji bez miligrama magije i mašte u repliciranju “potterovskog” čarobnjaštva, kao što su se izgubile i Charlize Theron, Kerry Washington i Michelle Yeoh u sporednim ulogama. Kraj filma s nizom završetaka je, naravno, tek početak, tj. uvod za nastavke, ali avaj. “The School For Good and Evil” teško da će doživjeti “happy end”.

Toliko nasumičnih duhova i čarolija leti unaokolo da ni ja ne mogu sve pratiti – notira lik u tumačenju Laurencea Fishburnea u Netflixovu filmu “Škola dobra i zla” (“The School For Good and Evil”). Izjava Fishburneova lika, tzv. Učitelja škole, može se dvojako pročitati. Svijet streaming servisa nalazi se posljednjih godina pod opsadom fantazijskih filmova i serija među kojima se, u franšiznom smislu, grčevito traži novi “Harry Potter”, “Gospodar prstenova” ili barem “Hobit”, odnosno nova “Igra prijestolja”.

Od filmova spomenimo samo “Kronike iz Narnije”, “Percyja Jacksona”, “Kronike Spiderwick”, “Čarobnjakova učenika”, “Sedmog sina”, “U šumi”, “Gospodaricu zla”, “Dom gospođice Peregrine za čudnovatu djecu”... Od serija, pak, “His Dark Materials”, “Carnival Row”, “The Witcher”, “Shadow and Bone”, “The Irregulars”, “Warrior Nun”, “Cursed”...

U potrazi za novim “LOTR-om” i “GOT-om” ove godine su se snimili serijski “Lord Of The Rings” i “House Of Dragon”, a novi “Harry Potter” želi postati ekranizacija bestselerskog serijala Somana Chainanija.

I tu se vraćamo na Učitelja škole. “Škola dobra i zla” je prekrcan film: toliko duhova i čarolija drugih “fantasy” spektakala leti unaokolo u njegovim kadrovima da je to teško upratiti. Praktički svaka od navedenih fantazija opstoji u većoj ili manjoj mjeri u “The School For Good and Evil”, najviše “Potter”, a film se pokušava šlepati i na druge uspješnice poput “Romea i Julije” i “Bridgertona” (zabranjene i ine romanse), djelujući kao da ga je sklepala umjetna inteligencija na “mashup” temu “za svakog ponešto”.

Početak nije loš u (anti)bajkovitom smislu, nakon uvodne scene duela svjetlećim mačevima a la “Ratovi zvijezda” u kojem sudjeluju braća blizanci, osnivači dviju suprostavljenih škola, stvorenih za treniranje junaka bajki (sretnici) i negativca (nesretnici).

”Jednom davno živjela je djevojka Sophie kojoj je bilo suđeno da promijeni svijet”, slušamo naraciju Cate Blanchett i gledamo tu djevojku kako kroči u staklenim cipelicama Pepeljuge. Ispostavlja se da je to plavokosa Sophie (Sophia Anne Caruso) samo sanjala. Ubrzo nam se predstavlja i tamnoputa djevojka po imenu Agatha (Sofia Wylie) koja “ima sve da postane prava vještica”.

Sophie i Agatha su najbolje prijateljice, jedna odjevena u bijelo, druga u crno, a njihovo prijateljstvo s komplikacijama zasigurno je privuklo režiji Paula Feiga (“Špijunka”, “Last Christmas”) kao nekoga koga zanima taj motiv (“Djeveruše”, “Specijalne agentice”, “Slatka mala tajna”, “Istjerivačice duhova”).

Jednog dana neko krilato biće ščepa prijateljice i odnese ih u Školu dobra i zla, svijetlu i tamnu verziju Hogwartsa. Suprotno očekivanjima, ptičurina ispušta Agathu u školu dobra, a Sophie u školu zla, gdje bi naše Harriete Potter mogle spoznati svoju pravu prirodu umjesto one kakvu im je nametnulo predrasudno društvo.

Zgodna postavka jedva daje “Školi dobra i zla” trun vlastitog “ja”, kao i to da “maturanti proživljavaju stvarne događaje koji mijenjaju svijet, a koji postaju priče koje mijenjaju svijet”, drugim riječima Snjeguljica i Pepeljuga su bile stvarne, a neki učenici su potomci kralja Arthura, princa Šarmantnog, kapetana Kuke...

Nažalost, sve se to gubi i nestaje u očajničkom forsiranju franšizacije, posvemašnjoj generičnosti produkcije i pretjeranoj digitaliji bez miligrama magije i mašte u repliciranju “potterovskog” čarobnjaštva, kao što su se izgubile i Charlize Theron, Kerry Washington i Michelle Yeoh u sporednim ulogama. Kraj filma s nizom završetaka je, naravno, tek početak, tj. uvod za nastavke, ali avaj. “The School For Good and Evil” teško da će doživjeti “happy end”.
