Na inauguraciji novoga američkog predsjednika Joa Bidena točit će se, među ostalim, i dva vina s Pelješca iz vinarije Benmosche Family – zinfandel i dingač.

To je velika čast za pelješke vinogradare, ali i nije toliko iznenađujuće s obzirom da je vlasnik vinarije, pokojni Robert Benmosche, bio savjetnik Baracka Obame, a široki krug njegovih prijatelja i poznanika, ujedno i članova Kluba ljubitelja vina, utjecajni su donatori Bidenove kampanje koji je, podsjetimo, bio Obamin potpredsjednik.

U nas je poznata priča o zinfandelu koji se iz Amerike vratio kući i to uz pomoć Boba, kako su ga nazivali prijatelji, a ona je usko vezana i za obitelj poznate pelješke vinarke Mare Mrgudić Bura. Ona je, naime, Amerikancu koji je volio pelješka vina i Hrvatsku, u svemu bila i danas s njegovom obitelji ostala partner. Njih dvoje zajedno su kupili hektar vinograda na Dingaču gdje su posadili plavac mali, kao i šest hektara zemljišta kod Vignja, a na jednom je posađen prvi američki zinfandel u Hrvatskoj. Lozu je Benmosche, inače čelnik American International Group (AIG), jedne od najvećih osiguravateljskih kompanija u svijetu, donio iz Kalifornije. Za Slobodnu Dalmaciju prije deset godina ekskluzivno je o tome pričao.

- U Hrvatsku sam prvi put došao prije 23 godine, još prije rata. Došao sam u Dubrovnik, koji je zaista posebno mjesto, a vratio sam se odmah nakon nesretnih ratnih vremena. Razmišljao sam što ću raditi kad odem u mirovinu i mislio sam da bi bilo lijepo stvoriti dom u Dubrovniku. Tako sam kupio kuću u Dubrovniku, a 2006. godine i ovaj komad zemlje. Kušao sam najbolja hrvatska vina, a kad sam probao Dingač Bura, rekao sam: to je dobro vino!

Poželio sam upoznati ljude koji ga proizvode i tako sam upoznao Maru i njezinu obitelj, prekrasne ljude koji su mi prijatelji. Razmišljajući o hrvatskim vinima, pomislio sam: vino zinfandel došlo je iz Hrvatske, lijepo bi bilo kad bih ja taj zinfandel prvi mogao vratiti natrag u njegov zavičaj – rekao je našoj novinarki Meri Šilović.

Dva vina koja će se naći na inauguraciju već desetak godina su na američkom tržištu, može ih se pronaći u ekskluzivnim vinotekama i restoranima, cijena im je oko 60-tak dolara, dok ih se na hrvatskom tržištu može kupiti za 200 kuna.

Roberta Benmoschea Obama je nakon izbijanja krize 2008. pozvao da se iz mirovine prihvati spašavanja posrnule osiguravajuće kuće AIG što je on i uradio. Doduše, zamijerali su mu što to radi iz svoje dubrovačke Ville Splendid, ali on se pravdao da su mu za vođenje tvrtke dovoljni Internet i mobitel. Preminuo je u veljači 2015. godine, ali njegovi prijatelji svake godine naručuju pakete njegova vrhunskog vina s Pelješca.

Na inauguraciji novoga američkog predsjednika Joa Bidena točit će se, među ostalim, i dva vina s Pelješca iz vinarije Benmosche Family – zinfandel i dingač.

To je velika čast za pelješke vinogradare, ali i nije toliko iznenađujuće s obzirom da je vlasnik vinarije, pokojni Robert Benmosche, bio savjetnik Baracka Obame, a široki krug njegovih prijatelja i poznanika, ujedno i članova Kluba ljubitelja vina, utjecajni su donatori Bidenove kampanje koji je, podsjetimo, bio Obamin potpredsjednik.

U nas je poznata priča o zinfandelu koji se iz Amerike vratio kući i to uz pomoć Boba, kako su ga nazivali prijatelji, a ona je usko vezana i za obitelj poznate pelješke vinarke Mare Mrgudić Bura. Ona je, naime, Amerikancu koji je volio pelješka vina i Hrvatsku, u svemu bila i danas s njegovom obitelji ostala partner. Njih dvoje zajedno su kupili hektar vinograda na Dingaču gdje su posadili plavac mali, kao i šest hektara zemljišta kod Vignja, a na jednom je posađen prvi američki zinfandel u Hrvatskoj. Lozu je Benmosche, inače čelnik American International Group (AIG), jedne od najvećih osiguravateljskih kompanija u svijetu, donio iz Kalifornije. Za Slobodnu Dalmaciju prije deset godina ekskluzivno je o tome pričao.

- U Hrvatsku sam prvi put došao prije 23 godine, još prije rata. Došao sam u Dubrovnik, koji je zaista posebno mjesto, a vratio sam se odmah nakon nesretnih ratnih vremena. Razmišljao sam što ću raditi kad odem u mirovinu i mislio sam da bi bilo lijepo stvoriti dom u Dubrovniku. Tako sam kupio kuću u Dubrovniku, a 2006. godine i ovaj komad zemlje. Kušao sam najbolja hrvatska vina, a kad sam probao Dingač Bura, rekao sam: to je dobro vino!

Poželio sam upoznati ljude koji ga proizvode i tako sam upoznao Maru i njezinu obitelj, prekrasne ljude koji su mi prijatelji. Razmišljajući o hrvatskim vinima, pomislio sam: vino zinfandel došlo je iz Hrvatske, lijepo bi bilo kad bih ja taj zinfandel prvi mogao vratiti natrag u njegov zavičaj – rekao je našoj novinarki Meri Šilović.

Dva vina koja će se naći na inauguraciju već desetak godina su na američkom tržištu, može ih se pronaći u ekskluzivnim vinotekama i restoranima, cijena im je oko 60-tak dolara, dok ih se na hrvatskom tržištu može kupiti za 200 kuna.

Roberta Benmoschea Obama je nakon izbijanja krize 2008. pozvao da se iz mirovine prihvati spašavanja posrnule osiguravajuće kuće AIG što je on i uradio. Doduše, zamijerali su mu što to radi iz svoje dubrovačke Ville Splendid, ali on se pravdao da su mu za vođenje tvrtke dovoljni Internet i mobitel. Preminuo je u veljači 2015. godine, ali njegovi prijatelji svake godine naručuju pakete njegova vrhunskog vina s Pelješca.
