To je druga hrvatska medalja na prvenstvu nakon srebra Igora Marenića i Šime Fantele u klasi 470, a ostvarene su još i četiri olimpijske norme na prvenstvu kojem je nastupilo više od 1100 jedriličara iz 80-ak zemalja svijeta. Nikad dosada hrvatsko jedrenje na jednom Svjetskom prvenstvu nije ostvarilo dvije medalje.

Ivan Kljaković Gašpić je u zadnji dan ušao s dobrom bodovnom prednošću, ali ne i s nedostižnom. No, Splićanin je uspio čak pobijediti u zadnjem plovu, što mu nije bilo dovoljno za zlato, ali jest za srebro.

"Dosta je bilo uspona i padova zadnjih nekoliko godina, sa prošlogodišnjem možda malo teškim stanjem i eto zaista su se kockice posložile. Nakon duge godine treninga i odricanja od svojih nekih zadovoljstava, užitaka, obiteljskog života i svega ovo je prava nagrada. Stvarno sam sretan i ponosan na sebe što sam uspio ovako ovaj tjedan odraditi. Najlošiji plasman mi je bilo šesto mjesto što zaista govori koliko sam bio koncentriran. Eto, moram priznati da sam se danas na kraju svega i rasplakao", kazao je presretni Ivan.

Naslov svjetskog prvaka osvojio je Britanac Giles Scott, bročani je Francuz Lobert. Kljakoviću-Gašpiću je ovo drugo svjetsko odličje nakon što je 2009. osvojio broncu.

"Mislim da Santander možemo slobodno ocijeniti kao odličan nastup hrvatske reprezentacije. Veliki pomak u odnosu na SP u Perthu prije tri godine. Dva srebra, imaju izvrsnu konkurenciju, u obje klase jedriličare koji imaju puno medalja, s velikom logostikom i mislim da je u tome jedina razlika između njihova dva zlata i naša dva srebra. Četiri norme za Rio također smo ispunili, u još dvije klase, u 49er-u i na dasci smo unutar tzv. velike norme, dakle iduće godine s ovim rezultatima oni će steći pravo nastupa u Riu", kazao je izbornik Edo Fantela.

To je druga hrvatska medalja na prvenstvu nakon srebra Igora Marenića i Šime Fantele u klasi 470, a ostvarene su još i četiri olimpijske norme na prvenstvu kojem je nastupilo više od 1100 jedriličara iz 80-ak zemalja svijeta. Nikad dosada hrvatsko jedrenje na jednom Svjetskom prvenstvu nije ostvarilo dvije medalje.

Ivan Kljaković Gašpić je u zadnji dan ušao s dobrom bodovnom prednošću, ali ne i s nedostižnom. No, Splićanin je uspio čak pobijediti u zadnjem plovu, što mu nije bilo dovoljno za zlato, ali jest za srebro.

"Dosta je bilo uspona i padova zadnjih nekoliko godina, sa prošlogodišnjem možda malo teškim stanjem i eto zaista su se kockice posložile. Nakon duge godine treninga i odricanja od svojih nekih zadovoljstava, užitaka, obiteljskog života i svega ovo je prava nagrada. Stvarno sam sretan i ponosan na sebe što sam uspio ovako ovaj tjedan odraditi. Najlošiji plasman mi je bilo šesto mjesto što zaista govori koliko sam bio koncentriran. Eto, moram priznati da sam se danas na kraju svega i rasplakao", kazao je presretni Ivan.

Naslov svjetskog prvaka osvojio je Britanac Giles Scott, bročani je Francuz Lobert. Kljakoviću-Gašpiću je ovo drugo svjetsko odličje nakon što je 2009. osvojio broncu.

"Mislim da Santander možemo slobodno ocijeniti kao odličan nastup hrvatske reprezentacije. Veliki pomak u odnosu na SP u Perthu prije tri godine. Dva srebra, imaju izvrsnu konkurenciju, u obje klase jedriličare koji imaju puno medalja, s velikom logostikom i mislim da je u tome jedina razlika između njihova dva zlata i naša dva srebra. Četiri norme za Rio također smo ispunili, u još dvije klase, u 49er-u i na dasci smo unutar tzv. velike norme, dakle iduće godine s ovim rezultatima oni će steći pravo nastupa u Riu", kazao je izbornik Edo Fantela.

Hrvatski jedriličar Ivan Kljaković Gašpić osvojio je srebrnu medalju u klasi finn zadnjeg dana Svjetskog prvenstva olimpijskih klasa u španjolskom Santanderu.
