Generički "direktno-na-video" akcijski trileri teško da mogu biti generičkiji od filma "Eraser: Reborn", remakea Schwarzeneggerova blockbustera "Brisač" iz ljeta 1996. koji se premijerno nacrtao u hrvatskim "online" videotekama. Iz nekog razloga remake nije preveden kao "Brisač", već "Eraser: Ponovno rođenje", ali da, to je taj film, makar bi za njega bilo bolje da nije.

Ovako, film nosi određena očekivanja i neminovno se uspoređuje s pretečom na vlastitu štetu dok bi kao drukčije naslovljeni akcijski triler sličnog zapleta barem bio oslobođen bremena zvučnog imena "Eraser".

"Brisač" je bio posljednji veliki Schwarzeneggerov kinohit u devedesetima i jedan od posljednjih klasičnih akcijskih spektakala plodne žanrovske ere. Remake ne uspijeva evocirati originalni film i tu eru u barem približnoj ravni bez junaka poput Schwarzeneggera, akcijskih scena po mjeri pravog blockbustera, "one-linerskog" humora i elektromagnetskih "pulsnih" pušaka.

Premda, ne može se reći da ne pokušava, doslovno reciklirajući/kopirajući/parafrazirajući neke akcijske scene i prizore, kao i zaplet sa svjedocima izbrisanih identiteta i odmetnutim agentima koji su se prodali, samo bez nekakvih invencija. Novi junak, "U.S. Marshall" Mason Pollard (Dominic Sherwood) iz Odjela za zaštitu svjedoka, naoružava se za akciju tijekom uvodne špice gotovo identično kao njegov prethodnik John Kruger.

Pa ipak, naoružavanje nema ni približno jednaku težinu jer Sherwood nije Schwarzenegger, već "no name" junačić bez njegove povijesti, tjelesnosti, karizme, šarma ili smisla za humor, jednako kao i McKinley Belcher III u ulozi Pollardovog korumpiranog mentora Paula Whitlocka koji bi volio biti James Caan ovog filma.

U prvoj akcijskoj sceni Pollard izgleda kao nindža i ispod crne maske može biti bilo tko, on ili netko drugi/treći, sasvim (nam) je svejedno, kao i kad svjedoku monotono kaže "Čestitam, upravo si izbrisan" prije nego izbriše stari identitet klijenta/lažira njegovu smrt, dade mu novi život i ubaci ga u "witness protection program".

Arnie je možda bio monosilabičan, ali nikad monoton u akciji i humoru. Sherwood jest, pa čak Jacky Lai (nedostojna zamjena za Vanessu Williams) kao Pollardova svjedokinja Rina Kimura manje monotono izgovara "Upravo me izbrisao jebeni Kapetan Amerika".

Takav je i film u režiji Johna Poguea ("Duboko modro more 3", remakeovski nastavak još jednog hita devedesetih "Deep Blue Sea"). Nijedna akcijska scena novog filma nije na skupocjenoj skali starog, no jeftinoća se podrazumijeva od "direktno-na-video"/DTV uratka.

Međutim, neki akcići tog tipa znaju razbiti DTV monotoniju, pokazati kreativnost unutar svedenog budžeta i ponuditi nešto svoje, prizor i kadar ako ne scenu, za razliku od ovog koji kopira i potjeru po krovovima slamova iz "Brzih i žestokih 5", a junaka odijeva na sliku i priliku Kobre iz istoimenog akcijskog kulta osamdesetih (crna majica i rukavice), iako Sherwood nije ni sjena Stallonea.

Jedini plusić tiče se privlačnih, prozračnih južnoafričkih lokacija Cape Towna, daleko od istočnoeuropskog sivila videotečnih ostvarenja, koje "Erasera" čine bar djelomično atraktivnim i korektno snimljenim filmom, napose u završnici na dokovima s kontejnerima na kojima će Pollard također visiti jednom rukom.

Puno toga je isto, samo umjesto aligatora imamo nilskog konja i nosoroga koji će u trku nabosti Whitlocka i dati Pollardu povod za blijedi pokušaj "schwarzeneggerskog" humora i parafrazu njegova "one-linera" ("Otišao se provozati" umjesto "Uhvatili su vlak"). "Eraser: Reborn" je upravo izbrisan.

Nespretni pokušaji humora

Humor se nespretno pokušao uvesti u film, na što ukazuje i scena distrakcije, prema kojoj ona u originalu izgleda kao komični klasik.

