Školska godina u malom ruskom gradu Beslanu počela je tragično u ovo doba 2004. godine, kad je skupina naoružanih terorista upala u tamošnju školu i izazvala talačku krizu, koja će ući u povijest kao jedan od najgorih terorističkih napada otkako je Rusije.

Talačka kriza u Beslanu naizgled je poslužila kao inspiracija Adilkhanu Yerzhanovu za film “Napad” (“Штурм”/”Assault”), koji je doživio hrvatsku premijeru na STFF-u nakon premijerne projekcije u konkurenciji ovogodišnjeg festivala u Rotterdamu.

Kazahstanski redatelj je iznimno produktivan i ovo mu je drugi od tri filmska projekta u manje od godinu dana: "Herd Immunity" imao je premijeru u prosincu 2021. na Tallinn Film Festivalu, a "Goliath" se upravo prikazuje na venecijanskoj Mostri.

Nešto približno tako u posljednje vrijeme je uspjelo samo Ryusukeu Hamaguchiju ("Drive My Car", "Wheel Of Fortune and Fantasy"). Yerzhanov nije toliko poznat hrvatskoj publici, stoga je bilo krajnje vrijeme da domaći filmofili upoznaju Kazahstančev nerv za crni humor i apsurd te osjećaj za provokativnu društveno-političku satiru.

Ne smijemo zaboraviti ni kreiranje vlastita svemira na način da se svaki redateljev film odvija u fiktivnom kazahstanskom selu Karatasu, što je možda njegov festivalski odgovor na imaginarnu državicu Val Verde iz žanrovskih klasika osamdesetih i devedesetih (“Komandos”, “Predator”, “Umri muški 2”), ako ne i povezane novomilenijske blockbusterske univerzume Marvela i DC-ja.

Karatas zvuči kao karate, pa je valjda zato kucnuo čas za Yerzhanova da jedan učitelj pri početku “Napada” (Berik Aitzhanov) počne lamatati nunčakama ispred učenika glumeći da je Bruce Lee. Karate/kung-fu (ne)sposobnosti učitelja naštimavaju sliku i ton filma koji funkcionira i kao parodija akcijskih trilera na “Die Hard” temu talačke situacije.

Imali smo verzije "Umri muški" na bojnim broodovima ("Pod opsadom"), u avionima ("Putnik 57", "Air Force One"), hokejaškim arenama ("Iznenadna smrt"), vlakovima ("Pod opsadom 2"), čak i u školama ("Toy Soldiers"), ali svaki od tih filmova bio je akcijsko-herojski ozbiljan, neovisno o blagim intruzijama ironije njihovih junaka. “Assault” nije, a nema ni pravog akcijskog junaka koji će u startu naslutiti što se događa.

Kad teroristi s jezivim hororskim maskama na licima banu u školu bogu iza nogu, odsječenu od svijeta poput internata u “Bratovu čuvaru”, njih nitko ne primjećuje i oni prolaze mirno dok učitelj glazbenog (Nurlan Batyrov) kori domara (Nurbek Mukushev) zbog cijevi nasred hodnika.

Učitelj matematike (Azamat Nigmanov), pak, reagira kao kukavica, nakon što čuje pucnje i udalji se iz škole, unatoč tome što je ostavio učenike u zaključanom razredu, uključujući i svoga sina (Timur Muratov), zbog supruge (Aleksandra Revenko) koja je došla tražiti skrbništvo nad njim.

Njegova reakcija je ekvivalentna bijegu oca pred lavinom u “Turistu” Rubena Östlunda, kad je dao petama vjetra i ostavio ženu i djecu. Östlundova satira na račun muškosti jedan je od uzora za “Napad”, a s obzirom na crnim humorom prožetu postavku talačke krize u školi, možda je Yerzhanov gledao i hrvatsku “Dopunsku nastavu” Ivana Gorana Viteza, premda u njegovu filmu učitelji i roditelji djece pokušavaju preuzeti stvar u svoje ruke i spasiti učenike u očekivanju kazahstanskih specijalaca, kojima trebaju dani da stignu zbog vremenskih uvjeta.

Jednom kad se to dogodi i učitelji/roditelji počnu trenirati za (protu)napad na kazahstanskom snijegu, oni izgledaju kao ekipa iz “Jahača pravde” Andersa Thomasa Jensena, pri čemu nitko od njih nije akcijaš kao lik Madsa Mikkelsena. Spoj istinite priče i Yerzhanovih uzora nije uvijek ravnomjeran, ali film ima upečatljivu završnicu i mračni satirični humor je njegov najjači adut. Humorno crnilo tako dobro pristaje snježnobijelim krajobrazima.

