Veteran hrvatske kinematografije Branko Schmidt predstavio se na Pulskom festivalu davne 1988. s filmom "Sokol ga nije volio", da bi se već tri godine kasnije vratio s "Đukom Begovićem". Svaki Schmidtov idući film bio je potom na Puli, zaključno s najnovijim "A bili smo vam dobri".

Od "Sokol ga nije volio" do "A bili smo vam dobri" Schmidt je snimio štošta ("Vukovar se vraća kući", "Božić u Beču", "Srce nije u modi", "Kraljica noći") i bio u devedesetima prozvan "režimskim redateljem", ali je i napravio najveći "comeback" u hrvatskoj kinematografiji.

Schmidtov povratak se nazirao s "Putom lubenica" da bi se potvrdio s odličnim "Metastazama", pobjednikom Pule 2009. godine. Otad naovamo, Schmidt je stvorio jedan od autorski najujednačenijih opusa unutar hrvatske kinematografije, s jednim filmom za dušu ("Imena višnje") i niskom riskantnih, provokativnih, subverzivnih ostvarenja koji su rušili tabue dirajući se u osinje gnijezdo, od korupcije u zdravstvu ("Ljudožder vegetarijanac") do pedofilije u crkvi ("Agape").

Ne krijući razočaranost državom, nekadašnji "režimski režiser" postao je najžešći društveno-politički komentator među redateljima i kritičar tog režima nakon što je isti "metastazirao" u ovo što imamo posljednjih 20-ak godina (korupcija, siromaštvo). "A bili smo vam dobri" je film tog i takvog neustrašivog Schmidta pa ne čudi da se redatelj, nakon hrvatskog zdravstva i crkve, dotaknuo još jedne vruće teme domaćeg društva i politike – branitelja.

Nastavljajući tamo gdje je stao s "Metastazama" i "Ljudožderom vegetarijancem", Schmidt je ponovno angažirao Renea Bitorajca za glavnu ulogu i snimatelju (Dario Haček nakon Dragana Ruljančića) sugerirao da skine kameru sa stativa i uzme je u ruke. Treba podsjetiti na to da je Schmidt u "Metastazama", uz Tomislava Radića "Što je Iva snimila", dokinuo statičnu, ukočenu hrvatsku režiju i modernizirao režijski postupak.

Kamera je i ovaj put u pokretu, prelazi s lika na lik, a najviše se zadržava na Bitorajcu. Glumac bi lako mogao osvojiti Zlatnu arenu za ulogu heroja Domovinskog rata Dinka Ćosića, "čovjeka koji je sjeb'o 23 tenka". Ćosić se isprve nevoljko pridružuje ostalim braniteljima u zauzimanju Paromlina u centru Zagreba negdje oko Božića, da bi se kasnije predomislio i rekao: "Ovaj put idemo do kraja".

Paromlin je, kako je Vlada obećala braniteljima, trebao biti pretvoren u Muzej domovinske zahvalnosti, ali od toga se odustalo jer, kao, "zgradi prijeti urušavanje". Baš tu branitelji su se pripremali za rat i zato smatraju da im pripada Paromlin oko kojeg se, na Dinkovo zgražanje, okupljaju i mladi ekstremni desničari, a ovim prosvjedničkim činom "hoće postići da nas poštuju", dijelom podsjećajući na "šatoraše" u zagrebačkoj Savskoj ulici iz stvarnosti od prije nekoliko godina.

Ipak, Ćosić je skeptičan jer "ljudi gledaju 'Farmu' na televiziji, jebe se njima za branitelje". "Svima već idemo na kurac, ljudi kopaju po kontejnerima, govore 'imaju svoje penzije, šta više hoće?'...", kaže Dinko. Anketa među građanima na TV-u također većinski ne ide braniteljima u prilog.

