Australski košarkaš hrvatskih korijena Andrew Bogut, osvajač naslova prvaka NBA lige s Golden State Warriorsima, oprostio se u utorak od aktivnog bavljenja košarkom.

Bogut je svoju odluku objavio na svom podcastu "Rouges Bouges", ustvrdivši da prekida karijeru jer njegovo tijelo nakon niza ozljeda više ne može pratiti ritam profesionalne košarke.

"Odluka nije bila lagana, ali mislim da je ispravna. Donio sam odluku o tome gdje ću igrati sljedeće sezone ... neću igrati nigdje. Opraštam se od profesionalne košarke, odluka stupa na snagu ovog trenutka", napisao je Bogut. Njegovim oproštajem od karijere australska reprezentacija ostala je bez najiskusnijeg igrača uoči Olimpijskih igara u Tokiju sljedeće godine.

Bogut (36) je u svibnju napustio Sidney Kingse, nekoliko mjeseci nakon što je finale australske košarkaške lige otkazano zbog pandemije covida-19. Za Kingse je igrao zadnje dvije sezone, a planirao se oprostiti od košarke nakon Olimpijskih igara u Tokiju.

Bogut je rođen u Melbourneu u obitelji hrvatskih imigranata. Majka Anica je rodom iz Šišljavića, sela pokraj Karlovca, a otac Mišo iz Osijeka. Poznato je da Andrew svake godine nekoliko mjeseci provede na odmoru u Hrvatskoj, a jednom je izjavio kako će u igračkoj mirovini sigurno živjeti na relaciji Australija - Hrvatska.

Nakon što je dvije godine proveo na sveučilištu Utah, Milwaukee Bucksi su ga 2005. izabrali kao prvi izbor NBA drafta. Sedam godina je proveo u Bucksima, potom je četiri godine nosio dres Golden State Warriorsa s kojima je 2015. i osvojio NBA naslov prvaka, a igrao je i za Dallas, Cleveland i LA Lakerse.

Australski košarkaš hrvatskih korijena Andrew Bogut, osvajač naslova prvaka NBA lige s Golden State Warriorsima, oprostio se u utorak od aktivnog bavljenja košarkom.

Bogut je svoju odluku objavio na svom podcastu "Rouges Bouges", ustvrdivši da prekida karijeru jer njegovo tijelo nakon niza ozljeda više ne može pratiti ritam profesionalne košarke.

"Odluka nije bila lagana, ali mislim da je ispravna. Donio sam odluku o tome gdje ću igrati sljedeće sezone ... neću igrati nigdje. Opraštam se od profesionalne košarke, odluka stupa na snagu ovog trenutka", napisao je Bogut. Njegovim oproštajem od karijere australska reprezentacija ostala je bez najiskusnijeg igrača uoči Olimpijskih igara u Tokiju sljedeće godine.

Bogut (36) je u svibnju napustio Sidney Kingse, nekoliko mjeseci nakon što je finale australske košarkaške lige otkazano zbog pandemije covida-19. Za Kingse je igrao zadnje dvije sezone, a planirao se oprostiti od košarke nakon Olimpijskih igara u Tokiju.

Bogut je rođen u Melbourneu u obitelji hrvatskih imigranata. Majka Anica je rodom iz Šišljavića, sela pokraj Karlovca, a otac Mišo iz Osijeka. Poznato je da Andrew svake godine nekoliko mjeseci provede na odmoru u Hrvatskoj, a jednom je izjavio kako će u igračkoj mirovini sigurno živjeti na relaciji Australija - Hrvatska.

Nakon što je dvije godine proveo na sveučilištu Utah, Milwaukee Bucksi su ga 2005. izabrali kao prvi izbor NBA drafta. Sedam godina je proveo u Bucksima, potom je četiri godine nosio dres Golden State Warriorsa s kojima je 2015. i osvojio NBA naslov prvaka, a igrao je i za Dallas, Cleveland i LA Lakerse.

Oprostio se australski košarkaš hrvatskih korijena: Odluka nije bila lagana, ali mislim da je ispravna

Australski košarkaš hrvatskih korijena Andrew Bogut, osvajač naslova prvaka NBA lige s Golden State Warriorsima, oprostio se u utorak od aktivnog bavljenja košarkom.

Bogut je svoju odluku objavio na svom podcastu "Rouges Bouges", ustvrdivši da prekida karijeru jer njegovo tijelo nakon niza ozljeda više ne može pratiti ritam profesionalne košarke.

"Odluka nije bila lagana, ali mislim da je ispravna. Donio sam odluku o tome gdje ću igrati sljedeće sezone ... neću igrati nigdje. Opraštam se od profesionalne košarke, odluka stupa na snagu ovog trenutka", napisao je Bogut. Njegovim oproštajem od karijere australska reprezentacija ostala je bez najiskusnijeg igrača uoči Olimpijskih igara u Tokiju sljedeće godine.
