Šire benkovačko područje u ponedjeljak je zahvatilo strašno nevrijeme s pijavicom koja je došla s mora, a najgore je bilo u Novom naselju Gaj gdje je vjetar nosio sve pred sobom. Pijavica je u zrak digla  kamp kućice, krovove, dimnjake, spremnike za otpad, polomila stabla, oštetila kuće, automobile...

Jučer je pijavica zabilježena i u Mravincima kod Splita, a pojavila se i snimka vrtloga koji je iznenadio mještane.

Kod nas pijavice nisu toliko snažne da su ostavljale za sobom apokaliptične prizore kakve smo navikli gledati u nekim drugim  zemljama poput SAD-a, no u zadnje vrijeme i u Hrvatskoj ih se evidentira sve više, a i štete su poprilične.

Među najžešćim pijavicama na Jadranu je bila ona kod Bibinja koja je 18. kolovoza 1994., uspjela čak zarotirati trajekt na moru, a ulaskom nad kopno uništila je oko 50 kuća te počupala stabla i električne dalekovode. Vrtlog je ostavio “vatrogasni put" kroz šumu kuda je protutnjao.

Snažna je bila i pijavica koja je poharala Crveni otok u srpnju 2002., te ona koja je zahvatila Murter u kolovozu 2005., kad je u nebo dizala brodice te čupala stabla i krovove.

Kako nastaju pijavice? 

Pijavica je intenzivan cilindrični vrtlog koji se obično javlja kao oblak u obliku lijevka iznad vodene površine i povezan je s oblakom kumulusnog porijekla. Ni danas nisu potpuno objašnjene, no jasno je da je za njihov nastanak nužna velika nestabilnost atmosfere, pojava olujnih oblaka kumulonimbusa i visoka relativna vlažnost zraka.

Zbog toga pijavice najčešće nastaju u III kvadrantu ciklone, odnosno jugozapadnom sektoru, gdje su temperatura i vlaga zraka visoki, ili nešto ispred hladne fronte. Često se definira i kao tornado nad vodenom površinom, a proteklih godina su zabilježne gotovo svugdje uzduž Jadrana: u okolici Šibenika, Zadra, Palagruže, Ližnjana, Korčule, Bakara, Rijeke, Orebića, Čiova, Cavtata, Silbe, Dubrovnika, Briševa, Fažane, Vrsara, u Hvarskom kanalu, na Pagu, Lastovu, Umagu…

Među najvećim pijavicama bila je ona koja je opustošila zagrebačku Medvednicu 22. srpnja 1973., kao i 31. srpnja 1982. godine, kada je područje Petrinje zahvatilo veliko nevrijeme. Pijavica je napravila štetu od tadašnjih 170 milijuna dinara i ozlijedila više desetaka osoba.

Dr. sc. Tanja Renko, kojoj je doktorska disertacija bila "Pijavice na Jadranu: učestalost, karakteristike, uvjeti nastanka i mogućnost prognoziranja", već prije za Slobodnu je kazala kako se u zadnje vrijeme češće bilježe pijavice kod nas.

„Godine s najvećim brojem pijavica su 2010., 2011. i 2013., kad ih je bilo čak 94. Iznenadan porast broja pijavica u posljednjih nekoliko godina vjerojatno nije rezultat nekog meteorološkog fenomena već posljedica bolje dostupnosti podataka, kao i bolje razmjene informacija preko elektroničkih medija te sve veće angažiranosti i rastuće aktivnosti ljubitelja meteorologije i entuzijasta – objasnila je dr. Tanja Renko.

U Hrvatskoj je tek nedavno napravljena sustavna analiza pojave pijavica, odnosno tornada nad morskom površinom za područje Jadrana za razdoblje od 2001. do 2013. godine, analiza je pokazala da se pijavice jednoliko javljaju duž cijele obale i tijekom cijele godine, no ipak češće u ljetnim mjesecima.

