Argentina se između 1975. i 2023. godine osam puta našla u utrci za Oscara u kategoriji najboljeg stranog (ili, po novome, međunarodnog) filma. Od tih osam puta, Argentina je zasad zabilježila dvije pobjede u snažnoj konkurenciji. Prva pobjeda dogodila se 1986. i tad je trijumfirala “Službena verzija” Luisa Puenza u odnosu na filmove kao što su “Pukovnik Redl” Istvána Szaba i “Otac na službenom putu” Emira Kusturice.

Uzgred, bio je to i prvi latinoamerički film nagrađen Oscarom. Druga pobjeda datira iz 2010., kad je “Tajna u njihovim očima” Juana Joséa Campanelle odnijela Oscara ispred Hanekeove ”Bijele vrpce” i “Proroka” Jean-Jacquesa Audiarda. Mnogi su očekivali da će treći zlatni kipić Argentini 2015. donijeti “Divlje priče”, također u jakoj konkurenciji (“Levijatan”, “Timbuktu”), ali pobijedila je “Ida”.

Neki očekuju da bi više sreće mogla imati ovogodišnja “Argentina, 1985.” (“Argentina, 1985”) Santiaga Mitrea, koja se, zanimljivo, odvija iste godine kad je snimljen prvi argentinski oskarovac “The Official Story”, a dijele i sličnu temu, odnosno dotiču se vojne diktature i takozvanog Prljavog rata od 1976. do 1983. godine, kršenja ljudskih prava i zločina protiv čovječnosti.

Dok se “Službena verzija” fokusirala na roditelje nezakonito posvojenog djeteta koje bi moglo biti plod jedne od žrtava vojne hunte, nestalih i utamničenih Argentinaca, “Argentina, 1985.” preuzima štafetu i bavi se povijesnim suđenjem akterima diktature. Politička drama snimljena prema istinitoj priči ima snažnu temu i već je osvojila Zlatni globus u kategoriji međunarodnog filma, stoga se nameće kao najveći takmac njemačkom antiratnom favoritu “Na zapadu ništa novo”.

Istina, “All Quiet On The Western Front” rezonira snažnije u jeku invazije na Ukrajinu, ali ni “Argentina, 1985” nije zanemariva s pričom o kažnjavanju vojne diktature koja je naciju podvrgnula neopisivim užasima i uopće sizifovskoj potrazi za pravdom u često nepravednom svijetu. Film u uvodu podsjeća na zbivanja iz ne tako davne povijesti Argentine. Gledatelja se podsjeća da je u prosincu 1983. Argentina povratila demokraciju nakon sedmogodišnje vojne diktature.

Predsjednik Raúl Ricardo Alfonsin naredio je da se bivše zapovjednike izvede pred sud za zločine protiv čovječnosti. Zapovjednici samo prihvaćaju da budu saslušani od strane Vojnog suda. Nekoliko mjeseci otkako je nova vlada preuzela ured suđenje se nije pomaknulo naprijed, ali šire se glasine da bi suđenje preuzeo Građanski sud. Ako se to dogodi, Prizivni sud bi trebao preuzeti suđenje, a odgovornost za tužbu pala bi na glavnog tužitelja Julija Strasseru, što se će se i dogoditi.

“Ne želim biti moron koji mora obraniti nešto u što vlada ne vjeruje”, govori Strassera u tumačenju vodećeg argentinskog glumca Ricarda Darina (glumio i u zadnja dva oskarovska nominenta). “Zar živimo u zemlji čudesa? Odjednom će svi diktatori u zatvor?” pita se Strassera i strahuje da je posrijedi “zamka”, tj. da ga “koriste za neku vrstu pregovora”.

“Povijest nisu pisali ljudi poput mene”, smatra Strassera, ali će je ipak ispisati kao tužitelj na “najvažnijem suđenju u povijesti Argentine”, postati nacionalni heroj i u završnoj riječi reći “Nunca mas”, ili “Nikad više”. Teško breme je ponio Strassera na svojim leđima i zadatak je opasan po život s obzirom na utjecaj bivših zapovjednika u policiji koja je bila uključena u zbivanja.

Redatelj i koscenarist Mitre pokušava olakšati tešku dramu uplivima (ciničnog) humora, da film ne bude smrtno ozbiljan, pa tako izokreće elemente trilera paranoje i nadzora kad Strassera u prvoj sceni špijunira vlastitu tinejdžersku kćer Veronicu (Gina Mastronicola) uz pomoć mlađeg sina Javiera (Santiago Armas Estevarena) zato što je počela izlaziti s momkom naizgled sumnjivog vojnog podrijetla. Ipak, u toj sceni se odražava Strasserin i Mitrein stav prema prijašnjem režimu, a redatelj odabire lakonotni ritam za pričanje teške priče kako bi film lakše “klizio” i bio prijemčljiviji široj publici, ali i malo drukčiji od standardnih sudskih drama.