"Obranili su državu, a to ne znači da moramo postati njihovi taoci. Rat je gotov", zaključi netko. Međutim, kad policija upadne u Paromlin da napravi pretres zbog oružja i mjesto zatim posjeti ministar koji evidentno prodaje priče i uvrijedi Ćosića, tenzije i nezadovoljstvo rastu pa branitelji na čelu s herojem dovoze kamion pun plinskih boca i postave ih napolju, spremni da dignu sve u zrak.

"Bit će vatrometa", najavi netko naizglednu kulminaciju tenzija i tad se čini se da drama nezaustavljivo raste u akcijsko-trilerskom smislu, tj. da bi hrvatski film s "A bili smo vam dobri" mogao dobiti svoga "Ramba" ili "Park Is Mine", nekakav "Paromlin je moj".

No, Schmidt kao da je procijenio da bi to možda bilo odveć subverzivno pa ne ide "do kraja", kako je Dinko priželjkivao, a moguće da je promjena tona rezultat otežane produkcije tijekom pandemije i nekoliko verzija/vizija scenarija koji uz redatelja potpisuju Sandra Antolić i Ognjen Sviličić, a prema inicijalnoj priči Josipa Mlakića.

"A bili smo vam dobri" ublažava posredovane tenzije i u akcijski antikulminativnom, no politički zanimljivom trećem činu skreće u drugom smjeru, postajući svojevrsna nadopuna "Dopunske nastave" Ivana Gorana Viteza, u kojoj je bivšeg branitelja također glumio Milivoj Beader, ali i nešto više od toga.

Kritika ekstremne desnice, "ustašenja" i zabrinjavajuće radikalizacije mladih koji krivo re-interpretiraju povijest zahvaljujući indoktrinaciji i huškačima. "Kaj mi imamo s fašistima", pita Ćosić kad ugleda slovo "U" na Paromlinu. Odgovor je nadglasao novogodišnji vatromet pomiješan s rafalima.

Počele su ocjene publike za nagradu Zlatna vrata Pule. Zasad je poznata ocjena filma otvaranja "Murina", i ona je dosta visoka - 4,5.

Veteran hrvatske kinematografije Branko Schmidt predstavio se na Pulskom festivalu davne 1988. s filmom "Sokol ga nije volio", da bi se već tri godine kasnije vratio s "Đukom Begovićem". Svaki Schmidtov idući film bio je potom na Puli, zaključno s najnovijim "A bili smo vam dobri".

Od "Sokol ga nije volio" do "A bili smo vam dobri" Schmidt je snimio štošta ("Vukovar se vraća kući", "Božić u Beču", "Srce nije u modi", "Kraljica noći") i bio u devedesetima prozvan "režimskim redateljem", ali je i napravio najveći "comeback" u hrvatskoj kinematografiji.

Schmidtov povratak se nazirao s "Putom lubenica" da bi se potvrdio s odličnim "Metastazama", pobjednikom Pule 2009. godine. Otad naovamo, Schmidt je stvorio jedan od autorski najujednačenijih opusa unutar hrvatske kinematografije, s jednim filmom za dušu ("Imena višnje") i niskom riskantnih, provokativnih, subverzivnih ostvarenja koji su rušili tabue dirajući se u osinje gnijezdo, od korupcije u zdravstvu ("Ljudožder vegetarijanac") do pedofilije u crkvi ("Agape").

Ne krijući razočaranost državom, nekadašnji "režimski režiser" postao je najžešći društveno-politički komentator među redateljima i kritičar tog režima nakon što je isti "metastazirao" u ovo što imamo posljednjih 20-ak godina (korupcija, siromaštvo). "A bili smo vam dobri" je film tog i takvog neustrašivog Schmidta pa ne čudi da se redatelj, nakon hrvatskog zdravstva i crkve, dotaknuo još jedne vruće teme domaćeg društva i politike – branitelja.

