Iako sam 1985. godine, kao kadet, navigavao s očevim mlađim bratom - tada već godinama kapo od makine - od Splita do Maloga Lošinja...
Iako su te iste godine dvojica mojih bratića - sin tog istog očevog brata i sin mlađe očeve sestre - navigali skupa kao kadeti...
Iako sam 1992. navigavao s dvojicom braće Kriljana...
Iako sam 2004. navigavao s dvojicom braće Filipinaca...
Svejedno sam, isto tako, 2009. godine odbio noštromov zahtjev da mu se sin prekrca kod nas na brod - piše kapetan Aron Baretić - ABe za Pomorac.hr, da bi potom objasnio kako se na kraju on osobno našao na istom brodu s vlastitim sinom pomorcem...
Bolje spriječiti...
Jesam, poslao sam upit kompaniji, uz komentar da ne prihvaćam da pod mojim zapovjedništvom navigaju skupa otac i sin. Bez diskusije su odbili tako nešto. Jer, načelno, toliko bliski članovi obitelji ne bi smjeli navigat skupa. Jer, ako nešto pođe po zlu, neće obojica nastradati. Što ne znači da se jednome može, a drugome ne mora desiti išta. Međutim, bolje spriječiti nego liječiti, ili kako kažu Englezi: “Better worry than sorry!" Naročito u vremenu u kojem živimo kad se odgovornosti prebacuju iz ruke u ruku poput vrelih krumpira.
Unatoč svemu navedenome, čitav život sam tvrdio kako se to meni neće desiti jer ću to, jednostavno, odbiti. Da mi je netko rekao, čak i dva mjeseca unatrag, da bismo moj sin i ja mogli navigat skupa, rekao bih mu/joj da nema načina niti postoje novci na svijetu koji bi me na to natjerali. No, kako već znamo da život stvara najljepše priče, tako se pobrinuo i da se sin i ja nađemo na istom brodu. On kao terco, a ja kao barba.

Neću se iznenaditi ako me pojedinci nazovu licemjerom pošto sam to drugome odbio, a ja sam to isto prihvatio. Svatko ima pravo na svoje mišljenje, pa i na iskazivanje istoga. Međutim, u ovoj mojoj/našoj situaciji, ja i samo ja sam odgovoran i tu odgovornost, taj vreli krumpir, niti želim niti mogu uvaliti ikome drugome.
Prvotno je bilo upitno hoće li se sin iskrcati i doći kući prije moga ukrcaja ili ćemo se nakratko naći na brodu, u portu mog ukrcaja i njegovog iskrcaja. Ipak, uzimam si kao olakotnu okolnost (pa biste baš mogli i vi) činjenicu da sam naglasio kadrovskoj službi da pristajem na to jedino zbog toga što je brod po Europi na kratkim putovanjima i što se sinu zakomplicirala smjena. Tako da je bilo za očekivati da ta naša navigacija neće potrajati duže od deset do petnaest dana… Da bi se život opet pobrinuo da ne bude baš tako.
Naime, sinu je smjena trebala stići kada i meni, ali je u posljednjem trenutku otkazana. Tako da se desila tek jedanaest dana kasnije. Pošto je čovjek koji ga mijenja timunjer i tek treba avancat u terca, očekivalo se da će produžena primopredaja potrajati, također, deset do petnaest dana.
Priznajem i da bi, možda, bilo poštenije da moj sin napiše svoju priču, pa da ih usporedimo i nađemo se negdje na pola puta. No, za sad ćemo/ćete se morati zadovoljiti samo mojom. A jednom, tko zna …
Na brod Sloman Herakles ukrcao sam se 29. ožujka 2023. godine po sedmi puta, u španjolskoj luci Huelva. Nije bio uzastopan sedmi put. A u vrijeme ukrcaja sam na kompaniji bio malo preko jedanaest godina.

U vrijeme mog ukrcaja, sin je već odradio četveromjesečni ugovor i prebacio osam dana. Njemu je ovo četvrti ukrcaj na istoj kompaniji gdje je odradio kadeturu i nastavio kao terco. Uz usputnu napomenu da nas na kompaniji ima samo četvorica Hrvata i da ne ukrcavaju više naše ljude.
Emocije su me obuzele
Emocije koje su me obuzele kad sam se ukrcao i ugledao vlastito, prvorođeno dijete u kontrolnoj kabini tereta vrlo teško je za opisati u nekoliko riječi. No, ukratko, bila je to mješavina što profesionalne (tankeraša s preko trideset godina iskustva), što urođene znatiželje i – silnoga ponosa. Tko nije roditelj niti ne može znati kakve su to emocije kada gledate vlastito dijete koje ste kao roditelji uspjeli uvesti u život, bez ozbiljnijih posljedica.
Uporno i nepopustljivo ostajem pri svome da ne postoji teži ili odgovorniji posao od odgajanja djeteta. Svaka, i najmanja greška može imati dalekosežne i nepopravljive posljedice. A svi griješimo. Kao i kada počnete shvaćati da ništa od svega što ste poduzimali na tom putu (paralelnog) odrastanja i sazrijevanja nije bilo uzaludno te da su rezultati vašeg odgoja itekako vidljivi i pozitivni. Ponos je prijetio da me nadvlada.
Neću krenuti sa samohvalom niti hvalom svoga sina. Međutim, moram naglasiti da sam čuo od četvorice kolega komandanata, kao i nekih ostalih članova posade sve najbolje na njegov račun...