“Argentina, 1985.”, srećom, većinski pronalazi balans između lakonotnosti i težine, makar je balansiranje povremeno utjecalo na snagu dramatizacije istinite priče koja ne doseže žanrovski relativno slično postavljenog “JFK-a”, “Suđenje u Nürnbergu” ili “U ime oca” i mogla je imati i opipljivije tenzije u scenama kad Strassera i njegov pomoćnik Luis Moreno Ocampo (Peter Lanzani; “Klan”) dobivaju prijetnje preko telefona i “uživo”.

Međutim, filmu se ne može poreći kvaliteta i zanimljivost priče/glavnih likova. Ocampo ima direktne obiteljske veze s diktaturom (djed mu je bio general, njegova konzervativna majka podupire vojnu huntu), zbog čega je slučaj za njega osoban. Priprema suđenja i samo suđenje također su interesantni.

Strassera i Ocampo moraju održati najvažnije suđenje “u manje vremena nego što treba za osuditi kradljivca kokoši”, a cilj im je dokazati da je Prljavi rat bio “sustavan plan”, da su znali “što se događa i kako se događa” te, “osim pravde za žrtve”, postići da “smrt ne smije biti političko oružje”.

A događalo se štošta iz sfere državnog terora. Vojna hunta otimala je ljude (disidente) iz domova, mučila ih, silovala i ubijala. Trideset tisuća ljudi je nestalo u razdoblju od 1976. do 1983. i hunta je počinila “najveći genocid u novijoj povijesti”, pa je primjereno da je to suđenje bilo najveće nakon nürnberškog procesa, kad se sudilo najvećim ratnim zločincima Drugog svjetskog rata.

Većina ovakvih filmova poseže za dokumentarnim snimkama ili fotografijama zločina, no Mitre, pohvalno, daje prednost predočavanju okrutnosti kroz svjedočenja žrtava, njihove riječi i govor tijela prilikom prisjećanja na užase. U tom smislu presudno je potresno svjedočanstvo Adriane Calvo de Laborde (Laura Paredes) koja je bila trudna sedam i pol mjeseci u vrijeme otmice i rodila je na stražnjem sjedištu automobila u lisicama i s povezom preko očiju. Argentina se između 1975. i 2023. godine osam puta našla u utrci za Oscara u kategoriji najboljeg stranog (ili, po novome, međunarodnog) filma. Od tih osam puta, Argentina je zasad zabilježila dvije pobjede u snažnoj konkurenciji. Prva pobjeda dogodila se 1986. i tad je trijumfirala “Službena verzija” Luisa Puenza u odnosu na filmove kao što su “Pukovnik Redl” Istvána Szaba i “Otac na službenom putu” Emira Kusturice.

Uzgred, bio je to i prvi latinoamerički film nagrađen Oscarom. Druga pobjeda datira iz 2010., kad je “Tajna u njihovim očima” Juana Joséa Campanelle odnijela Oscara ispred Hanekeove ”Bijele vrpce” i “Proroka” Jean-Jacquesa Audiarda. Mnogi su očekivali da će treći zlatni kipić Argentini 2015. donijeti “Divlje priče”, također u jakoj konkurenciji (“Levijatan”, “Timbuktu”), ali pobijedila je “Ida”.

Neki očekuju da bi više sreće mogla imati ovogodišnja “Argentina, 1985.” (“Argentina, 1985”) Santiaga Mitrea, koja se, zanimljivo, odvija iste godine kad je snimljen prvi argentinski oskarovac “The Official Story”, a dijele i sličnu temu, odnosno dotiču se vojne diktature i takozvanog Prljavog rata od 1976. do 1983. godine, kršenja ljudskih prava i zločina protiv čovječnosti.

Dok se “Službena verzija” fokusirala na roditelje nezakonito posvojenog djeteta koje bi moglo biti plod jedne od žrtava vojne hunte, nestalih i utamničenih Argentinaca, “Argentina, 1985.” preuzima štafetu i bavi se povijesnim suđenjem akterima diktature. Politička drama snimljena prema istinitoj priči ima snažnu temu i već je osvojila Zlatni globus u kategoriji međunarodnog filma, stoga se nameće kao najveći takmac njemačkom antiratnom favoritu “Na zapadu ništa novo”.

Istina, “All Quiet On The Western Front” rezonira snažnije u jeku invazije na Ukrajinu, ali ni “Argentina, 1985” nije zanemariva s pričom o kažnjavanju vojne diktature koja je naciju podvrgnula neopisivim užasima i uopće sizifovskoj potrazi za pravdom u često nepravednom svijetu. Film u uvodu podsjeća na zbivanja iz ne tako davne povijesti Argentine. Gledatelja se podsjeća da je u prosincu 1983. Argentina povratila demokraciju nakon sedmogodišnje vojne diktature.

