Marin Čilić se porazom (6-4, 6-3) od talijanskog kvalifikanta Flavija Cobollija u prvom kolu Plava Laguna Croatia Opena, vratio na ATP Tour nakon šestomjesečnog izbivanja zbog ozljede koljena, a unatoč porazu nije bio nezadovoljan onime što mu je ovaj meč donio.

"Koljeno je izdržalo jako dobro i to je dosta pozitivno. Umag je uvijek bio dosta težak turnir, pogotovo fizički. To se i danas pokazalo. Bilo je vlažno, dosta teški uvjeti za igrače kao što sam ja, koji igraju malo ofenzivnije. Cobolli je bio dosta dobar na nogama, dosta dobro posložen atletski i nije davao puno. Pozitivan sam što sam odigrao fizički dosta težak meč i izdržao ga na dobrom nivou", rekao je povratnik u Stella Maris, umaški pobjednik iz 2012.

Jedan izgubljen servis koštao ga je gubitka prvog seta, a Cobolli (ATP - 148.) je do ‘breaka‘ došao i na početku drugog seta. Čilić je spriječio da Talijan povede 3-0 s dva ‘breaka‘ prednosti, a onda je nastupio 20-minutni kišni prekid. Talijan nije popustio i nakon jednog sata i 55 minuta igre stigao je do najveće pobjede u karijeri. Imao je Marin prilike za izjednačenje na 2-2, a po povratku na teren i za 3-3, ali su sve ostale neiskorištene.

"Bilo je šansi, ali se vidjelo u tim nekim situacijama da mi fali mečeva, da ih iskoristim. Moram priznati da je on odigrao jako dobro u bitnim trenucima. Bio je hrabar, ofenzivan, vidjelo se da su mu uvjeti išli na ruku. Odigrao je veoma solidno od početka do kraja. Tražio sam načine. Isteklo je vrijeme, a nisam uspio pronaći rješenje. Nadam se da će od ovoga sve ići na bolje."

Kad bi mogao ponovno odigrati taj meč, Marin bi izabrao drugačiji termin.

"Igrao bih po danu, jer su ipak malo življi uvjeti, bilo bi mi lakše. Mislim da sam u drugom setu malo više pustio ruku. No, bio sam u rezultatskom zaostatku. Bilo je par situacija, hoću li se vratiti ili ne, a prelomilo se na njegovu stranu. Zadnjih pet, šest gemova je bila borba, i psihička i fizička, tako da sam s tim zadovoljan. U prvom setu sam napravio nekoliko taktičkih grešaka, strateških. Prvi je meč, moram i sebi dati prostora za pogrešku, ali na kraju, kad podvučem crtu - nije bilo loše", zaključio je Marin na odlasku iz Umaga i prema novim izazovima.

"Volio bih igrati još jedan turnir na zemlji. Kitzbuehel je jedna opcija, ali tamo nisam u glavnom turniru. Ako to ne uspije, ići ću u Toronto."

Marin Čilić se porazom (6-4, 6-3) od talijanskog kvalifikanta Flavija Cobollija u prvom kolu Plava Laguna Croatia Opena, vratio na ATP Tour nakon šestomjesečnog izbivanja zbog ozljede koljena, a unatoč porazu nije bio nezadovoljan onime što mu je ovaj meč donio.

"Koljeno je izdržalo jako dobro i to je dosta pozitivno. Umag je uvijek bio dosta težak turnir, pogotovo fizički. To se i danas pokazalo. Bilo je vlažno, dosta teški uvjeti za igrače kao što sam ja, koji igraju malo ofenzivnije. Cobolli je bio dosta dobar na nogama, dosta dobro posložen atletski i nije davao puno. Pozitivan sam što sam odigrao fizički dosta težak meč i izdržao ga na dobrom nivou", rekao je povratnik u Stella Maris, umaški pobjednik iz 2012.

Jedan izgubljen servis koštao ga je gubitka prvog seta, a Cobolli (ATP - 148.) je do ‘breaka‘ došao i na početku drugog seta. Čilić je spriječio da Talijan povede 3-0 s dva ‘breaka‘ prednosti, a onda je nastupio 20-minutni kišni prekid. Talijan nije popustio i nakon jednog sata i 55 minuta igre stigao je do najveće pobjede u karijeri. Imao je Marin prilike za izjednačenje na 2-2, a po povratku na teren i za 3-3, ali su sve ostale neiskorištene.

"Bilo je šansi, ali se vidjelo u tim nekim situacijama da mi fali mečeva, da ih iskoristim. Moram priznati da je on odigrao jako dobro u bitnim trenucima. Bio je hrabar, ofenzivan, vidjelo se da su mu uvjeti išli na ruku. Odigrao je veoma solidno od početka do kraja. Tražio sam načine. Isteklo je vrijeme, a nisam uspio pronaći rješenje. Nadam se da će od ovoga sve ići na bolje."

Kad bi mogao ponovno odigrati taj meč, Marin bi izabrao drugačiji termin.

"Igrao bih po danu, jer su ipak malo življi uvjeti, bilo bi mi lakše. Mislim da sam u drugom setu malo više pustio ruku. No, bio sam u rezultatskom zaostatku. Bilo je par situacija, hoću li se vratiti ili ne, a prelomilo se na njegovu stranu. Zadnjih pet, šest gemova je bila borba, i psihička i fizička, tako da sam s tim zadovoljan. U prvom setu sam napravio nekoliko taktičkih grešaka, strateških. Prvi je meč, moram i sebi dati prostora za pogrešku, ali na kraju, kad podvučem crtu - nije bilo loše", zaključio je Marin na odlasku iz Umaga i prema novim izazovima.

"Volio bih igrati još jedan turnir na zemlji. Kitzbuehel je jedna opcija, ali tamo nisam u glavnom turniru. Ako to ne uspije, ići ću u Toronto."