Iako sam 1985. godine, kao kadet, navigavao s očevim mlađim bratom - tada već godinama kapo od makine - od Splita do Maloga Lošinja...
Iako su te iste godine dvojica mojih bratića - sin tog istog očevog brata i sin mlađe očeve sestre - navigali skupa kao kadeti...
Iako sam 1992. navigavao s dvojicom braće Kriljana...
Iako sam 2004. navigavao s dvojicom braće Filipinaca...
Svejedno sam, isto tako, 2009. godine odbio noštromov zahtjev da mu se sin prekrca kod nas na brod - piše kapetan Aron Baretić - ABe za Pomorac.hr, da bi potom objasnio kako se na kraju on osobno našao na istom brodu s vlastitim sinom pomorcem...
Bolje spriječiti...
Jesam, poslao sam upit kompaniji, uz komentar da ne prihvaćam da pod mojim zapovjedništvom navigaju skupa otac i sin. Bez diskusije su odbili tako nešto. Jer, načelno, toliko bliski članovi obitelji ne bi smjeli navigat skupa. Jer, ako nešto pođe po zlu, neće obojica nastradati. Što ne znači da se jednome može, a drugome ne mora desiti išta. Međutim, bolje spriječiti nego liječiti, ili kako kažu Englezi: “Better worry than sorry!" Naročito u vremenu u kojem živimo kad se odgovornosti prebacuju iz ruke u ruku poput vrelih krumpira.
Unatoč svemu navedenome, čitav život sam tvrdio kako se to meni neće desiti jer ću to, jednostavno, odbiti. Da mi je netko rekao, čak i dva mjeseca unatrag, da bismo moj sin i ja mogli navigat skupa, rekao bih mu/joj da nema načina niti postoje novci na svijetu koji bi me na to natjerali. No, kako već znamo da život stvara najljepše priče, tako se pobrinuo i da se sin i ja nađemo na istom brodu. On kao terco, a ja kao barba.

Neću se iznenaditi ako me pojedinci nazovu licemjerom pošto sam to drugome odbio, a ja sam to isto prihvatio. Svatko ima pravo na svoje mišljenje, pa i na iskazivanje istoga. Međutim, u ovoj mojoj/našoj situaciji, ja i samo ja sam odgovoran i tu odgovornost, taj vreli krumpir, niti želim niti mogu uvaliti ikome drugome.
Prvotno je bilo upitno hoće li se sin iskrcati i doći kući prije moga ukrcaja ili ćemo se nakratko naći na brodu, u portu mog ukrcaja i njegovog iskrcaja. Ipak, uzimam si kao olakotnu okolnost (pa biste baš mogli i vi) činjenicu da sam naglasio kadrovskoj službi da pristajem na to jedino zbog toga što je brod po Europi na kratkim putovanjima i što se sinu zakomplicirala smjena. Tako da je bilo za očekivati da ta naša navigacija neće potrajati duže od deset do petnaest dana… Da bi se život opet pobrinuo da ne bude baš tako.
Naime, sinu je smjena trebala stići kada i meni, ali je u posljednjem trenutku otkazana. Tako da se desila tek jedanaest dana kasnije. Pošto je čovjek koji ga mijenja timunjer i tek treba avancat u terca, očekivalo se da će produžena primopredaja potrajati, također, deset do petnaest dana.
Priznajem i da bi, možda, bilo poštenije da moj sin napiše svoju priču, pa da ih usporedimo i nađemo se negdje na pola puta. No, za sad ćemo/ćete se morati zadovoljiti samo mojom. A jednom, tko zna …
Na brod Sloman Herakles ukrcao sam se 29. ožujka 2023. godine po sedmi puta, u španjolskoj luci Huelva. Nije bio uzastopan sedmi put. A u vrijeme ukrcaja sam na kompaniji bio malo preko jedanaest godina.

U vrijeme mog ukrcaja, sin je već odradio četveromjesečni ugovor i prebacio osam dana. Njemu je ovo četvrti ukrcaj na istoj kompaniji gdje je odradio kadeturu i nastavio kao terco. Uz usputnu napomenu da nas na kompaniji ima samo četvorica Hrvata i da ne ukrcavaju više naše ljude.
Emocije su me obuzele
Emocije koje su me obuzele kad sam se ukrcao i ugledao vlastito, prvorođeno dijete u kontrolnoj kabini tereta vrlo teško je za opisati u nekoliko riječi. No, ukratko, bila je to mješavina što profesionalne (tankeraša s preko trideset godina iskustva), što urođene znatiželje i – silnoga ponosa. Tko nije roditelj niti ne može znati kakve su to emocije kada gledate vlastito dijete koje ste kao roditelji uspjeli uvesti u život, bez ozbiljnijih posljedica.
Uporno i nepopustljivo ostajem pri svome da ne postoji teži ili odgovorniji posao od odgajanja djeteta. Svaka, i najmanja greška može imati dalekosežne i nepopravljive posljedice. A svi griješimo. Kao i kada počnete shvaćati da ništa od svega što ste poduzimali na tom putu (paralelnog) odrastanja i sazrijevanja nije bilo uzaludno te da su rezultati vašeg odgoja itekako vidljivi i pozitivni. Ponos je prijetio da me nadvlada.
Neću krenuti sa samohvalom niti hvalom svoga sina. Međutim, moram naglasiti da sam čuo od četvorice kolega komandanata, kao i nekih ostalih članova posade sve najbolje na njegov račun...