Šire benkovačko područje u ponedjeljak je zahvatilo strašno nevrijeme s pijavicom koja je došla s mora, a najgore je bilo u Novom naselju Gaj gdje je vjetar nosio sve pred sobom. Pijavica je u zrak digla  kamp kućice, krovove, dimnjake, spremnike za otpad, polomila stabla, oštetila kuće, automobile...

Jučer je pijavica zabilježena i u Mravincima kod Splita, a pojavila se i snimka vrtloga koji je iznenadio mještane.

Kod nas pijavice nisu toliko snažne da su ostavljale za sobom apokaliptične prizore kakve smo navikli gledati u nekim drugim  zemljama poput SAD-a, no u zadnje vrijeme i u Hrvatskoj ih se evidentira sve više, a i štete su poprilične.

Među najžešćim pijavicama na Jadranu je bila ona kod Bibinja koja je 18. kolovoza 1994., uspjela čak zarotirati trajekt na moru, a ulaskom nad kopno uništila je oko 50 kuća te počupala stabla i električne dalekovode. Vrtlog je ostavio “vatrogasni put" kroz šumu kuda je protutnjao.

Snažna je bila i pijavica koja je poharala Crveni otok u srpnju 2002., te ona koja je zahvatila Murter u kolovozu 2005., kad je u nebo dizala brodice te čupala stabla i krovove.

Kako nastaju pijavice? 

Pijavica je intenzivan cilindrični vrtlog koji se obično javlja kao oblak u obliku lijevka iznad vodene površine i povezan je s oblakom kumulusnog porijekla. Ni danas nisu potpuno objašnjene, no jasno je da je za njihov nastanak nužna velika nestabilnost atmosfere, pojava olujnih oblaka kumulonimbusa i visoka relativna vlažnost zraka.

Zbog toga pijavice najčešće nastaju u III kvadrantu ciklone, odnosno jugozapadnom sektoru, gdje su temperatura i vlaga zraka visoki, ili nešto ispred hladne fronte. Često se definira i kao tornado nad vodenom površinom, a proteklih godina su zabilježne gotovo svugdje uzduž Jadrana: u okolici Šibenika, Zadra, Palagruže, Ližnjana, Korčule, Bakara, Rijeke, Orebića, Čiova, Cavtata, Silbe, Dubrovnika, Briševa, Fažane, Vrsara, u Hvarskom kanalu, na Pagu, Lastovu, Umagu…

Među najvećim pijavicama bila je ona koja je opustošila zagrebačku Medvednicu 22. srpnja 1973., kao i 31. srpnja 1982. godine, kada je područje Petrinje zahvatilo veliko nevrijeme. Pijavica je napravila štetu od tadašnjih 170 milijuna dinara i ozlijedila više desetaka osoba.

Dr. sc. Tanja Renko, kojoj je doktorska disertacija bila "Pijavice na Jadranu: učestalost, karakteristike, uvjeti nastanka i mogućnost prognoziranja", već prije za Slobodnu je kazala kako se u zadnje vrijeme češće bilježe pijavice kod nas.

„Godine s najvećim brojem pijavica su 2010., 2011. i 2013., kad ih je bilo čak 94. Iznenadan porast broja pijavica u posljednjih nekoliko godina vjerojatno nije rezultat nekog meteorološkog fenomena već posljedica bolje dostupnosti podataka, kao i bolje razmjene informacija preko elektroničkih medija te sve veće angažiranosti i rastuće aktivnosti ljubitelja meteorologije i entuzijasta – objasnila je dr. Tanja Renko.

U Hrvatskoj je tek nedavno napravljena sustavna analiza pojave pijavica, odnosno tornada nad morskom površinom za područje Jadrana za razdoblje od 2001. do 2013. godine, analiza je pokazala da se pijavice jednoliko javljaju duž cijele obale i tijekom cijele godine, no ipak češće u ljetnim mjesecima.