Predsjednik Raúl Ricardo Alfonsin naredio je da se bivše zapovjednike izvede pred sud za zločine protiv čovječnosti. Zapovjednici samo prihvaćaju da budu saslušani od strane Vojnog suda. Nekoliko mjeseci otkako je nova vlada preuzela ured suđenje se nije pomaknulo naprijed, ali šire se glasine da bi suđenje preuzeo Građanski sud. Ako se to dogodi, Prizivni sud bi trebao preuzeti suđenje, a odgovornost za tužbu pala bi na glavnog tužitelja Julija Strasseru, što se će se i dogoditi.

“Ne želim biti moron koji mora obraniti nešto u što vlada ne vjeruje”, govori Strassera u tumačenju vodećeg argentinskog glumca Ricarda Darina (glumio i u zadnja dva oskarovska nominenta). “Zar živimo u zemlji čudesa? Odjednom će svi diktatori u zatvor?” pita se Strassera i strahuje da je posrijedi “zamka”, tj. da ga “koriste za neku vrstu pregovora”.

“Povijest nisu pisali ljudi poput mene”, smatra Strassera, ali će je ipak ispisati kao tužitelj na “najvažnijem suđenju u povijesti Argentine”, postati nacionalni heroj i u završnoj riječi reći “Nunca mas”, ili “Nikad više”. Teško breme je ponio Strassera na svojim leđima i zadatak je opasan po život s obzirom na utjecaj bivših zapovjednika u policiji koja je bila uključena u zbivanja.

Redatelj i koscenarist Mitre pokušava olakšati tešku dramu uplivima (ciničnog) humora, da film ne bude smrtno ozbiljan, pa tako izokreće elemente trilera paranoje i nadzora kad Strassera u prvoj sceni špijunira vlastitu tinejdžersku kćer Veronicu (Gina Mastronicola) uz pomoć mlađeg sina Javiera (Santiago Armas Estevarena) zato što je počela izlaziti s momkom naizgled sumnjivog vojnog podrijetla. Ipak, u toj sceni se odražava Strasserin i Mitrein stav prema prijašnjem režimu, a redatelj odabire lakonotni ritam za pričanje teške priče kako bi film lakše “klizio” i bio prijemčljiviji široj publici, ali i malo drukčiji od standardnih sudskih drama.

“Argentina, 1985.”, srećom, većinski pronalazi balans između lakonotnosti i težine, makar je balansiranje povremeno utjecalo na snagu dramatizacije istinite priče koja ne doseže žanrovski relativno slično postavljenog “JFK-a”, “Suđenje u Nürnbergu” ili “U ime oca” i mogla je imati i opipljivije tenzije u scenama kad Strassera i njegov pomoćnik Luis Moreno Ocampo (Peter Lanzani; “Klan”) dobivaju prijetnje preko telefona i “uživo”.

Međutim, filmu se ne može poreći kvaliteta i zanimljivost priče/glavnih likova. Ocampo ima direktne obiteljske veze s diktaturom (djed mu je bio general, njegova konzervativna majka podupire vojnu huntu), zbog čega je slučaj za njega osoban. Priprema suđenja i samo suđenje također su interesantni.

Strassera i Ocampo moraju održati najvažnije suđenje “u manje vremena nego što treba za osuditi kradljivca kokoši”, a cilj im je dokazati da je Prljavi rat bio “sustavan plan”, da su znali “što se događa i kako se događa” te, “osim pravde za žrtve”, postići da “smrt ne smije biti političko oružje”.

A događalo se štošta iz sfere državnog terora. Vojna hunta otimala je ljude (disidente) iz domova, mučila ih, silovala i ubijala. Trideset tisuća ljudi je nestalo u razdoblju od 1976. do 1983. i hunta je počinila “najveći genocid u novijoj povijesti”, pa je primjereno da je to suđenje bilo najveće nakon nürnberškog procesa, kad se sudilo najvećim ratnim zločincima Drugog svjetskog rata.

Većina ovakvih filmova poseže za dokumentarnim snimkama ili fotografijama zločina, no Mitre, pohvalno, daje prednost predočavanju okrutnosti kroz svjedočenja žrtava, njihove riječi i govor tijela prilikom prisjećanja na užase. U tom smislu presudno je potresno svjedočanstvo Adriane Calvo de Laborde (Laura Paredes) koja je bila trudna sedam i pol mjeseci u vrijeme otmice i rodila je na stražnjem sjedištu automobila u lisicama i s povezom preko očiju. Nunca mas.