Nastavljajući tamo gdje je stao s "Metastazama" i "Ljudožderom vegetarijancem", Schmidt je ponovno angažirao Renea Bitorajca za glavnu ulogu i snimatelju (Dario Haček nakon Dragana Ruljančića) sugerirao da skine kameru sa stativa i uzme je u ruke. Treba podsjetiti na to da je Schmidt u "Metastazama", uz Tomislava Radića "Što je Iva snimila", dokinuo statičnu, ukočenu hrvatsku režiju i modernizirao režijski postupak.

Kamera je i ovaj put u pokretu, prelazi s lika na lik, a najviše se zadržava na Bitorajcu. Glumac bi lako mogao osvojiti Zlatnu arenu za ulogu heroja Domovinskog rata Dinka Ćosića, "čovjeka koji je sjeb'o 23 tenka". Ćosić se isprve nevoljko pridružuje ostalim braniteljima u zauzimanju Paromlina u centru Zagreba negdje oko Božića, da bi se kasnije predomislio i rekao: "Ovaj put idemo do kraja".

Paromlin je, kako je Vlada obećala braniteljima, trebao biti pretvoren u Muzej domovinske zahvalnosti, ali od toga se odustalo jer, kao, "zgradi prijeti urušavanje". Baš tu branitelji su se pripremali za rat i zato smatraju da im pripada Paromlin oko kojeg se, na Dinkovo zgražanje, okupljaju i mladi ekstremni desničari, a ovim prosvjedničkim činom "hoće postići da nas poštuju", dijelom podsjećajući na "šatoraše" u zagrebačkoj Savskoj ulici iz stvarnosti od prije nekoliko godina.

Ipak, Ćosić je skeptičan jer "ljudi gledaju 'Farmu' na televiziji, jebe se njima za branitelje". "Svima već idemo na kurac, ljudi kopaju po kontejnerima, govore 'imaju svoje penzije, šta više hoće?'...", kaže Dinko. Anketa među građanima na TV-u također većinski ne ide braniteljima u prilog.

"Obranili su državu, a to ne znači da moramo postati njihovi taoci. Rat je gotov", zaključi netko. Međutim, kad policija upadne u Paromlin da napravi pretres zbog oružja i mjesto zatim posjeti ministar koji evidentno prodaje priče i uvrijedi Ćosića, tenzije i nezadovoljstvo rastu pa branitelji na čelu s herojem dovoze kamion pun plinskih boca i postave ih napolju, spremni da dignu sve u zrak.

"Bit će vatrometa", najavi netko naizglednu kulminaciju tenzija i tad se čini se da drama nezaustavljivo raste u akcijsko-trilerskom smislu, tj. da bi hrvatski film s "A bili smo vam dobri" mogao dobiti svoga "Ramba" ili "Park Is Mine", nekakav "Paromlin je moj".

No, Schmidt kao da je procijenio da bi to možda bilo odveć subverzivno pa ne ide "do kraja", kako je Dinko priželjkivao, a moguće da je promjena tona rezultat otežane produkcije tijekom pandemije i nekoliko verzija/vizija scenarija koji uz redatelja potpisuju Sandra Antolić i Ognjen Sviličić, a prema inicijalnoj priči Josipa Mlakića.

"A bili smo vam dobri" ublažava posredovane tenzije i u akcijski antikulminativnom, no politički zanimljivom trećem činu skreće u drugom smjeru, postajući svojevrsna nadopuna "Dopunske nastave" Ivana Gorana Viteza, u kojoj je bivšeg branitelja također glumio Milivoj Beader, ali i nešto više od toga.

Kritika ekstremne desnice, "ustašenja" i zabrinjavajuće radikalizacije mladih koji krivo re-interpretiraju povijest zahvaljujući indoktrinaciji i huškačima. "Kaj mi imamo s fašistima", pita Ćosić kad ugleda slovo "U" na Paromlinu. Odgovor je nadglasao novogodišnji vatromet pomiješan s rafalima.

Počele su ocjene publike za nagradu Zlatna vrata Pule. Zasad je poznata ocjena filma otvaranja "Murina", i ona je dosta visoka - 4,5.
