Rane dvije tisuće i dvadesete ponavljaju obrazac kasnih devedesetih. Tada je bilo jako “in” snimati tarantinovske filmove na valu “Pasa iz rezervoara”, “Prave romanse”, “Paklenog šunda” i “Jackie Brown”, mahom crveno-i-crnohumorne krimi komedije prepune osebujnih likova i sočnih dijaloških provala koje se lijepe za uho.

U to doba bilo je svega i svačega po kinima ili videotekama, loših kopija, ali i filmova kakve bi i sam Quentin Tarantino volio imati u filmografiji (“Čekajući smrt u Denveru”, “Daleko od očiju”, “Teška osmica”, “Lopovi, ubojice i dvije nabijene puške”).

Sada se taj trend vraća i posljednjih nekoliko godina filmaši se još uvijek lože na Tarantina devedesetih. Od 2019., godine kad je Tarantino snimio “Bilo jednom u... Hollywoodu”, u hrvatskim “online” videotekama pojavili su se tarantinovski komični krimići tipa “Ubojica na poziv”, “Arkansas”, “Američka noć”, “Južno od raja”, “Umri u obračunu” i “Pucaj i bježi”.

Trend nastavlja i “Mjesto zločina” (“The Kill Room”), s time da se ovaj film prikazuje u kinima. “Mjesto zločina” dobilo je velikoekranski tretman zasigurno zbog zvjezdanih glumačkih imena, ali i njihove povezanosti s Tarantinom. Među prethodnim filmovima samo je prvospomenuti, izvorno naslovljen “Lucky Day”, imao jednu poveznicu s Tarantinom preko redatelja Rogera Avaryja, inače koscenarista “Paklenog šunda”. “The Kill Room” ima dvije – Umu Thurman i Samuela L. Jacksona.

Thurman i posebice Jackson spadaju među Tarantinove omiljene, kućne glumce. Uma je glumila u “Pulp Fictionu” i “Kill Billu 1&2”, kao i Samuel koji se, usto, pojavio i u “True Romance”, “Jackie Brown”, “Odbjeglom Djangu” i “Mrskoj osmorki”, te je bio narator “Nemilosrdnih gadova”. Oboje su za “Pakleni šund” dobili oskarovsku nominaciju u kategoriji sporedne uloge.

Zanimljivo je da Thurman i Jackson u tom filmu nisu podijelili scenu, ali nakratko jesu poneki kadar u c/b sceni vjenčanja u “Kill Billu 2”, što je bilo dovoljno da redateljica Nicol Paone (“Friendsgiving”, kod nas preveden kao “Klopa, cuga i luđaci”) zamisli kako bi izgledala tarantinovska krimi komedija s njima u glavnim ulogama.

Et voila: Jackson u “Mjestu zločina” glumi Gordona, perača novca pod krinkom pekara koji predlaže vlasnici manhattanske galerije Patrice (Thurman) da udruže snage u shemi pranja love zajedno s njegovim plaćenim ubojicom Reggiejem (Joe Manganiello), specijaliziranim za gušenje žrtava plastičnim vrećicama, koji će za nju kreirati umjetnička djela pod pseudonimom “The Bagman”.

Problemi nastaju kad The Bagman postane senzacija u umjetničkim krugovima i snobovi požele kupiti njegova remek-djela, što zasmeta mafiji. Da se “The Kill Room” fura na kasne devedesete, jasno je i po uvodnoj sceni s vrećicom a la “Vrtlog života”. Uvodna scena uspostavlja i dijaloške replike po uzoru na Tarantina.

Reggie ulazi u kafić, žali se da je kava koju je uzeo za van “sranje” i želi novac natrag. “Maloprije sam bio ovdje”, govori Reggie. “Nisi maloprije bio jebeno ovdje”, tvrdi vlasnik kafića. “Hoćeš reći da nisam maloprije bio ovdje?”, ponavlja Reggie, koji će ugušiti tipa vrećicom.