Školska godina u malom ruskom gradu Beslanu počela je tragično u ovo doba 2004. godine, kad je skupina naoružanih terorista upala u tamošnju školu i izazvala talačku krizu, koja će ući u povijest kao jedan od najgorih terorističkih napada otkako je Rusije.

Talačka kriza u Beslanu naizgled je poslužila kao inspiracija Adilkhanu Yerzhanovu za film “Napad” (“Штурм”/”Assault”), koji je doživio hrvatsku premijeru na STFF-u nakon premijerne projekcije u konkurenciji ovogodišnjeg festivala u Rotterdamu.

Kazahstanski redatelj je iznimno produktivan i ovo mu je drugi od tri filmska projekta u manje od godinu dana: "Herd Immunity" imao je premijeru u prosincu 2021. na Tallinn Film Festivalu, a "Goliath" se upravo prikazuje na venecijanskoj Mostri.

Nešto približno tako u posljednje vrijeme je uspjelo samo Ryusukeu Hamaguchiju ("Drive My Car", "Wheel Of Fortune and Fantasy"). Yerzhanov nije toliko poznat hrvatskoj publici, stoga je bilo krajnje vrijeme da domaći filmofili upoznaju Kazahstančev nerv za crni humor i apsurd te osjećaj za provokativnu društveno-političku satiru.

Ne smijemo zaboraviti ni kreiranje vlastita svemira na način da se svaki redateljev film odvija u fiktivnom kazahstanskom selu Karatasu, što je možda njegov festivalski odgovor na imaginarnu državicu Val Verde iz žanrovskih klasika osamdesetih i devedesetih (“Komandos”, “Predator”, “Umri muški 2”), ako ne i povezane novomilenijske blockbusterske univerzume Marvela i DC-ja.

Karatas zvuči kao karate, pa je valjda zato kucnuo čas za Yerzhanova da jedan učitelj pri početku “Napada” (Berik Aitzhanov) počne lamatati nunčakama ispred učenika glumeći da je Bruce Lee. Karate/kung-fu (ne)sposobnosti učitelja naštimavaju sliku i ton filma koji funkcionira i kao parodija akcijskih trilera na “Die Hard” temu talačke situacije.

Imali smo verzije "Umri muški" na bojnim broodovima ("Pod opsadom"), u avionima ("Putnik 57", "Air Force One"), hokejaškim arenama ("Iznenadna smrt"), vlakovima ("Pod opsadom 2"), čak i u školama ("Toy Soldiers"), ali svaki od tih filmova bio je akcijsko-herojski ozbiljan, neovisno o blagim intruzijama ironije njihovih junaka. “Assault” nije, a nema ni pravog akcijskog junaka koji će u startu naslutiti što se događa.

Kad teroristi s jezivim hororskim maskama na licima banu u školu bogu iza nogu, odsječenu od svijeta poput internata u “Bratovu čuvaru”, njih nitko ne primjećuje i oni prolaze mirno dok učitelj glazbenog (Nurlan Batyrov) kori domara (Nurbek Mukushev) zbog cijevi nasred hodnika.

Učitelj matematike (Azamat Nigmanov), pak, reagira kao kukavica, nakon što čuje pucnje i udalji se iz škole, unatoč tome što je ostavio učenike u zaključanom razredu, uključujući i svoga sina (Timur Muratov), zbog supruge (Aleksandra Revenko) koja je došla tražiti skrbništvo nad njim.

Njegova reakcija je ekvivalentna bijegu oca pred lavinom u “Turistu” Rubena Östlunda, kad je dao petama vjetra i ostavio ženu i djecu. Östlundova satira na račun muškosti jedan je od uzora za “Napad”, a s obzirom na crnim humorom prožetu postavku talačke krize u školi, možda je Yerzhanov gledao i hrvatsku “Dopunsku nastavu” Ivana Gorana Viteza, premda u njegovu filmu učitelji i roditelji djece pokušavaju preuzeti stvar u svoje ruke i spasiti učenike u očekivanju kazahstanskih specijalaca, kojima trebaju dani da stignu zbog vremenskih uvjeta.

Jednom kad se to dogodi i učitelji/roditelji počnu trenirati za (protu)napad na kazahstanskom snijegu, oni izgledaju kao ekipa iz “Jahača pravde” Andersa Thomasa Jensena, pri čemu nitko od njih nije akcijaš kao lik Madsa Mikkelsena. Spoj istinite priče i Yerzhanovih uzora nije uvijek ravnomjeran, ali film ima upečatljivu završnicu i mračni satirični humor je njegov najjači adut. Humorno crnilo tako dobro pristaje snježnobijelim krajobrazima.

Kazahstanski redatelj može se pohvaliti statistikom da je do 38. godine snimio 11 filmova i primio najmanje toliko nagrada na raznim festivalima.
