Dugogodišnji lokalni aktivist u radu za javno dobro iz mjesta Velić Marijo Kozina, koji je svojedobno bio i predsjednik Mjesnog odbora, te njegovi prijatelji Tonko Bartulović i Igor Podrug, pronašli su i na terenu potvrdili antičku cestu s većim brojem kolotraga (spurila) za koju se pretpostavljalo da prolazi upravo kroz mjesto Velić zahvaljujući miljokazu iz prve polovine trećeg stoljeća.

Godine 1921. na predjelu zvanom Krivača, braća Martin i Jure Kozina (Šarac) obrađujući svoju njivu iskopali su kamen koji im je godinama predstavljao problem pri obradi zemlje. Uvidjevši da je pronađeni kamen ukrašen simbolima tj. nekim natpisom, o svom otkriću obavijestili su tadašnjeg župnika fra Franu Tonkovića, piše Ferata.

Mještanin Marko Kozina je sa svojim zaprežnim kolima (karom) miljokaz odvezao u Sinj na Reru, a potom je transportiran u Split u Arheološki muzej gdje je i danas nalazi pohranjen i izložen za javnost.

Kameni stup miljokaza visok 108 cm i promjera 33 cm postavljen je u vrijeme cara Gaja Julija Vera Maksimina nazvanog Trax (Tračanin), a koji je vladao od 235. do 238. g.

kolotrazi potvrdili miljokaz

Rimski miljokazi postavljali su se uz važnije cestovne pravce te su označavali prijeđene rimske milje od neke bitnije točke ili početne točke ceste. U velićkom slučaju miljokaz je postavljen na 21. rimsku milju od Salone označavajući cestovni pravac preko Tiluriuma i dalje kroz naselja triljskog kraja Vedrine, Jabuku i Velić prema unutrašnjosti tadašnje rimske provincije Dalmacije, za Rimljane gospodarski važnog područja. Radi se o cestovnom pravcu Salona-Argentaria (područje Srebrenice).

Pronađeni kolotrag na trasi rimske ceste

Pored velikog ekonomskog značaja, ova cesta je imala posebnu stratešku važnost za Rimsko carstvo. Cestu Salona-Argentaria Rimljani su koristili za transport ljudi i raznih vrsta roba te za prebacivanje vojnih jedinica i naoružanja na rimski limes u područje Podunavlja.

Mnogi arheolozi i povjesničari su zadnjih desetljeća na osnovi pronađenog miljokaza pretpostavljali da upravo ovim prostorom prolazi važna trasa rimske ceste, ali potvrde i dokazi poput kolotraga (spurila) kroz mjesto Velić do sada nisu pronađeni ni zabilježeni u znanstvenim izvorima.

Na dionici dugoj cca 600 m pronađeno je više od 40 dobro vidljivih kolotraga, a na ostatku trase u dužini od cca 1,5 km i očuvani, podzidani rubnjaci i nasipi jednog dijela spomenute ceste koja u cijelosti prolazi kroz mjesto, od njegovog zapadnog do istočnog teritorijalnog dijela, kako je rekao Marijo.

O otkriću ove važne povijesne prometnice obaviještena je arheološka i konzervatorska struka na lokalnoj kao i na nacionalnoj razini. Pojedine nadležne institucije i stručne osobe s Marijom su obišle teren i lokacije sa pronađenim kolotrazima te im je prezentirana trasa koja prolazi kroz mjesto Velić.

Daljnji postupci idu u smjeru arheološke zaštite opisane dionice rimske ceste kao vrlo vrijedne povijesne i kulturne baštine, kako mjesta Velić, tako i Republike Hrvatske.

S obzirom na značaj i arheološku vrijednost ubicirane cestovne trase, u budućem i vrlo kratkom vremenu očekuje se da se ista žurno zaštiti, valorizira i uklopi u turističku ponudu Triljskog kraja, piše Ferata.

