Američki znanstvenici objavili su kako su od AIDS-a uspješno izliječili prvu ženu, a ukupno treću osobu, presađivanjem koštane srži donora koji je imao prirodni imunitet na virus koji uzrokuje bolest.

Slučaj sredovječne pacijentice miješane rase predstavljen je na znanstvenoj konferenciji o retrovirusima i infekcijama u Denveru, a ona je prva osoba koja je liječena novom metodom koja uključuje matične stanice iz krvi pupčane vrpce.

Otkako je primila krv iz pupčane vrpce za liječenje akutne mijeloidne leukemije, oblika raka koji se formira u stanicama koje formiraju krv u koštanoj srži, pacijentica se nalazi u remisiji te je izliječena od virusa 14 mjeseci.

Dosadašnja dva slučaja izliječenja od AIDS-a odnosila su se na muškarce, jednog bijelca i jednog latina, a oni su izliječeni putem odraslih matičnih stanica, koji se inače koriste prilikom transplatacije koštane srži.

Ovaj slučaj je dio veće studije koja se bavi liječenjem 25 osoba zaraženih virusom HIV-a, a koje će se podvrgnuti transplataciji koštane srži. Svi će se oni prvo podvrgnuti kemoterapiji kako bi se uklonile kancerogene stanice. Tada će im se transplatirati koštana srž osoba sa specifičnom genskom mutacijom, a koji nemaju receptore koje virus koristi kako bi inficirao stanice.

Znanstvenici vjeruju kako će te osobe zatim razviti imunosni sustav koji je otporan na HIV.

Američki znanstvenici objavili su kako su od AIDS-a uspješno izliječili prvu ženu, a ukupno treću osobu, presađivanjem koštane srži donora koji je imao prirodni imunitet na virus koji uzrokuje bolest.

Slučaj sredovječne pacijentice miješane rase predstavljen je na znanstvenoj konferenciji o retrovirusima i infekcijama u Denveru, a ona je prva osoba koja je liječena novom metodom koja uključuje matične stanice iz krvi pupčane vrpce.

Otkako je primila krv iz pupčane vrpce za liječenje akutne mijeloidne leukemije, oblika raka koji se formira u stanicama koje formiraju krv u koštanoj srži, pacijentica se nalazi u remisiji te je izliječena od virusa 14 mjeseci.

Dosadašnja dva slučaja izliječenja od AIDS-a odnosila su se na muškarce, jednog bijelca i jednog latina, a oni su izliječeni putem odraslih matičnih stanica, koji se inače koriste prilikom transplatacije koštane srži.

Ovaj slučaj je dio veće studije koja se bavi liječenjem 25 osoba zaraženih virusom HIV-a, a koje će se podvrgnuti transplataciji koštane srži. Svi će se oni prvo podvrgnuti kemoterapiji kako bi se uklonile kancerogene stanice. Tada će im se transplatirati koštana srž osoba sa specifičnom genskom mutacijom, a koji nemaju receptore koje virus koristi kako bi inficirao stanice.

Znanstvenici vjeruju kako će te osobe zatim razviti imunosni sustav koji je otporan na HIV.

Još jedan velik korak u borbi protiv opake bolesti: presađivanjem koštane srži od AIDS-a izliječena prva žena

Američki znanstvenici objavili su kako su od AIDS-a uspješno izliječili prvu ženu, a ukupno treću osobu, presađivanjem koštane srži donora koji je imao prirodni imunitet na virus koji uzrokuje bolest.

Slučaj sredovječne pacijentice miješane rase predstavljen je na znanstvenoj konferenciji o retrovirusima i infekcijama u Denveru, a ona je prva osoba koja je liječena novom metodom koja uključuje matične stanice iz krvi pupčane vrpce.

Otkako je primila krv iz pupčane vrpce za liječenje akutne mijeloidne leukemije, oblika raka koji se formira u stanicama koje formiraju krv u koštanoj srži, pacijentica se nalazi u remisiji te je izliječena od virusa 14 mjeseci.
