Demonska prisutnost nadvija se nad još jednim nadnaravnim hororom “Anđeo tame” (“From Black”), ali je nešto drukčijeg tipa od “Časne II ”. “Anđeo tame” starta gotovo kao krimi-triler, nakon što se u zaglavlju ispiše ominozan citat SF i fantasy pisca Matthewa Stovera “Tama je velikodušna i strpljiva, i uvijek pobjeđuje”.
Poziv 911. “Samo pošaljite nekoga. Moram pobjeći odavde...”, zavapi ženski glas i izgovori krucijalne riječi: “Ne mogu izaći, on bi još mogao biti ovdje.” Naravno, gledatelja zanima tko je “on”, ali polako. Policijska narednica Bray (Jennifer Lafleur ) istražuje što se dogodilo Cori (solidna Anna Camp ), ženi koja je nazvala 911 i pronađena je sva u krvi.

Cijela jedna soba je prekrivena krvlju, plahte kreveta, kauč... Doznajemo da krv nije Corina i da je policajka poznaje kao bivšu đanketu i ožalošćenu majku misteriozno nestalog dječaka Noaha (Eduardo Campirano ). Tragovi okultnog vidiljivi su, pak, u sobi sa svijećama i nekakvim ritualističkim krugom na podu.
Cora je na ispitivanju u policijskoj postaji, a nove krucijalne riječi postaju: “Samo ga želim natrag. Rekao mi je da bih ga mogla dobiti natrag.” Redatelj Thomas Marchese bio je policajac i to se vidi u uvodu filma inspiriranog irskim hororom Liama Gavina “A Dark Song” iz 2016. godine, o majci koja pristaje na okultni ritual kako bi vratila nestalog sina.
Prije “From Black” Marchese je snimio dokumentarac “Fallen” o policajcima koji se nose s gubitkom kolega. Dakle, činio se pogođenim izborom za mračni horor o traumi s izrazitim uplivom drame na temu gubitka djeteta, što je strava i užas prve vrste. Gubitak, tj. Corina usamljenost i bespomoćnost pokretači su priče ispričane na razmeđu tuge i jeze.
Dio minutaže uzimaju scene s protagonisticom kako se pokušava nositi s traumom na grupi potpore, gdje ona upoznaje Abela (John Ales ). Abel je i sam izgubio kćer i crne misli motaju mu se po glavi. Dosta je čuti njegovu teoriju u vezi animiranog klasika “Potraga za Nemom ”.

Prema Abelu, tata je pojeo sva jajašca, što ribe klaun rade. Cijela priča crtića zapravo je priča koju otac pripovijeda samome sebi i na taj način se nosi s traumom. “To je mračno”, zaključi Cora, a Abel istakne da “Nemo” na latinskom znači “nitko” (“Finding Nobody”).
Mračan je i Abelov prijedlog za Corino ponovno sjedinjenje sa sinom, iako za nju predstavlja tračak svjetla. Prijedlog uključuje sazivanje demona i tu za film nastupaju problemi. Nakon obećavajućeg početka i dojmljive “slow motion” scene u kojoj Cora sanja otmicu sina i tiho vrišti, “Anđeo tame” razvlači priču i na generički način pristupa metafizičkim seansama između života i smrti, odnosno pokušaju da se stradali vrate “otamo gdje već idu”.
Scenografija rituala satkana od crtanja kredom po podovima može podsjetiti na “Dogville” i Marchese dijelom tipuje na kompleksnu jednostavnost tog tipa, ali je opterećen “twistovima” i sve napadnijim audiovizualnim dočaravanjem prisutnosti misterioznog demonskog stvorenja zlih namjera i prepoznatljivog čudovišnog izgleda.
Tutnjava, škripanje, teško disanje i režanje postaju redateljevi saveznici u kreaciji strave i užasa s pridodanim sjenama iza poluotvorenih vrata, premda je dovoljna jedna monstrumova rečenica (“Bol je sve što ostaje”) da oslika najveći horor “Anđela tame”, gledljivog i zaboravljivog filma koji se odjavljuje pamtljivom završnom scenom. Ključne riječi: Mr. Magoo i boo.