Gordon, pak, usklikne “Bullshit in a China shop”, parafrazirajući izreku “Bull in a China shop”, a kasnije izjavi i “Kao da je Štrumpf s proljevom obrisao guzicu s time”. Konačno, Patrice je predstavljena kako šmrče Adderall (“pomaže mi oko tjeskobe”) i samo nedostaje da kaže “I said goddamn!” kao Mia Wallace kad je povukla crtu kokaina u “Pulp Fictionu”.

Ipak, razlika je što je Thurman u “Mjestu zločina” znade preglumljivati i Patrice nije nezaboravna kao Mia, niti je to Gordon u odnosu na Julesa Winnfielda ili ostale Jacksonove karaktere iz Tarantinove galerije sve samo ne jednodimenzionalnih likova. “The Kill Room” je jeftini(ji) Tarantino iz direktno-na-video produkcije.

Paone ne uspijeva izvući krimi-humorni maksimum iz potentne premise (“hitman” kao senzacija u art krugovima), premda je snimila superiorniji tarantinovski film u odnosu na većinu gore navedenih, naročito “American Night” sa sličnim isprepletanjem podzemnog i umjetničkog svijeta, čega se dotaknuo i Avary u “Ubojici na poziv”.

“Kriminal je oblik umjetnosti”, glasi krilatica “Mjesta zločina”, koje satirički podbada umjetnički svijet u kojem nešto groteskno, uključujući i ubojstvo uživo, može biti proglašeno remek-djelom. S Tarantinom bi ovaj film ispunio potencijal i povremeno se čini kao da ga Thurman i Jackson traže iza kamere, ali i u njegovoj se odsutnosti znaju zabavljati i uživati u međusobnom društvu. Jackson i Thurman bolji su od filma, “match made in heaven”.

Rane dvije tisuće i dvadesete ponavljaju obrazac kasnih devedesetih. Tada je bilo jako “in” snimati tarantinovske filmove na valu “Pasa iz rezervoara”, “Prave romanse”, “Paklenog šunda” i “Jackie Brown”, mahom crveno-i-crnohumorne krimi komedije prepune osebujnih likova i sočnih dijaloških provala koje se lijepe za uho.

U to doba bilo je svega i svačega po kinima ili videotekama, loših kopija, ali i filmova kakve bi i sam Quentin Tarantino volio imati u filmografiji (“Čekajući smrt u Denveru”, “Daleko od očiju”, “Teška osmica”, “Lopovi, ubojice i dvije nabijene puške”).

Sada se taj trend vraća i posljednjih nekoliko godina filmaši se još uvijek lože na Tarantina devedesetih. Od 2019., godine kad je Tarantino snimio “Bilo jednom u... Hollywoodu”, u hrvatskim “online” videotekama pojavili su se tarantinovski komični krimići tipa “Ubojica na poziv”, “Arkansas”, “Američka noć”, “Južno od raja”, “Umri u obračunu” i “Pucaj i bježi”.

Trend nastavlja i “Mjesto zločina” (“The Kill Room”), s time da se ovaj film prikazuje u kinima. “Mjesto zločina” dobilo je velikoekranski tretman zasigurno zbog zvjezdanih glumačkih imena, ali i njihove povezanosti s Tarantinom. Među prethodnim filmovima samo je prvospomenuti, izvorno naslovljen “Lucky Day”, imao jednu poveznicu s Tarantinom preko redatelja Rogera Avaryja, inače koscenarista “Paklenog šunda”. “The Kill Room” ima dvije – Umu Thurman i Samuela L. Jacksona.

Thurman i posebice Jackson spadaju među Tarantinove omiljene, kućne glumce. Uma je glumila u “Pulp Fictionu” i “Kill Billu 1&2”, kao i Samuel koji se, usto, pojavio i u “True Romance”, “Jackie Brown”, “Odbjeglom Djangu” i “Mrskoj osmorki”, te je bio narator “Nemilosrdnih gadova”. Oboje su za “Pakleni šund” dobili oskarovsku nominaciju u kategoriji sporedne uloge.

Zanimljivo je da Thurman i Jackson u tom filmu nisu podijelili scenu, ali nakratko jesu poneki kadar u c/b sceni vjenčanja u “Kill Billu 2”, što je bilo dovoljno da redateljica Nicol Paone (“Friendsgiving”, kod nas preveden kao “Klopa, cuga i luđaci”) zamisli kako bi izgledala tarantinovska krimi komedija s njima u glavnim ulogama.

