Vrgorska brdsko-planinska sela opustjela su, rijetko se tu mladost može vidjeti, a nekad je u tim mjestima cvao život, smijalo se i pjevalo na svakom koraku, škole su bile pune djece, staje prepune blaga...

Nije to bilo tako davno, prije pola stoljeća, a onda je zbog nedostatka infrastrukture i radnih mjesta u bližem okruženju počeo odlazak trbuhom za kruhom po Hrvatskoj i bijelom svijetu.

Školski primjer tog izumiranja je selo Poljica, ljudi koji žive u tom selu ne vole službeni pridjev Kozička, jer tvrde da su im to dodale bivše vlasti, premda ni od samostalnosti Hrvatske nije bilo promjene u tom pitanju. Kako bilo, mještani za sebe ističu da su iz Poljica pokraj Vrgorca.

Prelijepo selo, smješteno na 727 metara nadmorske visine, prije 70 godina imalo je 1112 stanovnika, dva desetljeća kasnije, odnosno početkom sedamdesetih godina prošlog stoljeća ta brojka se vrtjela oko 1000 i onda je počelo masovno iseljavanje i odumiranje tog kraja, da bi Poljica danas ostala na samo 40 stalnih žitelja. Prema procjenama, više od 1000 današnjih stanovnika Makarske vuče korijene iz tog kraja.

U šest sela Gornjih Poljica 21. stoljeće još nije stiglo: ti vrijedni ljudi će vam sve dati, samo vodu ih ne pitajte... Nemaju je!

Daleko najbolji krumpir i mrkva u sjeveroistočnom dijelu Zabiokovlja proizvodi se u ovom selu. U miru i tišini tu stvara književnik Ivan Grljušić, o kojem je Hrvatska televizija snimila film “Vrutak vedrine”. Grljušićeva djela prevedena su na nekoliko svjetskih jezika.

Već desetljećima zaštitnica Poljica je Gospa od Zdravlja, kojoj je i posvećena crkva na Igrištima iz 1887. godine, a na blagdan svoje nebeske zaštitnice Poljičani i njihovi gosti proslavili su veliki jubilej - 100 godina župe kojoj danas pripadaju mjesta Mijaca s crkvom Velike Gospe i Žlibina s crkvom sv. Luke, te crkva sv. Jure u Medacima.

Do 1912. godine Poljica su pripadala župi Kozica koju su držali franjevci, a onda su se osamostalila kao župa s biskupijskim svećenikom. Svečanu svetu misu s procesijom predvodio je don Zvonimir Mijić, biskupski vikar za kler Nadbiskupije splitsko-makarske, u koncelebraciji s velikim brojem svećenika iz Biokovskog dekanata.

Tom prilikom župljanima i javnosti predstavljen je restaurirani drveni oltar iz 19. stoljeća, koji je napravljen u majstorskoj radionici u austrijskom Tirolu, a netko ga je zavjetno donio u Poljica. Oltar je obnovljen uz pomoć Županije splitsko-dalmatinske.

Župnik u Poljicima već tri godine je don Pero Badrov, koji još duhovno brine i o stanovnicima Krstatica, mjesta smještenog dvadesetak kilometara zapadnije, koje administrativno pripada općini Zagvozd i povijesno Imotskoj krajini.

- Može li se vratit život u ova sela? Pa, može, ali to treba biti koordinirana akcija Vlade, Sabora i lokalne vlasti, odnosno Grada Vrgorca.

Ljudi u ovom kraju imaju sto problema, ali bore se, ne predaju se, to im je u genima.

Zato su i opstali toliko godina, duhovno su jaki, dolaze na svete mise, ali to dosta ovisi o godišnjim dobima i vremenu. Zime su ovdje jako oštre - kazao je don Pero.

Treba istaknuti da su mnogi iseljeni Poljičani, posebno oni iz Makarske, počeli obnavljati svoju djedovinu. Sve je više kuća za odmor na nekadašnjim obiteljskim ognjištima, ali veliki im problem predstavlja zapuštena prometna infrastruktura, nedostatak vode te slab napon HEP-ove elektromreže.