Generički "direktno-na-video" akcijski trileri teško da mogu biti generičkiji od filma "Eraser: Reborn", remakea Schwarzeneggerova blockbustera "Brisač" iz ljeta 1996. koji se premijerno nacrtao u hrvatskim "online" videotekama. Iz nekog razloga remake nije preveden kao "Brisač", već "Eraser: Ponovno rođenje", ali da, to je taj film, makar bi za njega bilo bolje da nije.

Ovako, film nosi određena očekivanja i neminovno se uspoređuje s pretečom na vlastitu štetu dok bi kao drukčije naslovljeni akcijski triler sličnog zapleta barem bio oslobođen bremena zvučnog imena "Eraser".

"Brisač" je bio posljednji veliki Schwarzeneggerov kinohit u devedesetima i jedan od posljednjih klasičnih akcijskih spektakala plodne žanrovske ere. Remake ne uspijeva evocirati originalni film i tu eru u barem približnoj ravni bez junaka poput Schwarzeneggera, akcijskih scena po mjeri pravog blockbustera, "one-linerskog" humora i elektromagnetskih "pulsnih" pušaka.

Premda, ne može se reći da ne pokušava, doslovno reciklirajući/kopirajući/parafrazirajući neke akcijske scene i prizore, kao i zaplet sa svjedocima izbrisanih identiteta i odmetnutim agentima koji su se prodali, samo bez nekakvih invencija. Novi junak, "U.S. Marshall" Mason Pollard (Dominic Sherwood) iz Odjela za zaštitu svjedoka, naoružava se za akciju tijekom uvodne špice gotovo identično kao njegov prethodnik John Kruger.

Pa ipak, naoružavanje nema ni približno jednaku težinu jer Sherwood nije Schwarzenegger, već "no name" junačić bez njegove povijesti, tjelesnosti, karizme, šarma ili smisla za humor, jednako kao i McKinley Belcher III u ulozi Pollardovog korumpiranog mentora Paula Whitlocka koji bi volio biti James Caan ovog filma.

U prvoj akcijskoj sceni Pollard izgleda kao nindža i ispod crne maske može biti bilo tko, on ili netko drugi/treći, sasvim (nam) je svejedno, kao i kad svjedoku monotono kaže "Čestitam, upravo si izbrisan" prije nego izbriše stari identitet klijenta/lažira njegovu smrt, dade mu novi život i ubaci ga u "witness protection program".

Arnie je možda bio monosilabičan, ali nikad monoton u akciji i humoru. Sherwood jest, pa čak Jacky Lai (nedostojna zamjena za Vanessu Williams) kao Pollardova svjedokinja Rina Kimura manje monotono izgovara "Upravo me izbrisao jebeni Kapetan Amerika".

Takav je i film u režiji Johna Poguea ("Duboko modro more 3", remakeovski nastavak još jednog hita devedesetih "Deep Blue Sea"). Nijedna akcijska scena novog filma nije na skupocjenoj skali starog, no jeftinoća se podrazumijeva od "direktno-na-video"/DTV uratka.

Međutim, neki akcići tog tipa znaju razbiti DTV monotoniju, pokazati kreativnost unutar svedenog budžeta i ponuditi nešto svoje, prizor i kadar ako ne scenu, za razliku od ovog koji kopira i potjeru po krovovima slamova iz "Brzih i žestokih 5", a junaka odijeva na sliku i priliku Kobre iz istoimenog akcijskog kulta osamdesetih (crna majica i rukavice), iako Sherwood nije ni sjena Stallonea.

Jedini plusić tiče se privlačnih, prozračnih južnoafričkih lokacija Cape Towna, daleko od istočnoeuropskog sivila videotečnih ostvarenja, koje "Erasera" čine bar djelomično atraktivnim i korektno snimljenim filmom, napose u završnici na dokovima s kontejnerima na kojima će Pollard također visiti jednom rukom.

Puno toga je isto, samo umjesto aligatora imamo nilskog konja i nosoroga koji će u trku nabosti Whitlocka i dati Pollardu povod za blijedi pokušaj "schwarzeneggerskog" humora i parafrazu njegova "one-linera" ("Otišao se provozati" umjesto "Uhvatili su vlak"). "Eraser: Reborn" je upravo izbrisan.

Nespretni pokušaji humora

Humor se nespretno pokušao uvesti u film, na što ukazuje i scena distrakcije, prema kojoj ona u originalu izgleda kao komični klasik.