Et voila: Jackson u “Mjestu zločina” glumi Gordona, perača novca pod krinkom pekara koji predlaže vlasnici manhattanske galerije Patrice (Thurman) da udruže snage u shemi pranja love zajedno s njegovim plaćenim ubojicom Reggiejem (Joe Manganiello), specijaliziranim za gušenje žrtava plastičnim vrećicama, koji će za nju kreirati umjetnička djela pod pseudonimom “The Bagman”.

Problemi nastaju kad The Bagman postane senzacija u umjetničkim krugovima i snobovi požele kupiti njegova remek-djela, što zasmeta mafiji. Da se “The Kill Room” fura na kasne devedesete, jasno je i po uvodnoj sceni s vrećicom a la “Vrtlog života”. Uvodna scena uspostavlja i dijaloške replike po uzoru na Tarantina.

Reggie ulazi u kafić, žali se da je kava koju je uzeo za van “sranje” i želi novac natrag. “Maloprije sam bio ovdje”, govori Reggie. “Nisi maloprije bio jebeno ovdje”, tvrdi vlasnik kafića. “Hoćeš reći da nisam maloprije bio ovdje?”, ponavlja Reggie, koji će ugušiti tipa vrećicom.

Gordon, pak, usklikne “Bullshit in a China shop”, parafrazirajući izreku “Bull in a China shop”, a kasnije izjavi i “Kao da je Štrumpf s proljevom obrisao guzicu s time”. Konačno, Patrice je predstavljena kako šmrče Adderall (“pomaže mi oko tjeskobe”) i samo nedostaje da kaže “I said goddamn!” kao Mia Wallace kad je povukla crtu kokaina u “Pulp Fictionu”.

Ipak, razlika je što je Thurman u “Mjestu zločina” znade preglumljivati i Patrice nije nezaboravna kao Mia, niti je to Gordon u odnosu na Julesa Winnfielda ili ostale Jacksonove karaktere iz Tarantinove galerije sve samo ne jednodimenzionalnih likova. “The Kill Room” je jeftini(ji) Tarantino iz direktno-na-video produkcije.

Paone ne uspijeva izvući krimi-humorni maksimum iz potentne premise (“hitman” kao senzacija u art krugovima), premda je snimila superiorniji tarantinovski film u odnosu na većinu gore navedenih, naročito “American Night” sa sličnim isprepletanjem podzemnog i umjetničkog svijeta, čega se dotaknuo i Avary u “Ubojici na poziv”.

“Kriminal je oblik umjetnosti”, glasi krilatica “Mjesta zločina”, koje satirički podbada umjetnički svijet u kojem nešto groteskno, uključujući i ubojstvo uživo, može biti proglašeno remek-djelom. S Tarantinom bi ovaj film ispunio potencijal i povremeno se čini kao da ga Thurman i Jackson traže iza kamere, ali i u njegovoj se odsutnosti znaju zabavljati i uživati u međusobnom društvu. Jackson i Thurman bolji su od filma, “match made in heaven”.

Paone ne uspijeva izvući krimi-humorni maksimum iz potentne premise (“hitman” kao senzacija u art krugovima), premda je snimila superiorniji tarantinovski film u odnosu na većinu gore navedenih, naročito “American Night” sa sličnim isprepletanjem podzemnog i umjetničkog svijeta, čega se dotaknuo i Avary u “Ubojici na poziv”.

“Kriminal je oblik umjetnosti”, glasi krilatica “Mjesta zločina”, koje satirički podbada umjetnički svijet u kojem nešto groteskno, uključujući i ubojstvo uživo, može biti proglašeno remek-djelom. S Tarantinom bi ovaj film ispunio potencijal i povremeno se čini kao da ga Thurman i Jackson traže iza kamere, ali i u njegovoj se odsutnosti znaju zabavljati i uživati u međusobnom društvu. Jackson i Thurman bolji su od filma, “match made in heaven”.