Vrgorska brdsko-planinska sela opustjela su, rijetko se tu mladost može vidjeti, a nekad je u tim mjestima cvao život, smijalo se i pjevalo na svakom koraku, škole su bile pune djece, staje prepune blaga...

Nije to bilo tako davno, prije pola stoljeća, a onda je zbog nedostatka infrastrukture i radnih mjesta u bližem okruženju počeo odlazak trbuhom za kruhom po Hrvatskoj i bijelom svijetu.

Školski primjer tog izumiranja je selo Poljica, ljudi koji žive u tom selu ne vole službeni pridjev Kozička, jer tvrde da su im to dodale bivše vlasti, premda ni od samostalnosti Hrvatske nije bilo promjene u tom pitanju. Kako bilo, mještani za sebe ističu da su iz Poljica pokraj Vrgorca.

Prelijepo selo, smješteno na 727 metara nadmorske visine, prije 70 godina imalo je 1112 stanovnika, dva desetljeća kasnije, odnosno početkom sedamdesetih godina prošlog stoljeća ta brojka se vrtjela oko 1000 i onda je počelo masovno iseljavanje i odumiranje tog kraja, da bi Poljica danas ostala na samo 40 stalnih žitelja. Prema procjenama, više od 1000 današnjih stanovnika Makarske vuče korijene iz tog kraja.

U šest sela Gornjih Poljica 21. stoljeće još nije stiglo: ti vrijedni ljudi će vam sve dati, samo vodu ih ne pitajte... Nemaju je!

Daleko najbolji krumpir i mrkva u sjeveroistočnom dijelu Zabiokovlja proizvodi se u ovom selu. U miru i tišini tu stvara književnik Ivan Grljušić, o kojem je Hrvatska televizija snimila film “Vrutak vedrine”. Grljušićeva djela prevedena su na nekoliko svjetskih jezika.

Već desetljećima zaštitnica Poljica je Gospa od Zdravlja, kojoj je i posvećena crkva na Igrištima iz 1887. godine, a na blagdan svoje nebeske zaštitnice Poljičani i njihovi gosti proslavili su veliki jubilej - 100 godina župe kojoj danas pripadaju mjesta Mijaca s crkvom Velike Gospe i Žlibina s crkvom sv. Luke, te crkva sv. Jure u Medacima.

Do 1912. godine Poljica su pripadala župi Kozica koju su držali franjevci, a onda su se osamostalila kao župa s biskupijskim svećenikom. Svečanu svetu misu s procesijom predvodio je don Zvonimir Mijić, biskupski vikar za kler Nadbiskupije splitsko-makarske, u koncelebraciji s velikim brojem svećenika iz Biokovskog dekanata.

Privatni Album

Tom prilikom župljanima i javnosti predstavljen je restaurirani drveni oltar iz 19. stoljeća, koji je napravljen u majstorskoj radionici u austrijskom Tirolu, a netko ga je zavjetno donio u Poljica. Oltar je obnovljen uz pomoć Županije splitsko-dalmatinske.

Župnik u Poljicima već tri godine je don Pero Badrov, koji još duhovno brine i o stanovnicima Krstatica, mjesta smještenog dvadesetak kilometara zapadnije, koje administrativno pripada općini Zagvozd i povijesno Imotskoj krajini.

- Može li se vratit život u ova sela? Pa, može, ali to treba biti koordinirana akcija Vlade, Sabora i lokalne vlasti, odnosno Grada Vrgorca.

Ljudi u ovom kraju imaju sto problema, ali bore se, ne predaju se, to im je u genima.

Zato su i opstali toliko godina, duhovno su jaki, dolaze na svete mise, ali to dosta ovisi o godišnjim dobima i vremenu. Zime su ovdje jako oštre - kazao je don Pero.

Treba istaknuti da su mnogi iseljeni Poljičani, posebno oni iz Makarske, počeli obnavljati svoju djedovinu. Sve je više kuća za odmor na nekadašnjim obiteljskim ognjištima, ali veliki im problem predstavlja zapuštena prometna infrastruktura, nedostatak vode te slab napon HEP-ove elektromreže.