Demonska prisutnost nadvija se nad još jednim nadnaravnim hororom “Anđeo tame” (“From Black”), ali je nešto drukčijeg tipa od “Časne II ”. “Anđeo tame” starta gotovo kao krimi-triler, nakon što se u zaglavlju ispiše ominozan citat SF i fantasy pisca Matthewa Stovera “Tama je velikodušna i strpljiva, i uvijek pobjeđuje”.
Poziv 911. “Samo pošaljite nekoga. Moram pobjeći odavde...”, zavapi ženski glas i izgovori krucijalne riječi: “Ne mogu izaći, on bi još mogao biti ovdje.” Naravno, gledatelja zanima tko je “on”, ali polako. Policijska narednica Bray (Jennifer Lafleur ) istražuje što se dogodilo Cori (solidna Anna Camp ), ženi koja je nazvala 911 i pronađena je sva u krvi.

Cijela jedna soba je prekrivena krvlju, plahte kreveta, kauč... Doznajemo da krv nije Corina i da je policajka poznaje kao bivšu đanketu i ožalošćenu majku misteriozno nestalog dječaka Noaha (Eduardo Campirano ). Tragovi okultnog vidiljivi su, pak, u sobi sa svijećama i nekakvim ritualističkim krugom na podu.
Cora je na ispitivanju u policijskoj postaji, a nove krucijalne riječi postaju: “Samo ga želim natrag. Rekao mi je da bih ga mogla dobiti natrag.” Redatelj Thomas Marchese bio je policajac i to se vidi u uvodu filma inspiriranog irskim hororom Liama Gavina “A Dark Song” iz 2016. godine, o majci koja pristaje na okultni ritual kako bi vratila nestalog sina.
Prije “From Black” Marchese je snimio dokumentarac “Fallen” o policajcima koji se nose s gubitkom kolega. Dakle, činio se pogođenim izborom za mračni horor o traumi s izrazitim uplivom drame na temu gubitka djeteta, što je strava i užas prve vrste. Gubitak, tj. Corina usamljenost i bespomoćnost pokretači su priče ispričane na razmeđu tuge i jeze.
Dio minutaže uzimaju scene s protagonisticom kako se pokušava nositi s traumom na grupi potpore, gdje ona upoznaje Abela (John Ales ). Abel je i sam izgubio kćer i crne misli motaju mu se po glavi. Dosta je čuti njegovu teoriju u vezi animiranog klasika “Potraga za Nemom ”.

Prema Abelu, tata je pojeo sva jajašca, što ribe klaun rade. Cijela priča crtića zapravo je priča koju otac pripovijeda samome sebi i na taj način se nosi s traumom. “To je mračno”, zaključi Cora, a Abel istakne da “Nemo” na latinskom znači “nitko” (“Finding Nobody”).
Mračan je i Abelov prijedlog za Corino ponovno sjedinjenje sa sinom, iako za nju predstavlja tračak svjetla. Prijedlog uključuje sazivanje demona i tu za film nastupaju problemi. Nakon obećavajućeg početka i dojmljive “slow motion” scene u kojoj Cora sanja otmicu sina i tiho vrišti, “Anđeo tame” razvlači priču i na generički način pristupa metafizičkim seansama između života i smrti, odnosno pokušaju da se stradali vrate “otamo gdje već idu”.
Scenografija rituala satkana od crtanja kredom po podovima može podsjetiti na “Dogville” i Marchese dijelom tipuje na kompleksnu jednostavnost tog tipa, ali je opterećen “twistovima” i sve napadnijim audiovizualnim dočaravanjem prisutnosti misterioznog demonskog stvorenja zlih namjera i prepoznatljivog čudovišnog izgleda.
Tutnjava, škripanje, teško disanje i režanje postaju redateljevi saveznici u kreaciji strave i užasa s pridodanim sjenama iza poluotvorenih vrata, premda je dovoljna jedna monstrumova rečenica (“Bol je sve što ostaje”) da oslika najveći horor “Anđela tame”, gledljivog i zaboravljivog filma koji se odjavljuje pamtljivom završnom scenom. Ključne riječi: Mr. Magoo i boo.