Dugogodišnji lokalni aktivist u radu za javno dobro iz mjesta Velić Marijo Kozina, koji je svojedobno bio i predsjednik Mjesnog odbora, te njegovi prijatelji Tonko Bartulović i Igor Podrug, pronašli su i na terenu potvrdili antičku cestu s većim brojem kolotraga (spurila) za koju se pretpostavljalo da prolazi upravo kroz mjesto Velić zahvaljujući miljokazu iz prve polovine trećeg stoljeća.

Godine 1921. na predjelu zvanom Krivača, braća Martin i Jure Kozina (Šarac) obrađujući svoju njivu iskopali su kamen koji im je godinama predstavljao problem pri obradi zemlje. Uvidjevši da je pronađeni kamen ukrašen simbolima tj. nekim natpisom, o svom otkriću obavijestili su tadašnjeg župnika fra Franu Tonkovića, piše Ferata.

Mještanin Marko Kozina je sa svojim zaprežnim kolima (karom) miljokaz odvezao u Sinj na Reru, a potom je transportiran u Split u Arheološki muzej gdje je i danas nalazi pohranjen i izložen za javnost.

Kameni stup miljokaza visok 108 cm i promjera 33 cm postavljen je u vrijeme cara Gaja Julija Vera Maksimina nazvanog Trax (Tračanin), a koji je vladao od 235. do 238. g.

kolotrazi potvrdili miljokaz

Rimski miljokazi postavljali su se uz važnije cestovne pravce te su označavali prijeđene rimske milje od neke bitnije točke ili početne točke ceste. U velićkom slučaju miljokaz je postavljen na 21. rimsku milju od Salone označavajući cestovni pravac preko Tiluriuma i dalje kroz naselja triljskog kraja Vedrine, Jabuku i Velić prema unutrašnjosti tadašnje rimske provincije Dalmacije, za Rimljane gospodarski važnog područja. Radi se o cestovnom pravcu Salona-Argentaria (područje Srebrenice).

Pored velikog ekonomskog značaja, ova cesta je imala posebnu stratešku važnost za Rimsko carstvo. Cestu Salona-Argentaria Rimljani su koristili za transport ljudi i raznih vrsta roba te za prebacivanje vojnih jedinica i naoružanja na rimski limes u područje Podunavlja.

Mnogi arheolozi i povjesničari su zadnjih desetljeća na osnovi pronađenog miljokaza pretpostavljali da upravo ovim prostorom prolazi važna trasa rimske ceste, ali potvrde i dokazi poput kolotraga (spurila) kroz mjesto Velić do sada nisu pronađeni ni zabilježeni u znanstvenim izvorima.

potreba za što žurnijom zaštitom

Na dionici dugoj cca 600 m pronađeno je više od 40 dobro vidljivih kolotraga, a na ostatku trase u dužini od cca 1,5 km i očuvani, podzidani rubnjaci i nasipi jednog dijela spomenute ceste koja u cijelosti prolazi kroz mjesto, od njegovog zapadnog do istočnog teritorijalnog dijela, kako je rekao Marijo.

O otkriću ove važne povijesne prometnice obaviještena je arheološka i konzervatorska struka na lokalnoj kao i na nacionalnoj razini. Pojedine nadležne institucije i stručne osobe s Marijom su obišle teren i lokacije sa pronađenim kolotrazima te im je prezentirana trasa koja prolazi kroz mjesto Velić.

Daljnji postupci idu u smjeru arheološke zaštite opisane dionice rimske ceste kao vrlo vrijedne povijesne i kulturne baštine, kako mjesta Velić, tako i Republike Hrvatske.

S obzirom na značaj i arheološku vrijednost ubicirane cestovne trase, u budućem i vrlo kratkom vremenu očekuje se da se ista žurno zaštiti, valorizira i uklopi u turističku ponudu Triljskog kraja, piše Ferata.
